I canceled the insurance, I want to know how do they calculated the penalty fee, because they charge a lot, but she said this is internal, she can't tell me how they calculated. They trick customer.
I can't imagine a worst customer service in my life. Claiming there is just a disastress experience. The last claim I made, I decided to pay the repair of my car from my own pocket and not waiting for their lack of sympathy to the customers like me after at least fifteen years of regular fidelity. Stay away !!
We have had TC Meloche Monex for years. They have always been there to take care of what ever needs we have had in the past..and there has been some big ones. I have no ill will towards the agents that helped us in our time of need. However, we have issue with the flip side of the coin. The Billing Department and automatic withdrawals.
We got a registered letter in the mail out of the blue from TD demanding the balance of our insurance premium be paid within 2 weeks. Confused, I called them immediately. I was told that my premium had not been paid for the month and had returned NFS (non sufficient funds) *a side note..all of our banking, house, cars, insurance is through TD.* I went online to check my account to see where the discrepancy was. Apparently, I had the NFS and was completely unaware of it..you see..they usually take out the payment the same day as my house note ..and Home Owners insurance....but this time they did not...they waited past the weekend and Monday was a holiday a total of 5 day past the normal withdrawal day. My fault I should have looked..but I was comfortable with the fact they had taken all the payments out the same day all of the time. However, no worries...the day of the withdrawal attempt I had deposited over $500 into the account...that should have covered it ...the following day I deposited another $1200 into the account. So somewhere between the holiday and 24 hours after..I had deposited over $1700 into the account, but the withdrawal seemed to have missed all of this.
I told the customer service this and said that I had the deposit transaction number for that day and the following day. I asked them why the withdrawal had not come out on the day that it had always come out? They said it was a holiday. I then asked what day was the holiday? They said Easter Monday. I said, but you should have withdrew on the Thursday prior before Good Friday, along with the other withdrawals? No answer. I understand that it is my fault for assuming the bill had been paid and I bought a ton of groceries for a big dinner which caused the NFS..but I bought groceries under the assumption all of the payments had been made, and knowing I was going to deposit $1700 the next banking day. So I asked how did we get to the point where I must pay the entire premium or get terminated?....I was told I had an NFS a year ago! If I remember correctly that NFS was also under similar circumstances, where they attempted withdrawal three days before the normal date because of a long weekend. So because I have had two NFS in 14 years, I am being threatened with termination if I don't come up with nearly $700 of dollars in 2 weeks.
I intend to pay them the money they ask for as I feel that is money owed agreed upon because of the contractual agreement. I keep my word. But TD will realize that when I pay the premium, I owe them nothing for the remainder of the contract. I will terminate the contract at that point, along with my home owners insurance as well. I will then seek a new bank to take over my home and auto loans as well.
I realize that my investments within TD is minute in the scheme of things. However because of this policy they have coupled with their haphazard withdrawal procedures, it makes for a disaster waiting to happen...and they win every time. So I will be saying goodbye to TD because of this, and taking the interest they could have earned from our home, cars and loans far into the future with me. It is unfortunate, because I liked TD, but if they can't treat their long term clients with respect and understanding, then it's time to part ways.
After 10 years with TD Meloche Monnex I decided to get other quotes. I was very surprised that I could save $800 per year on auto because I thought I was getting a good rate from them due to my post secondary affiliation discount. I canceled my insurance with them and was told they owed me about $500 and would get it in a week and I also owed them a small amount for my home ins. They kept their promise of taking the money owed but not the money they owe me. Instead of 1 week I have to wait 4 weeks. I called and of course they say there is nothing they can do. Funny how insurance companies and banks are extremely efficient at taking $$ but not at giving it back.
Submitted an auto claim recently and they did absolutely everything in their power to not tell me what options and benefits I am entitled to. Adjuster didn't bother asking if we were all right, only replied yes no or i dont know to questions I asked and even went so far as to tell me not to bother submitting photos. Pretty sure all insurance companies are not much different but will be leaving TD asap.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Called for a quote. Told them all info. I have two serious claims i was upfront with. She took my license number and says she sees those convictions and proceeds to tell me I am insurable, 100%. Kept in touch as I began looking for cars, and continued to get quotes and ok'd for insurance with TD. Finally found a car. Put a deposit and asked TD rep. to put the VIN and insurance in place. She says I am not insurable anymore because there are other things on my record. Was told by other reps. That the original rep. Did not look into the matter fully(even though she confirmed all the dates...so she obviously lied). Also was told they didnt have to look any further until the insurance was about to be purchased. They will do nothing. None of the reps will state they did anything wrong, even though I was misquoted on every single occasion until I was ready to pay for my insurance. Shady. Inaccurate. Inconsiderate. Dishonest. Bad business and no decency. Please, avoid this company and all others affiliated with it. They are not in the business of helping you. And they have all of their policies to back them up, so you will not win. Ever. At the risk of sounding redundant, please take your business elsewhere. This company does not deserve any hard-earned money. Leave them be. The other reviews can attest to this very same experience, in one form or another. Wish I would have read them before this. Let my experience not be regretful....please listen to this and all of the other reviews. Avoid TD Meloche Monnex.
I had been with this insurance company for my car and house since 2004. At the beginning, the rate was reasonable with my university group policy. However, I found they were increase my premium gradually without any reason (I have very clean record without even any ticket). This year, when I changed my working company, they almost doubled my premium! I have no choice but switch the insurance. I cancelled my policy with them at 5th last month, and was told I would get the refund (prepaid) in 20 days. Then until today no money was refunded to me. I called the costumer service and was told I have to wait until 15th this month to get the money back without any reason. My lesson is never go to this company for low rate at the beginning.
I have what I thought was a simple claim man backed into me in a parking lot, my car was off no issue right? Wrong this led to a claims proses that took almost two years to come to conclusion and led to them arbitrarily deciding that it was to be a 50/50 claim. I called them almost weekly looking for updates. My first adjuster called me only once and then went on maternity leave. The second adjuster I didn't even know existed until my third adjuster called to let me know she was handling it from now on. It went even more down hill from there, she was rude and quite short when on the phone. I received multiple promises of a "team leader" calling me one "the next 24 hours" which never happened. And after more then a year I get a call out the blue albeit only after I contacted the TD ombudsman letting me know they had to settle for only a 50/50 claim. I then told my adjuster this was 100% unacceptable and that if this accident went against my record I would leave TD meloche, her response was "that's fair" in a careless tone as if my buisness was worthless. So to sum it up: Never ever do business with TD Meloche they don't care about you at all!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I had an accident, in which I was not responsible. However, due to lack of support from TD insurance, I lost the case. They never sent any one to accident's location. The accident was in private parking, and police did not get involved. They just wasted time to lose the case. My adjustor never picked up the phone, and never called back even though I left messages so many times. It is not a fair situation for customers to be part of their dirty game.
The company uses low level adjusters who are based in Ontario. Their only interest seems to be closing files as quickly as possible rather than investigating cases. In my experience these adjusters have no interest in protecting you as a customer even though that's what you are paying for. Do you really want an accident in Alberta to be decided by an adjuster on the other side of the country? Stay away!
