was at not fault accident, police didnt give ticket, but TD marked it as at fault accident. 10 times i kept calling their claims dept, all they wud do keep transferring me from one person to other..customer service extremely rude. Its just a blind hole where we keep giving money and get no return..HATE THEM..
I was with TD auto insurance more than 4 years, never made claim, never had payment issues . and my renewal they added 90$ without any explanation, I switched to Co operators, and found cheaper than even what my original premium. Also heard from other friends that they are increasing the premiums of all their customers.
I am sure they are losing many customers.
I'm going to give you the facts...with TD I paid $550/month and that was with minimal coverage, being a relatively new driver (4 years). PC financial quoted $334/month and Belair quoted $210/month. TD upped my premium due to an at fault accident, however when calling Belair, they informed me that the accident was not on my record, apparently the other car never completed filing the claim. TD obviously has this information but has only increased my premium. In addition, the Manager from TD I spoke with was very rude and refused to cancel my policy even when I agreed to pay the cancellation fee. I am going to call again tomorrow because every rep or manager has something different to say. We shall see.
Was assured upon purchase that I would not have to pay cancellation fee if I was selling the car rather than switching insurance companies. Now that I try to cancel I am charged a cancellation fee without explanation of how it is calculated. The supervisor refuses to show me the actual auto policy claiming I have no right to look at the the policy in print and the official wording of it all only referring me to OAP and nothing specific. Then the manager of the customer service "respectfully" hangs up on me.
Ive been a customer for 5 years, then i made a claim, and experienced their customer service. 0/5, and on top of it, they keep jerking me from department to department when i keep asling to file a complaint for bad customer service, for several specific agents, such that it is impossible to actually even file a complaint, never mind get good customer service in the first place. I am definitely not renewing with this company. There are many other options, thank goodness.
We are with TD Meloche Monnex for last 4 years. We never had a claim, never got a ticket, luckily never had an accident. We also had house insurance with them from last year. As per our last conversation our insurance rate suppose to decrease for this year. But We are surprised to see that out rate increase 10/mo for next one yr. When I called they dont have any logical explanation. Even the ladies on the phone are telling that this is the minimum amount and there are no logical explanation why its gone up. I called 3 times and every lady on the other end has no explanation other than repeating this is the minimum amount. This is how they are treating their loyal customer!!
I have been with TD Meloche Monnex for about 4 years, with one claim for hail damage a couple of years ago. The claim process was quick and straightforward. The car was written off and I was compensated fairly for the loss; they even waived the deductible. Overall I was quite happy with them. However, if you judged the scores on here, you'd never know! I suspect the score on here is heavily skewed by those with negative experiences... If you're reading this -- please do as I am doing now, and leave a review -- good or bad, it helps others out.
The company uses low level adjusters who are based in Ontario. Their only interest seems to be closing files as quickly as possible rather than investigating cases. In my experience these adjusters have no interest in protecting you as a customer even though that's what you are paying for. Do you really want an accident in Alberta to be decided by an adjuster on the other side of the country? Stay away!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I canceled the insurance, I want to know how do they calculated the penalty fee, because they charge a lot, but she said this is internal, she can't tell me how they calculated. They trick customer.

My car was involved in a not at fault accident on a Saturday around mid October so I called TD on the Monday to report it.........No one got back to me till Thursday (no biggie) but, this adjuster was simply terrible. After he initiated first contact, that was it. I was the one that had to chase him around and call and leave messages like 4 times a day to get any sort of update. He wouldn't call me and tell me what was going on. My car ended up being a total loss and was written off and scheduled for their salvage company to come pic it up. Again I had to call to find this out. It was actually the salvage company that contacted me to tell me they were coming to get my car (I was like huh???), no word from my adjuster. Then he goes on holiday but leaves to forwarding number. so for 2 weeks I was getting transferred around and getting "you have to talk to your adjuster" at the end of it all. I was able to get a rental around Halloween time however. Then I call in again to settle everything and by chance I talk to an adjuster who was nothing short of spectacular. What I have been trying to get done with my useless adjuster for a couple of weeks she was able to complete in a few minutes. My checks where issued out (I got 2, towing and car write off). I had to return the rental however on November 9th. Now enters a new phase of the war. All of this was settle with the wonderful random adjuster on November 5th, now my useless adjuster comes back from holiday. I could go on and on but long story short. Today is November 23 and even tho my write off check was issued on the 5th (18 days prior) I still have not received it and I get a different story every time. Most frequently they tell me that its still in the mail........I got the towing check on the 9th. How can two cheques issued the same day be so far delayed. In total since all this started I have been without a car for about a month. On top of it all the customer service was horrendous, I lack the capability to literate into words how bad this experience has been ......And here I thought this is the exactly reason we pay insurance. To be insured when these situations arise......Thank you TD. I don't care how much more expensive my next insurer is, as long as they are in no way connected to TD I will be happy
