I had a BAD experience with this customer service rep at TD, she never answered my questions or concerns...find another company for insurance
Horrible experience with TD auto insurance and home insurance. First of all, the sales rep were lying to the customers and trying to sell customers the service they don't need and walk you into a trap. You end up having a service that is not what you wanted and never needed. They are not there to help but to create more troubles for the consumers.
I have absolutely no idea why so many people are complaining. I have been with Meloche Monnex for over 9 years, ever since I began driving at age 16. I've had several claim experiences with them, which have always been dealt with professionally. I have only experienced long wait times when calling at peak hours, which is common sense to expect. That's not even something I'd complain about. Every single person I've dealt with has CONSISTENTLY been amazing. I have called them MANY times, as I'm one of those people who calls even if a small question arises. They have ALWAYS been patient with me, answering my questions to my satisfaction, and I even receive consistent answers when asking the same question to multiple people. My rates are incomparable to anyone I know, so that is another plus. Recently, Meloche Monnex denied renewing my policy because I had acquired too many speeding tickets, but they notified me in advance and explained that I could come back once a few tickets were off my record. Fast forward 6 months, and I just got off the phone with them to get a new policy with them. Once again, I had a very positive experience with the person I spoke to, and despite still having 2 speeding tickets on my record, I still received an extremely low rate. In terms of the claims I've made, my car was always repaired by professionals and even arranging rental vehicles was NEVER an issue. I literally cannot fathom why anyone would complain about them, as I've spoken to countless people employed at Meloche Monnex and I have nothing negative to say.
I had a car accident and followed through with my claim, two weeks later, I have recieved calls for car financing and mail for the same in droves. I have never had this much mail (three inserts per day) nor ever had unsolicited calls. What's up with that?
I just filed a claim on my car and the agent, Tanya, was so easy to deal with. She was professional, efficient and so friendly. Made me feel so at ease about the damage on my car. In less than ten minutes, she had me set up with a body shop, rental car and my personal claim adjustor.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I never have claim, and did not move, however, they increase the premium every year. They recommended an app called myAdvantage said if I use it, then get some discount. I used it for a couple of days, then get an email said they did not receive the data. two days later, I was removed from the program, with a premium modification of $18/month. I called them, they said, I did not activate the app, and can not register any more. The fact is, I used the app, and upload the data. Their email confirmed that they can not receive my data!
My monthly insurance was $247 i was into 8th day of the month. I found a better insurance price which is $146 with exact same coverage somewhere else. So i decided to cancel, it was 8th day into the month and yet they still charged me $247 + another $13 just to put gravy on it.
Another thing i always have 2 cars insured. So i sold one of my cars waited for a month bought another. Called for insurance it went up by $15 dollar. I asked y they said cuz the car is newer even though it doesn't matter cuz its a third party coverage anyhow i let it go. Month latter didn't like the car so sold it and bought another one. Called again this time it went up by $4 asked y they said cuz its an older car. Anyhow to top it all off. Td isn't the greatest they don't care what kinda of economy situation we are in. They just want their pocket full.
This vehicle is a 2015 Subaru Forester XT pearl blue colour with only 9,300KM (approx. 5,600 miles) on it and it is in excellent condition other than the improperly done repair work.
The damage to the rear bumper cover caused by a hit and run, while the car was parked, was very minor but it required a replacement bumper cover due to the black textured portion being scuffed which, if that hadn't occurred, would not have needed a new bumper cover.
Took it to the "preferred shop" which painted the bumper cover the wrong shade of colour, it was too dark which was very noticeable and devalued the vehicle further and much greater than the accident damage cause. The vehicle was sent back to fix the problem but came back with the problem extended to both side's rear quarter panels by spraying them the colour of the improperly coloured rear bumper cover and there was overspray on the driver's side front and rear doors and the paint had orange peel. The vehicle was sent back to a different location of the "preferred" body shop which did a better paint job, no orange peel and the overspray problem was almost completely eliminated (there's still a little left) but the improper colour was extended even further along the sides of the rear of the car and, because of improper masking there's a line of paint forming a continuous line along the black portion of the bumper cover. Also, there's a stainless steel protection plate along the top of the rear bumper cover that was improperly installed, it has 3 places along the edge where it is puckered and not stuck to the bumper cover. As well, the rear mud flap on the passenger side is not tight against the rear side of the car at the wheel well. The bumper cover is not quite plumb with the tail lights, it is protruding a bit out on the passenger side under the tail light trim whereas on the other side it is slightly in under the tail light trim. That was the 3rd attempt to remediate the problem caused by the first repair attempt now they want to try a 4th time at a totally different body shop. We met the insurance company rep and the body shop owner and had a discussion but my wife and I have no confidence that the improperly painted repair will be remedied back to the OEM colour it should be. There's no guarantee that the paint colour of the repair will ever be done correctly, and there may be other problems such as described in the 3rd repair attempt or more than that. There's a lot more to this than what I've written but I can't deal with writing more about it. We are now dealing with the insurance company's customer service department but, considering what has occurred, we are not hopeful of a satisfactory resolution.
There are only so many words I can use to describe my experience with TD Meloche. Slow, unresponsive and unhelpful. The folks in the claims department will never take your calls and never return your calls. I don't understand how their performance is measured because they never seem to do anything. Go else where, if your car gets totaled, you will be left stranded for months.
TD insists on only using mail for communication, no matter the circumstance. They refuse to contact anyone for any reason using any form of communication other than mail. I had an issue with my mailing address and they sent about 12 letters, informing me that they were going to cancel my insurance due to a payment issue. Eventually, they cancelled it, without informing me by any method other than by mail (note that they had my email and phone number on file). I never received any of these notifications and was driving with invalid insurance for about 4 months because of this. Then, because I had an amount owing, they got their collection agency to contact me. They were able to contact me immediately, of course, since they tried any method other than mail. This is the only reason I found out my insurance had been cancelled. I paid them immediately. I have never had any issue with payment for any service in my life, except for with TD. If they had contacted me by phone or email, I would have been able to clear things up right away and would have taken measures to ensure this would never happen in the future. I tried to reinstate my insurance with them, but they would not grant me home insurance due to my previous non-payment, even though I had paid everything I owed in full. I went with another company, but they would not insure me until they had confirmation from TD that my account had been settled. So I went through the horribly long wait to speak with someone by phone, and after being put on hold multiple times, I was told they would send me confirmation the next day. I assumed this meant they would email it to me. However, when I checked with them two days later, it turned out they were mailing it to me. I spent about an hour trying to convince them to scan the document and email it to me or to just send me the original saved document, but of course, they refused. I cannot for the life of me understand what they have against alternate forms of communication. Why do they insist on doing everything with the oldest, slowest, most unreliable, and most expensive form of communication? To make a long story short, this company has the worst customer service of any company I have ever experienced, and will never contact you except by mail.
