We have a $13000 claim for windstorm damage, and have been dealing with claims and ombudsman office at Aviva Elite for 10 months. Every expert who has inspected the RV - except Aviva's appraiser - agrees the damage is from outside impact and should be a covered claim. Aviva's appraiser blames the manufacturer for a defect of some kind!
Finally 2 months ago they agreed to partial coverage. We will need to go to mediation on the balance.
So, we got 2 estimates for repairing the partial coverage they agreed too - guess what, here we are 2 months later pushing for approval on the estimates so we can get the work done.
Terrible customer service! They have tried everything imaginable to delay and deny the claim.
We would rate them less than 1 star if we could.
Stay away from Aviva coverage on your RV's
Horrendous insurance company. The customer support spoke nothing but incomprehensible, nonsensical gibberish which, roughly translated, consisted of excuses for their terrible and illogical behaviour. They also bill me without warning and long before they're supposed to, and on top of that, they constantly find new ways to, again, rip me off. My rate spiked for no reason at all, for starters. Do yourself a favour and avoid Aviva at all costs.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
the beginning of my claim was a bit rocky and stressful I must admit. First off the adjuster I had in the beginning did not help whatsoever playing phone tag and was actually quite rude. After speaking to adjuster after adjuster, I finally got the right information, which was to basically I wasn't at fault during the incident. But based on the fact that I was not involved in the accident seemed to complicate things a lot that caused unnecessary stress. In the end all they asked for was a few documents I needed to obtain and then pass on to them. After that the process was quicker than I thought, the remedy I was offered was quite outstanding as I did not expect it. Usually from what I know there's a bargain process but to my surprise I didn't have to. So therefore Ive had a positive experience with Aviva. I'd like to personally thank Diane Clark for her excellent customer service and professionalism.
I have had auto & home insurance with Aviva for a couple of years now and their prices and customer service are far better than any of my prior insurance carriers. I have found several of my neighbours are also insured with Aviva and they are all equally happy.
I contacted Aviva for auto insurance in the summer for my little convertible sports car, I was quoted and paid $254/month which I agreed to. The following month after wards I wanted to know how much it would be to change to a different vehicle, 2007 Lexus. I was quoted $460/month, I have emails proving all of this. The next following two months payments were still $254/month which I found odd. The month after in Oct. I was charged $949.44 which was absurd it was more than double what I had been paying! I immediately cancelled the policy and now am being charged again $949.44 in Nov. And now they also tell me $582.72 will be taken out Nov.26.
Watch out for Aviva they will quote you for one price and totally screwed you over without any warning charge you another amount, be warned!
Due to a family emergency we missed a couple of payments. When we called to discuss a payment plan, they agreed to take out double payments two months in a row. When the time came for the money to come out, nothing was taken. We waited thinking perhaps they were back logged and didn't get to it. A couple of weeks later, still the money was not removed. When we called Aviva Insurance to ask them why they did not take out the money, we were told that our insurance was cancelled. Meaning, they agreed to a payment plan only to remove our insurance. They gave us no reason why. Now that we are trying to get insurance back onto our vehicle, we are having a difficult time due to all this. I wish they had at least given us a reason, instead of agreeing to a payment plan and then going ahead and removing our insurance without letting us know.
There are a lot of negative reviews on here so I wanted to share mine. I was hit by another driver who ran a red light and my car was totaled. I only had the car for 4 months and Aviva had been my insurance company for less than a month at the time of the accident. I was concerned I would not receive a fair settlement because of this, but I have to say that my experience in dealing with Aviva was quite positive. My insurance adjuster was very helpful and always returned phone calls. I did have to follow up a few times to see how my claim was progressing, but in the end I was satisfied with the settlement price they offered. I will continue to use Aviva as my insurance company.
