After my car accident, I was assigned an adjuster Joshua E who made my whole experience a terrible one. I left him numerous voice messages and emails to which he never responded. I was totally left in the dark about the status of my claim for weeks, he didn't offer me a settlement of any sort. It wasn't until I asked to speak to someone different that my claim was settled in one day. I will definitely be shopping for new auto insurance.
On the fifth adjuster with Aviva since July 2015. I was on a motorcycle and was hit by a car, they kept me in the mig for a long time. Each expense form submitted resulted in Insurer examination which supported expense. Even after approval, they are asking for more information that they already have. If you are injured and insured with Aviva, get a lawyer

I have a claim on my car to fix the front bumper and spoiler. They told me it would be a 4-day fix. It's now been almost 3 weeks and I just heard back from my claims adjuster telling me that he is going to "repair" the spoiler and not replace it. This is the second time it has been repaired and I wasn't happy with it the first time, even so I switched auto body shops. But they still insist it is repairable which is complete nonsense. No communication and horrible service. I will be switching insurance as soon as possible
Terrible customer service. Overpriced auto insurance rates. I cancelled my insurance policy because I found a cheaper rate elsewhere. I had to pay for the cancellation of my policy and after that, they still took my monthly charge out after cancelling. Stealing people’s money.
They lack customer service skills and are always trying to put up a fight with the customer. I had a claim experience and it was the worst experience ever. They try to make you look like the bad guy and pay extra fees when I was not at fault. My car took over a month to get fixed when they told me it should take 10 days. Ridiculous!! That's probably why this company has only 1 star. If there was a zero star option, I would gladly give it to them. Aviva insurance should be working with the clients since we are giving money to them, instead, they just want you to be with them but not even help you out. I am never going back to this company and advise you all to go to Belair, Allstate etc.

2 claims in 3 years. First, they use out of province adjusters (if that’s what they are). They were arrogant, refused to even consider black book values of a vehicle, and on the second claim, insisted on depreciating a garage door that had been destroyed, leaving the homeowner out of pocket even though there was no alternative but to replace the door. The ombudsman was similarly uninformed, arrogant and a joke. Don’t use them.
I very highly discourage anyone from going with Aviva for insurance. They will give you the run around if you ever have a claim regardless if you're at fault or not. I'm 2 weeks into my not-at-fault accident and they won't even start the claim until I speak to an adjuster, yet he won't respond to my 3 voicemails and email and when I talk to another adjuster after being on hold for 52 minutes every time I call, they change their story. I have 2 house policies and a vehicle with them and they are zero help. As soon as this is taken care of, I'm cancelling all policies with them and will never use them again. Be very aware and do your research on companies before jumping into any agreements with any company. All they want is a paycheck with no service.
I really do miss RBC, Aviva is a horrible replacement. I wait on hold for over 1.5 hrs and still don't get the help I'm calling for. I have never waited on hold for so long. When I call anywhere else and there is no actual reason why I'm on hold for so long, it's ridiculous and maddening. Definitely need some better customer service reps
We called Aviva right away after doing our police report. We were frightened and expected Aviva to be there in our time of need. Our vehicle was hit from our rear by a big steel dump truck. We explained we were not at fault since the dump truck hit us but they refuse to believe us and delayed our process for almost 3 weeks. The adjuster was very rude and was the part of the main reason for the delay. They're very unprofessional, rude, unjust, slow, oppressive and most of all, they don't have any customer service skills. This was the most unpleasant experience and when you think things can't get any worse, it does with this company! They are unreliable.
To cancel a policy with RBC Aviva is a terrible experience. If you ever wish to cancel, they will make it so difficult that you wish you hadn't even tried! Awful company to deal with...
