1 out of 5 stars

had a not at fault accident, i was rear ended while i was stopped at a red light spoke to them first they said they would call me back in 1 hour , but I did not receive a call at all for a week, I called back and they kept giving me the run around its been 3 months with nothing called over 100 times left the adjuster voice-mails and they never called me back not even once everytime i call customer service and complain they tell me the adjuster is on vacation and they assign me a new one and tell me that they will call me back and it never happens my car has $6400 in storage fees and I have spent $3000 on rentals out of my own pocket because they are still telling me they are not sure if i am going to be covered and their investigation is taking forever . Avoid this company at all costs its not worth it no matter how cheap they are they are scammers and just take your money they dont help you when you need help they just take and dont give!

Stay away! Ruined my insurance

by Rbcwillruinyou on Mar 9, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

Long story short I was paying about 200 a month. On the highway I was hit from behind by a truck that was rolling forward and I was told it was my fault because I switched lanes and there was plenty of space... the truck had a video to prove the accident, he also stated he didn't see me and they closed my claim accident ND didn't bother asking for the info. Sketchy right? I started paying $602 with accident ND new company and after a year $540!!! Don't let this happen to you. The guy mysteriously went on vacation and said my file couldn't be opened to get the video surveillance. ... total screw job. Now Im stuck with almost triple the rate. They don't care about you at all. If I could vote negative 5 stars I would, they are also rude and treat you like you're a liar.

Not at fault and cancellation!

by dublinz on Jan 31, 2016

Yup - just like everyone else... No previous accidents. Paid into RBC for years and my first accident was being hit by a deer... My adjuster too, went on unannounced vacation, even though it didn't matter as he never called me once in over a month. Ill informed customer service cost me thousands out of pocket and then, they had the nerve to send a letter cancelling my insurance due to "material change in risk". Essentially, not only did they use their power to do as they wanted, they did a very serious "cancellation" action which pretty much guarantees you are marked for life when it comes to insurance quotes and coverage.

I would be scared to hear how they treat an at fault client! I gave one star ONLY because I had to. They deserve zero stars.

RBC mistrust!

by RBC insurance is bad on Nov 20, 2015
1 out of 5 stars

Sunny U. and Rabia S. treat RBC clients as if they are criminals

I wanted to remove a household from the policy as that person is out of the country, the advisor said the person should be on the policy, after explaining to the advisor that the person is abroad and might not be back within 6 months, he goes like :" Your insurance went up by 500 dollars for removing that person", He refused to add that person back to the policy, and said :" why would we?" in a mean condescending way.

I decided to speak to another agent, Rabia S., she said that we will send you a form to sign, and just letting you know that this form is a legal document as there has been misrepresentation of information. I asked :" what info has been misrepresented? no one can predict the future, I can't give RBC an answer when that household number is coming back!! maybe tomorrow, maybe a year from now.. Rabia S. goes like :" Ten minutes ago, you told the other agent that the person won't be back for 6 months, now you changed your mind"
Well, first of all, its not her job to interrogate me, these ten minutes is what it takes for someone to call and ask the person" when do you think you are coming back".
Throughout the conversation, I was told that any household who is licensed has to be added to the auto policy, its by law!! This is a split of the regulation, the person can actually sign a paper saying that he/she will not be using the car at all. I was not told that by Sunny and Rabia.

I am basically shopping around for policies, I made 3 policies for three different vehicles, interestingly enough the first two vehicles had a household on them, the third vehicle they decided to remove the household!!!

RBC scammers

Quick to promise you the world should you file a claim and then take your money every month but should you file a claim, their adjusters will put up as many obstacles and not return calls so they don't have to pay you.

Had to file a not-at-fault claim for a month old car (driver thought the red was optional). The adjuster didn't seem to care at all and all subsequent calls were treated the same. When he went for an unannounced vacation, the file was not given to anyone and no one knew anything. Initially, they were unwilling to replace the car and provide the funds that would not cover the month old car. Took a stressful month of negotiations for them to finally cover the price for a replacement car (at which point they were getting antsy about me having to return the rental car depriving me of transportation).

Getting any form of lost wage and misc expense (child seat replacement) involved verbal battles as well. The various adjusters assigned to the different aspects of the claim will not return calls or pass the calls the someone else who has no clue what is going on. If you do get in touch with them, then they will try stonewalling in the hopes that you get too frustrated to continue with the claim.

They offered a good price for the coverage but given that it is pointless to pay for a service that will provide none when needed, I will pay the higher premium for one that does provide the service that I am paying for. RBC will not see a single dime from me again.

No Common Sense Whatsoever

I had been with RBC for 7 or 8 years with no problem. Upon renewal my auto rates jumped about 30 %, no tickets, no claims, the only thing that changed was that both my two vehicles and I got a year older (me 65). I was told that if I replaced the older of the two my rates would go down a bit because the new one would have more safety features ???? Six months later I did just that...the rates were the same but they told me that I no longer qualified for the "Multi Vehicle" discount so my rates were actually going up some more. The reason, I was told, was that I was the only driver on both vehicles, each vehicle needs a principal driver for the discount to apply. I can only drive one vehicle at a time so they would actually be better off, but that makes no difference to them. What kind of complete nonsense is that!? I'm too old and impatient to deal with such incompetence and BS so I switched companies and saved over $1,000.00....and got my "Multi Vehicle" discount! Next time Kathleen Wynne decides to help us with auto insurance will someone please just stifle her!

Scammers

I had an accident 2 days ago and it wasn't even my fault. Atique is handling my claim and he was so rude and threatened me to sign the releasing papers and he said if you will not sign it, he will ask me to pay to collision center. How can I sign my ownership without having settlement amount. If Atique can see this post so just letting you know that I will not sign any releasing untill RBC insurance will pay my all remaining balance to the Bank.

They Don't Care

by Bad service on Aug 7, 2015
1 out of 5 stars

Informed me I had to add my daughter to my policy and double the cost of my policy. Not until the end of the conversation did they say I could sign a disclosure not to add her. I asked why they did not mention this at the start of the conversation reply was " we are not aloud to bring it up unless the customer does". Switched companies. Not happy with RBC at all.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

the worst company

My dad passed away 2008 , at that time we changed home / auto policy to my 89 yr old mothers name - RBC even sent the documents " in the estate of " as well as a new policy under my mothers name.
from 2008 till present they have been sending the policy renewals in my mothers name and debiting her account .
Today we called to say we had sold the care and to cancel the auto policy . RBC is refusing to cancel the policy as it is in my dad's name ??
I I gave them the dates / copies of all the letters showing the recognized his passing and the policy was not in my mothers name ...
Not good enough apparently ...so until a dead mad calls them to cancel the policy they are going to continue to take $ from my mothers account for a car she does not own .
