What the hell! I know it is limited customer service during the holidays but this is seriously feeding up. I was on hold for 3 and 1/2 hours and you hung up on me. I still need to make changes and now it won't even give the option for you to call back. You can't do anything online! You have no chat that is a help! You are so antiquated with your technology, at least have more service people working! I will be changing as soon as my policy is up for renewal.
I've had my home and auto insurance with them claims-free for over 5 years. Spent 2.5 hours on the phone, trying to add my daughter as an occasional driver. Until recently, she had her own car, own insurance but it was written off in an accident, another driver documented as 100% at fault. Just over a year ago, my daughter was in an at-fault accident as a G2 driver. Hit a guy who ran a red light through an intersection while she was making a right turn.
I expected an increase in premium adding her as an occasional driver but RBC refused to add her to my policy, said either we sign an exclusion agreement document or they'll cancel my policy. Her father had no issues adding her as an occasional driver to his policy with his insurer with only a $43 /month premium increase.
Guess who's going to be shopping for a new home and auto insurance?
I called at 8 am this morning right when their hours open and was told approximately a 7-11 minute wait time. I have been on hold for almost 11 hours now! This is unbelievable customer service. All I want to do is change ONE THING in my policy. All I want to do is pick up my new vehicle and I ended up having to leave my current vehicle at my dealership so now I am carless all because I need ONE PIECE OF PAPER from this insurance company that I was told had been faxed to my dealership but WAS NOT. I am very upset and appalled by this poor customer service. 11 HOURS???? Like really? I know there is a staff shortage everywhere but 11 hours on hold?? That is just absurd. I could work an entire 8-hour shift before getting ahold of this insurance company. Ridiculous! BTW I am still on hold :)
I have been trying to reach RBC insurance for a simple policy change for an ENTIRE week. Been on hold for HOURS every day. Sometimes their automated system would say that the wait is close to 6 HOURS! That is beyond my imagination. I am not going to make the change anymore. I AM CALLING TO CANCEL! IF I can even get to speak to someone!
Also, at renewal, they increased my premium for no reason. The phone agents are mostly Indians who have no clue what they're doing and it's hard to understand what they're saying.
I have made 3 attempts to speak to someone about removing a car from my policy. No surprise they don't offer this as a self-serve feature. Waited upwards of 1.5 hours and the last time I waited for 2 hours and was promptly cut off by an automated voice message. Shopping for a new insurance provider
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Just to save 10-20$ I would not recommend RBC insurance. Worst experience ever. Trying to reach them since yesterday to get a quote to add a driver and now thinking it is better to switch with another insurer and totally cancel this policy. These guys do not have employees or I don’t get it.
I've been with RBC insurance for over 10 years and since being moved to Aviva General insurance the experience has been the worst I've experienced... EVER! The expiration date on my credit card had changed so I received a letter for "declined due to card error". I called them and someone walked me through how to make changes online. I made the changes, paid the outstanding amount and the card info was correct. Aviva continued to enter the wrong expiration date so the payment was again "declined due to card error". They cancelled my insurance and won't even listen to the issue. My CC company confirmed the payment was declined due to them entering wrong info but they won't reinstate my insurance and put it in the system as "cancelled for non-payment". So I now have to pay 3 times the premium to get insured. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself from potential issues. Never missed a payment, always paid on time, no claims and this is what you get for customer service.
I've been hung up on 4 times out of 5 times I've contacted this horrible company. Not hung up because of me... I never even got to speak to an agent. Just waited on hold or waited for a callback and when it rang to an agent, I was hung up on. So that wasn't the beginning of my HORRIBLE experience. At first, they upped my truck insurance $30/month. I called a bunch of times with the hang-ups, fuming mad, finally got them to reduce my rate as I was working from home. Set up an online account so I didn't have to deal with them... NOPE....they put my spouse's car under my account and today I tried to contact them back to fix it.....same hang-up issue. Waiting for the second callback... Will see if that one works. But now I'm done so I'm going to research other companies.
Miss information from the agent forced me to cancel and look for another auto insurance provider because I can't add back my son to my policy even though he was insured with RBC before and after he got his tickets and for years. The agent told me I can add him back to the policy when he comes back from abroad. It was very disappointing after all these years dealing with RBC :(
I just want to change the auto address, it takes me more than an hour. The customer service checks my property insurance. Wasted 30 minutes... Customer service has no working knowledge at all.
