Horrible to deal with

by ahmed on Jul 2, 2021

You can not understand half the people who answer the phone as well they keep mixing up and screwing up home and auto insurance. I've been on hold for over 3 and a half hours multiple times and still can't get anywhere with them. Also way overpriced!

Terrible to deal with

Wait times are ridiculous, customer service is horrible. Rates double every year, no personal agent to deal with. I'll never use them again

Horrible nightmare TD Insurance

by Upset customer from Montreal on Jun 30, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

The wait time for any phone service is disastrous at the epic level.
To make matters worse, the agent you speak with gives you a quote and when you receive the documents, you find a totally different value.

Today, I tried to pay an outstanding balance through my TD Insurance account. The system locked me out for some unknown reason.
I called the number that was posted on the screen for me to call.
I am waiting for the fourth agent now to connect with me because all the previous three agents that I was connected to, each time one agent transfers me to another because he is certified to provide me access to my account to pay my outstanding bill.
Would you believe that?
Stay away from this company.
I can't wait for the policy to finish after which time I will definitely not go back with them!

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Long Wait Times/ Over priced

by Christopher McInnis on Jun 25, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

Waited on hold for 3+ hours on 3 separate occasions over the past 24 months. There is also no option to be put in a queue and be phoned back, leaving you stranded on the line.
When requesting a renegotiation of my monthly payments they gave me no alternatives even when I informed them another company had made me a better deal.
Their customers are clearly not high on their priority list. It's a real shame considering I like banking with TD.

Bad Customer Service

by Arbster on Jun 22, 2021
2.5 out of 5 stars

Customer service used to be good. Now I don’t know if I will be able to understand the agent who answers.
Call wait times have increased and the hoops I have to jump through before they will even help me are getting unbearable.
Fix your customer service department! Your rates aren’t that good.

Horrible

Horrible wait times, they will hang up on you after 40 minutes of hold if you don’t answer within a second, will cancel your insurance without proper notice when late payment arises and the customer service is terrible! DO NOT USE THEM!

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

Horrible service

My agent didn’t send the check to Active Green and Ross, he didn’t contact me for three working days and when he did he said my case got transferred to another agent and for me to contact the other agent. So unprofessional and disrespectful.

Terrible!

by Being Nice Apparently gets you No where on Jun 7, 2021

I had a claim in 2018 that was ruled by TD to be the other insurer's fault, with PL PD I would have to go for subrogation on my own.
Except I ended up having to get a lawyer 3 weeks after the initial accident because the other insurance denied liability after initially accepting liability.
2 years later, in December 2020 I received a settlement from the other insurer's company, and all was settled, or so I thought. Calling to change my address on my insurance and was told TD decided to accept fault for the accident 2 days before the 2 anniversary so Nov 2020. They did not inform me! This is against the notice sent to them from my legal team and in conflict with the settlement. When I provided them with the settlement info they said they would look into it. They then came back after me following up for a month and said no I am 100% at fault. When asked why they stated they needed more documents from my lawyer. I have followed up numerous times and have had 0 responses.
Don’t Recommend!

Poor service

by George on Jun 5, 2021
1 out of 5 stars

Very long wait time when I called (45min). It was repeated several times. Unexplained and unjustified raises in premium. The rate is going up, as your car is getting older and less valuable. I haven't received any checks during the pandemic, although my car was seldom used.
High rates going constantly up, even if, I had no claim.
I would not recommend TD Insurance to any car and/or homeowners. Very poor service.

A waste of time

by WK on Jun 1, 2021

I have been with TD for five years and for some reason I had to spend over 5 hours on the phone to update my policy to trade in a vehicle and get a new one added. It took four calls in total and only 20 minutes of actual talk time. Very disappointed. At the end of it, they were unable to tell me why it took so long and why the price jumped so dramatically.
