Dangerous Careless Workmanship

I had to call twice on the same day, each call waited one hour until someone took my call. They said we already gave you an auto quote today, you will have to callback tomorrow to get a cancellation quote. This is a crazy service. I've been with TD over ten years and they are not cheap and this is the type of service I got. When I call tomorrow and once I know the exact amount to cancel that's what I will be doing. Representatives seem too lazy to provide you with more than a quote on the same call. Callback tomorrow in this day and age is unheard of! Take your business elsewhere, TD insurance doesn't deserve your money!
Long time customer (20 years +) and I have never seen the call-in wait times as I have seen in the last few months. They have always been a call away and with no wait times. Now that we have COVID they are laying the blame on wait times on this virus which they have the exact same protocol in a palace. Please hire more people so that you can manage the phone calls coming in, in a timely manner. Nobody should be waiting more than 10 minutes. Clean up your act TD! Once again I’m waiting on the phone and it’s been longer than two hours. Clean up your act TD or you will lose most of your clientele.
TD used to be excellent - low prices, responsive call center. Now I'm not able to contact them by phone, email, or online secure messaging which claims 2 business days maximum. I had an auto claim - two weeks for my adjuster to return my call after I pretended to have a new claim and had to escalate to their manager. I told them to not renew my home policy, yet once again I have to sit on hold for hours to avoid getting charged for something I don't want. Very disappointing, as another user mentioned, their service declined amazingly quickly.
I have wasted over three days with this company. The last two days the entire server has been down and today when its up I have waited for half a day up to, 6 hours trying to reach this terrible company. When it finally reached it hung up on me right away. It is 2020, first of all, how is there not a call-back number and I have to sit and wait for someone to pick up all day without even giving me an anticipated time. This is insane to think a company like TD can have such inconsiderate and incompetent customer service. Complete waste of my time.
Have anyone expected with calling during COVID times. My experience with TD insurance is very bad. Last month I spent a few hours waiting on the call and it took a few times to reach someone. I requested to add some on my contract and change the address. Sure my addition has increased the cost but they didn’t change the address on my new agreement. Also, I don’t receive any pink card from them. I try to reach them a few days and my calls were cut off after waiting for 3 hours.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
My family was caught with no insurance last year when the insurance company decided to review everyone's premiums and make it nearly impossible (completely impossible for us) to renew our insurance in time. TD Insurance literally SAVED THE DAY and quickly and easily got us affordable insurance for 3 vehicles within a matter of minutes. However, I did not receive renewed paperwork for the upcoming year and just realized my insurance expires in 2 days. With other insurance companies, the pink slips were automatically renewed and resent to me every year. No big deal, except I, have tried to contact TD insurance 3 separate times today, for a total of about 3 hours thus far. I'm actually not sure that anyone is there. Wish they would initiate the call-back feature. I guess I'm thankful I don't have a job right now because if I did, I would have to go with an insurance company that I could reach.
I'm not sure what COVID 19 has to do with their very lengthy phone queue. If anything, there should be fewer accidents therefore fewer claims to process, fewer new vehicles purchased (therefore fewer new policy sales) but perhaps more people with time on their hands to spend all day on the phone with TD? I've not had an accident since 1998 (not even a traffic ticket), so finally I got sick and tired of spending $2,600 a year and went with another company. Was able to combine house insurance with auto insurance, add another driver and it was still a thousand dollars cheaper. If you have TD Insurance, find a cheaper and better alternative, then take a day off work and call TD to cancel.
A big waste of time. We have been with TD for over 25 years. It is impossible to get through to them. They moved out of Alberta and now have a group of inexperienced employees that are in a call center in the east. I have never seen a company go from the best to the worst service so quickly. Really should be ZERO stars
Submitted home/auto claims due to the recent June 13th hail storm. TD INSURANCE is a complete utter disappointment. I would suggest avoiding at all costs. I regret not going with other insurance companies able to handle/process actual claims and provide customer service support when needed most. After nearly 2 months I have yet to finalize any of my 3 open claims. The adjuster assigned to my auto claims - complete fail. Good luck trying to contact via phone/email.

I used TD Insurance's auto expert shop for my claim in mid-June. It was a simple claim - I had had a bottle smashed through my back window, shattering it and damaging the door as I was driving. First, when I inquired about using my own shop, their representative, misinformed me that the only reason they ever sublet out work is when there is something wrong with the censors or console electronic system on the vehicle. I agree to use their shop, with the promise that the work was guaranteed. They proceeded to put a completely different colour of tinting on the window, AND tore apart my car door, reattaching pieces of the frame with sticky tack and double-sided tape - I wish I was joking. The piece fell off shortly after the work was done, and I came back to them demanding that they reimburse my preferred shop (Honda) to repair the vehicle properly with brand new parts. Their detailing contractor also left a RAZOR BLADE on my back seat, exposed, after removing the incorrect tint. I ended up having to source the correct tint myself, and arrange all the appointments to have the right colour put on. The repairs weren't actually complete until early August. This should have been a 5-day job. My question is, if TD is willing to cut corners like this, what other subpar work are they doing to people's engines and mechanical parts? After all this workmanship and inconvenience to me, they refuse to refund me my full deductible. I will never ever use a TD product again after this experience. In addition, service from my adjuster was slow, not thorough, and unhelpful. Communication was unclear.
