Rate increase

I started with Primmum (who was excellent), TD Insurance would not renew and forced us over to TD Insurance - and wouldn't provide a loyalty bonus (claiming we were new to TD Insurance - even though TD owns Primmum). Since being with TD Insurance, pricing has substantially increased and wait times have exploded... blaming many of our wait times on Covid-19 is not legitimate...why can't TD figure this out? Even just offering a call back option when calling in would go a long way. I feel bad for the employees left holding the bag, it must be a terrible place to work if staff are jumping off the ship (as a representative I spoke to blamed the wait on staff shortage... doesn't seem like TD is investing enough to make this a real business. Will try out a local broker when my policies are up for renewal... it is worth paying a little more to have better service and support local instead of TD who obviously doesn't care.
I have been trying to contact a customer service representative since August! I was once on hold for 4 HOURS with no answer on August 23rd. I was calling because they did not send me my renewal papers and my policy expired on August 13th. When I logged in online they only had me listed as having renters insurance, but no active auto policy. I was leaving for a weekend trip with my two small kids and was forced to take out an additional policy with another company because I had no way to verify whether I still had a policy with TD. Since then I have called, I have emailed. I have sent a message from my online profile and nothing! I did see that they took back payments out of the bank account and a week ago I got my renewal papers. I cannot believe this I want to cancel my policy now (which apparently I still, but have no way of doing so because TD will not respond to any of my attempts to contact them. DO NOT take out a policy with them because if you run into any trouble they will leave you high and dry and will not acknowledge you exist.)
I have been trying to contact TD insurance almost for a month, and no response at all. I don't know how many messages I need to left so they can call me back. My insurance policy is due in a few days, and they haven't sent me the details of the new policy, pink card and I have no idea if I am insured or not if they will charge me and how much. Such a bad experience.

After 17 years with the company, and part of a professional group that supposedly had a discount with TD, I was shocked to receive my annual renewal with a 29% increase.
Nothing has changed with me in the past year and so I called to ask why the increase.
I was told that all policies were affected by general conditions in the industry and there was nothing other than that they could identify in my situation.
Enough is enough and I am changing insurers. I have contacted a few and have found more competitive rates at all of them.
One in particular will take me back to the level of premium that I paid last year. That's a 29% reduction from the TD renewal quote.
Goodbye TD.
