After a month of trying to claim $169.00 yes $169.00. for a windshield replacement on my 2015 Mercedes 550 SL, they refused to pay.
I had checked with the Mercedes dealer as well as a dealer I usually take my car to for serving. On what the cost would be to replace my Windshield, both dealers said around $2600.00. These quotes were submitted to TD Insurance. TD came back saying they would replace the windshield through their own connection and it would not be an original from Mercedes. I would not accept having it replaced with something I wasn't
satisfied with. After my $1000.00 deduction, TD was willing to pay $169.00, I had the replacement done by my dealer for $2600.00 paid it myself, and then claimed the $169..00 from TD. Believe it or not, they refused to pay me $169 because they didn't do the work. I cancelled both my car insurance policies with them that I've had for over 40 years at around $5000.00 per year and no claims.
Submitted video evidence when a truck spewed dirt out of the back and cracked in my windshield. They record on my claims experience letter as "other", initially they recorded it as accident, keep in mind the truck was at no time anywhere near my vehicle . Either way, they're causing the value of my car to be depreciated.
After a month and a half of chasing them down trying to fix their mistake, I'm told they can't list all the work that was done, and can only list it as "other - flying objects", like??? They say "We cannot hide information on letters of experience." Isn't that exactly what they're doing by listing it as other???
Run, don't walk, and don't give these criminals your money! They seem to be gouging their customers, I suspect trying to make up for the lawsuits against them for overcharging customers our west and not paying out travel insurance claims... Do a little homework if you're considering choosing them, you'll be glad you did.
I needed a new windshield for my Ford F-150. I was unable to get in touch with Meloche Monex on Friday before I booked an appointment with repair shop on Monday. On Monday while my truck was in to have the windshield replaced I called Meloche Monnex four times; on hold for over 20 minutes each time. I finally left a message; no call back. I ended up paying for the windshield and now have to find a way to submit the claim. There is no fax number nor is there a claims e-mail address on the website. This is terrible service. I guess I will have to send the claim in the mail.
8:00 am call - Unbelievable - I get in after 20 minutes of waiting and they tell me its the French Branch in Quebec - I called from Ontario, so they transferred me to the Ontario side and 10 minutes in (30 minutes in total now), I am still waiting to talk to a real person...35 minutes now....40 minutes now - as the guy says "Your time is valuable...we will answer your call as soon as possible...We strive for excellence every day - thank you for sharing your comments...please hold for a moment longer...thank you for your understanding". I am at a loss for my understanding...45 minutes now...49 minutes - FINALLY, I get a live person who can't help me and says I need to talk to Customer Service so I am put on hold again...50 minutes & holding....now a different voice comes on to sell the TD Mobile App over & over...bottom line terrible service ! I am being sincere and fair - I give up and will be changing my Insurance provider when my policy runs out. I just wanted some info as to my options to get a windshield stone chip fixed - what if I was in a hospital after a serious car accident and needed advice? (53 minutes and holding) - I get somebody after 54 minutes - guess what I get an agent in Quebec AGAIN and they can't help you if you live in Ontario Ahh!!! Transferred again....55 minutes and holding - the agent came on at 9:02 am - 62 minutes and was really nice but couldn't really help me and wanted to switch me to the Glass Claims department that I had chosen already on the Keypad as an option - avoid this service at all costs unless you have nothing else important in your life to do!
I’ve been with TD Meloche Monnex for almost twenty years and I’ve never made a claim or had a claim against me. Recently, my parked car was hit by a drunken driver; thankfully, two local people dragged him out of the truck and held him until the police arrived. I had a letter from TD saying that I had zero deductible and so they’d be happy to pay for the repairs. They were super friendly in the beginning but then I was told my 1998 car wasn’t worth fixing and they’d give me $1000. I reminded them of the letter and I was told “that was then, this is now” and that it was a matter of wording. I’m still in the process of talking to other people but I’m told they will say the same thing - even before I’ve had a chance to talk to them. Earlier, I left for the winter and on my return, I replaced my insurance. “Do you want the windshield coverage to continue?” I’ve never had this coverage. I was told the agent must have hit the wrong key; there was no mention of a refund. Like others, I’ve also been told I can get much cheaper coverage elsewhere, even though I’m supposed to have a cheaper rate because of being in a group. My advice is to go elsewhere.
Word of advice. Never use TD Meloche Monnox. Worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I was calling in regards to a small crack in my windshield caused by flying debris during a windstorm. I was originally on hold 20 minutes. I understood the windstorm caused fairly widespread damage which caused them to be very busy, so this was acceptable. The conversation went as expected, and a claim was about to be filed. My last question was “is this going to affect my premiums?”, which to me is a fairly normal question. He responded that he was unauthorized to answer that question. So here I go back to the 1800 number. This wait was over an hour to only find out that it is standard that my premiums will not be affected. A very black and white answer (that the previous person should have been able to answer). I was then transferred 3 more times to the wrong department who said there was no record of my claim being started. Finally, I was transferred back to the original department I was talking to who said that my claim was a click away from being filed. This whole debacle took well over 3 hours for a small crack in my windshield. Takeaway: Rather than having one person who can answer all your questions, they have fragmented their services into various departments that have little to no communication between one another. It seemed as if they didn't even have access to the same information. I felt as if I talked to 5 different companies rather than one. My advice would be to read other reviews and shop around before choosing an insurance company. I wish I had done this before selecting Meloche Monnex
