Aviva is the worst!

by notsohappywithaviva on Feb 9, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

I had a rear end accident for which I had injuries. I was gainfully self-employed for several decades prior to the accident. Despite my giving them all of my information to prove my claim and income, they refused to give me income replacement benefits for 2 years! No explanation why. They cut me off treatment for several months until their medical expert finally wrote a report that got me more care. I had to hire legal help to get what I was due from them. They threw up roadblocks at every turn. I would NEVER recommend Aviva to anyone after the way I was treated by them.

absolute criminals

If it was possible to give them 0 or negative stars i would. Had my vehicle involved in an accident, towed to the salvage yard for holding, been in a fight over the pay out for weeks now. Went today to get personal belongings our of my truck...turns out it has been sold 2 weeks ago. Odd being I have the ownership papers in my possession and have not signed it over to Aviva yet. THEIVES they literally stole and sold my vehicle. Worst people ever to deal with worst company ever. If you plan on being insured with Aviva your better off having NO insurance. They are licensed criminals and will screw you over any and all ways possible. Still have not heard back from the claim adjuster about who authorized the sale of my vehicle without my consent. Will be filing a police report for my stolen vehicle if I do not hear back within the hour. Please do yourself a favor and go with any other insurance company. Aviva will make you consider ending you life in an already stressful time. They offer no help, no guidance and no support. They want to shove their first "reasonable" offer down your throat and b done with you. When you dispute them and send in comparables they will find anything and I mean anything to discredit your comparables, even when the vehicles they compared yours too to come up with the lowest price they can offer are less revelant to your vehicle then the ones you send them. And if you think th first person you talk to is incompetent just ask for a supervisor and see what type of "customer service" you will get. Do yourself a favor: sell your car and walk if you have no other choice then Aviva, you will be much happier, healthier and much better off in life. These people are seriously the bottom of society and hopefully Karma comes back and gets them. It's terrible what you will go through with Aviva

stupid fraudulent jerks!!!

Want to give 0 stars btw. Me and my dad share a car. Anyways in november of 2016 some girl hit him from behind and when they finally came to give the estimate of the damage which took them weeks to do (before the holidays) they sent him to the mechanics (in january '17'). Well the mechanics decided to write off the car due to a bit of rust (for sure making enough money off the parts). While giving him pennies for the car. Aviva then told my dad he had to give back the rental or get a lawyer. He didnt even give them trouble shockingly enough (they left a 67 year old man with many health problems stranded to find his own way home) also leaving us without a vehicle while having to look for a new car. Can u say fraudulent or what? This is by far the worst insurence company out there

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

If you don't mind having your vehicle stolen from you at the time of pay out please get insurance through Aviva! If you want to fair market value on your vehicle stay far far away from these professional criminals, they have the worst customer service, worst and rudist claim representatives. Not worth even having insurance if you have to go with aviva

Disrespectful Company

by VERY Unhappy Customer on Jan 24, 2017

Aviva is the absolute worst Insurance company to deal with . I will never ever reccomend this company to anyone. Have been overcharged , they have taken money from me without telling me, not give me MY money back . I cancelled at the end of November after them doing a ReWrite without me knowing , trying to charge me almost $2000 a month for insurance. They took my December Payment and have not refunded me, will not refund me, and state they have no record of them over charging me. I am currently out $900 and will probably never see It again. What a great way to treat long term customers . WAKE UP AVIVA. I switched my insurance company and now only pay $250 a month for the exact same coverage except with great customer service . No one should have to deal with a thieving insurance company .

HORRIBLE

They're lucky I couldn't give a 0 star rating or I would. I have been dealing with them for three years and my depression and anxiety has never been higher. The insurance adjuster I am dealing with is draining the life from me. Thank goodness my husband switched, so if we ever get in another accident I will never have to deal with this again. I wouldn't even recommend Aviva to my worst enemy.

No Help when you need it,

Horrible company to insure your vehicle. I ended up with this company because RBC partner with them and because of that RBC will lose my business. This company doesn't send the quality inspector to inspect the vehicle when the car is repaired and ready for the road. Instead they use the quality inspector to decline your claim when the repair is done by their preferred mechanic Assured Scarborough.
I paid my premium every month, they did lousy job repairing my vehicle, because they lied to me that they repair will have life time warranty if I use their repair shop Assured Scarborough. My car was not safe for 6 months and I didn't know and I got lucky that my family and I are still alive, and I was told even in the last visit by Assured Scarborough that my car was safe to drive. I noticed the brand new tires were balding and too the car back. The quality inspector Ralph is unprofessional employee of Aviva, god knows where the hell he got his license, prepared false and inaccurate report, tried to call his manager, they lied to me repeatedly that there was no manager or supervisor to talk to. I left message for his managers it's more than a month nobody ever called me back. I contacted office of ombudsman talk to Craig, another lousy department to deal with. They are there to protect interest of Aviva not the consumers.
So if you read their message "Best customer service", don't fall for their lie or you will end up regretting dealing with this company and will have no car to drive and they will take their money to pay bonuses to their liar employees while there is not protection for you. They are liars, unprofessional and there will be no help when you need it.

Terrible

I am reading all these, and I am pulling my hair. why didn't I read these before, all TRUE, or seems TRUE, or going to be TRUE.

I am in Canada, and just learned that RBC sold its insurance business to Aviva.

I feel sorry for you, and for myself, that no doubt, I am going to have the same nightmare. My first conversation with adjuster today, verbally offered me 24k for my super mint MDX ELITE 2011 with low mileage, that you hardly find at 28k. And when i said wow, that is too low, she threatened me that she will pull out rental as of today. BECAUSE SHE MADE AN OFFER. this is just 7 days past accident!!!

So, that is nice business, offer a low value, and pull the rental if customer doesn't accept. Put pressure on a family who got in accident and lost their primary car. I didn't know this is how insurance suppose to work!!!

Shaky . . . . . . . .

I have always believed that the relationship between myself and the insurance company is based on 'trust'. I have lost trust in Aviva. I was involved in a accident involving others. Stopped at the crosswalk when a vehicle half the size of our SUV ploughed into the back of us. Aviva expects us to take a substantial loss of our vehicle. We were innocent. We were stopped at a crosswalk! To replace my vehicle will cost me between 3-5 thousand dollars. Tell me, does that seem fair? Unfortunately this site doesn't allow to choose '0'. So I have to choose '1' star. Claims experience is '0'.
