Worst in Canada

I have never experienced anything like the service of Rbc, makes me think of people and company that is interested to scare people and give them bad days of their life.

Any positive reviews are paid promotions by rbc

Confused about bad reviews??

by Jhowatt on Aug 4, 2017

I had great service with RBC! Friendly customer service, efficient and great overall satisfaction. I had put in a claim because I was hit in my parking lot at work. I received a rental car while my car is in the shop getting fixed (which they arranged everything for), they also replaced my daughters car seat and sent me a reimbursement check very shortly after I submitted the receipt.

People only seem to write about their bad experiences, for me I had a great one!

Poor customer service

Phoning these guys is a JOKE!
They'll give you a call back option and " we will get back to you in over 30 minutes" - not IN 30 minutes but OVER 30 minutes and if you need your phone while they're calling back, you're SOL.
I've spent the better part of 1/2 a day trying to talk these jokers.
My search for a new insurance co. begins now.

Terrible Service

by Terry Richard on Jul 29, 2017
2.5 out of 5 stars

On Monday 24 July I bought a Mercedez Benz from Tristar in Dieppe NB. Their business office tried to contact RBC Insurance to advise them that I had another vehicle that had to be insured as I traded in my Lincoln MKT for a Mercedes GLK. I was there for my 12:30 pick up and they told me that they could not contact RBC Insurance and would I try to contact them. I tried numerous times and all I got was leave us a message. The dealership told me that they faxed the info and someone by the name of Jason said that they would take care of it and for me not to concern myself any longer as I would be receiving the insurance card in the mail and I went home. Today Friday 28 July, I went to Moncton and stopped in at RBC insurance Dieppe to inquire if the changes were made. The receptionist Sandy gave my insurance card to a male person who got on to the computer and after a few minutes, she informed me that the Mercedes was not insured and the Lincoln was and they needed the VIN number. I told Sandy that Tristar faxed all the info. I went to Tristar and they gave me a copy of the fax and paperwork with the VIN and the business lady at Tristar told me that she had spoken to someone by the name of Jason and that he would complete the documentation. I returned to RBC insurance at 11:35 am and told Sandy what the dealership told me and that someone by the name of Jason said that the documentation would be done. She went into the office where this high feeling male was and then told me that it would take a while and for me to sit and wait. I told Sandy that I would run some errands and inquired as to when they closed. She said 5 pm. At 03:45 I went to RBC insurance and was told that the documentation was not done and Jason would initiate it now and for me to sit and wait. I told her that I would inform my wife who was waiting in the vehicle. I entered the area and sat and a male person asked me if all was ok to which I said no as it had been a week and I thought the documentation was done for a vehicle transfer. At that, this male asked Jason if there was anything he could do to which Jason replied no and that I did not have a booked appointment with him. This Jason conducted himself in an arrogant manner to which I take offence. The whole time I was there, he spoke through Sandy even though I was only a few feet from him. Tri-Star Mercedes Dieppe can corroborate what should have taken place on the first day as they said that they have never seen such a scenario as this one. I got up and left and as I was leaving, I said mail me that documents, I waited long enough. When I got home I called the 1-800 number to RBC insurance and a person checked my policy and said that the insurance for the Mercedes was only coming into effect after midnight today. I drove for a week without the vehicle being insured which is not consistent with the rule of law. Have a look at my track record, I have bought many vehicles and had them insured from the dealer's office. Are you people at RBC Insurance turning into a fly by night organization?? I will be looking at options other than RBC Banking and insurance.

Insure a car twice? No thanks

by NoDoublingUp on Jul 20, 2017

Called RBC Insurance for a quote back in April, and was going to call back once we obtained ownership of the vehicle. Long story short, we did not end up taking ownership. The car is still owned and insured by the original owner.

Someone at RBC Insurance went ahead and STARTED our policy, with no authorization or consent. We are now out over $800, and they are threatening a cancellation fee + bad insurance record for a car we do not even own. We have provided them with the VIN history report as well as the current insurance papers for the car - still not able to fix this.

How is this even possible?! How can you insure a car that is already insured?! This is mindboggling

I won't suggest rbc

I have a home and auto insurance with RBC Insurance, I started with insurance when I had a G2 license. At that time they said that once I get G license, I will get a discount on my premium but they refused to give any kind of discount when I updated them about my G license. Moreover one of my friends has the same kind of insurance with the same class of license, he got a discount and a further discount was given to him by the company when he called them to change his home address. It's very annoying to call and hold for more than an hour and still do not get your voice heard. I won't suggest anyone go with RBC Insurance.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

The WORST Customer service

Called to add new vehicle on my auto insurance policy. After holding for 118 minutes, I talked to them and they said it is personal banking department even when the option on phone, when I dialed the number, was for insurance purposes - like for auto insurance press 1, for home insurance press 2…

Change auto insurance address

by rav on Jul 4, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

I originally had both auto and home insurance with RBC. I had called to cancel my home insurance as I was no longer living in the home. I then called to change the address for my auto insurance and they asked me over 20 questions, I was on the phone for about an hour being placed on multiple holds. It was a horrible experience. All I wanted to do was change my address which is something that should have been done in 5-10 mins max.
Very upset with the service and the unnecessary questions.

Cancelling Policy

by Frustrated on Jun 26, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

Couldn't cancel my policy!

Because my policy was also in my ex-wife's name - I wasn't able to cancel the policy even though the car had been sold for scrap and the plates had been returned to the ministry! They wouldn't stop the automatic withdrawals, even though I setup a new policy on a new vehicle the week before.

Be prepared to waste a lot of time, with a lot of aggravation dealing with this company!

I will be changing companies as soon as I can.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
