You get hit and they run.

Called and cancelled my auto policy in November for a car I was selling, seemed like there was no problem cancelling the plan because we had no payment come out after that call... Then my Husband called in January to set up his car and they wanted to talk to me so I answered for them to ask me if I wanted to reset up my car insurance on our old car. I told the lady we had called back in November to cancel on that car so why would I want to reinstate it again? Then she tells me that they never, actually, cancelled it even though they never tried taking the payments since that call in November? So I told that lady to go over the voice records and she said she'd have to get back to me ... never heard a thing till the other day, which I was in an appoint mentioned so I couldn't answer... Then today I get a letter saying I owe $614 and they are terminating me? So I called them again and this lady tells me there's only a recording from last month (my husbands call for his car) and that there wasn't a call in November and that I have to pay the outstanding fee! Soon convenient huh? Will never tell anyone to go with TD again!!! So here I am three months pregnant and pissed as heck. Was about to set up our brand new car under them and so glad they showed me their true colours before hand! Worst company ever!!!
If I could give a 0-star rating I would. Paid $1091 to an account number they gave me. Now they can’t seem to find any payment whatsoever! No calls to tell me my insurance got cancelled 4 months ago without my knowledge. Their services are the worst ever and I would never recommend to anyone, and for anyone that is with this company I’d advise you to change, they don’t care about their customers. No help on their end with this situation at all. Now I’m going to be stuck with a no-insurance ticket, vehicle impound fees. They didn’t try anything to resolve this issue at all!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Had tires slashed. They didn’t provide me with a rental, which I’m supposed to get and didn’t pay to fix my vehicles. After a month with no vehicles, I paid for it myself. The adjuster was nasty. Do not buy this insurance.
Made a hit and run claim about 4 months ago. Received an e-mail the first month asking for a police report number, emailed back with the information they asked me for. Didn’t hear from TD for 2 months after. When I called to ask for an update, I was told I never gave a report number. After the woman went through her emails and found the one I sent her 2 months prior with the police report number, her response was “Oh, nevermind. I found it, sorry”. 2 months later? This month they have told me I need to “pay out of my own pocket” (direct quote) because they are unable to find a collision report. It took me 30 minutes to receive a collision report from the cops and send it into TD. I have been given the runaround for months, no customer service, no explanation. I was never even given the breakdown on how this claim would be handled. Absolutely disgusted by this insurance company. Do yourself a favour and avoid spending your money here, I know I would’ve.
We had a TD customer hit our parked car and it's been a disaster to get it fixed. They never contacted us once. This happened in November, it is now January and no settlement. When we finally got the appraiser here, he was late when my boyfriend needed to leave for work. He didn't call to let us know we had to call him 20 and 5 minutes before he had to leave, he went to the wrong customer's house. That was early December and we heard nothing back. Called back early January and every single person has given us different answers to how we can keep the car and the cost. The money offered was a HUGE lowball for the vehicle and our situation. One of the agents was especially disrespectful and unhelpful. He was rude, arrogant and unprofessional. When we tried to speak to someone to rectify this, he complained we were wasting his time and hung up on us on Friday and from there on no one would even answer our calls, so now we have to wait till Monday to call again. We have waited on hold for a total of over 6 hours with this TERRIBLE COMPANY! This whole company is a JOKE, the staff is crap and pray to Jesus some idiot with their insurance doesn't run into you.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
TD Meloche Auto insurance has zero customer service. They have owed me a refund for over 2 years and still waiting. No one answers the phone - no one provides details on why I am still waiting - only a request for a letter that has been delivered to them no less than 4 times. Avoid Avoid Avoid!
Insured with this insurance company for over 5 years. I just recently moved my insurance policy to include my truck and have my "summer car" taken off. This resulted in a credit of $129.95. The notification from TD stated that the refund would be credited to my credit card on 13-Oct-18, keep in mind that I requested this change on 06-Oct-18. The credit did not appear on my credit card, so I contacted them only to be told that the credit won't be given until 6 weeks from the date stated in the notification. I struggle with the fact that the notification stated the credit would be on the 13-Oct and being told by phone that it would be 6 weeks. Had the notification from them, dated 15-Oct, stated that it would have been easier to accept. Six weeks is now up and still no credit, how much money do these people make off the interest for ALL the money they withhold? New insurance company next time.
I was a customer for several years, home and auto. Never had a late payment. Came upon tough times, had 2 late payments within a year, and they demanded I pay the entire balance or I would be cancelled. Obviously, I had struggled to pay the 150$ or so, therefore, 1400$ was not about to happen. A few months later I had paid them off, and now they will not give me a new policy. This just goes along with the current TD theme of customers are only measured by what they've done for them lately. Unless you are perfect, not a great place to go. They will not work with you to solve any issues.
TD insurance is the absolute worst insurance company that I have ever dealt with. After cancelling our policy, the insurance company continued to dip their hands into our bank and take out money. This week, they completely emptied out our bank account, which was intended for medical supplies, and said they were unable to return the money but would put the extra payment towards our other policy and they would be happy to provide us with a $25 gift card “for our troubles.” How about return the money they fraudulently took out of my bank account?

I was involved in a hit & run accident resulting in my car being unfit for the road. I called the customer service line and was told that I would not hear back from a claims adjuster until Tuesday of next week (it's Friday morning). I was passed back and forth between four customer services representatives that were very RUDE and unknowledgeable. I was told that I would have to pay a $1000.00 deductible and would not be given a rental car as it was not in my policy. However, I called four days prior to adding accident forgiveness as well as the renal services. TD insurance will not provide a rental car and/or wave the deductible as stated in my policy because the policy did not begin for another 27 days? How does that even work? As soon as my vehicle is repaired, I will be cancelling my policy and going elsewhere.
