The biggest scam

I have been a loyal customer for many years, insuring over three vehicles with your company and recommending your services to several friends and family members. However, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience that has left me extremely dissatisfied.
Due to a bank error, I missed a premium payment, which resulted in me being required to pay the entire annual amount in one lump sum. I found this situation to be highly unfair and inconvenient, especially considering my long-standing relationship with TD Insurance. Although I immediately paid the premium upon realizing the issue, I was left feeling frustrated by the lack of flexibility and understanding in this matter.
The treatment I received in this instance has made me reconsider my relationship with TD Insurance. I deeply regret this experience and, as a result, I can no longer in good conscience recommend your services to others.
I sincerely hope that TD Insurance will reconsider its approach to handling such situations, as this kind of practice is not in line with the customer-first service I once believed you provided.
Kind regards,
Sylvester De Silva
I had to cancel my policy after waiting for three months to obtain a pink slip and calling them every 10 days to ask again and again to mail it to me. Finally I decided to cancel the policy, I canceled it in October and it is already December, but they did not refund me yet.
I contacted their office to request to move my payment dates to the 15th of every month, and they said they would do that, but the person I spoke to on the phone did NOT DO AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. This caused me to miss two payments in a row for my insurance yet the entire time I thought I was paying successfully on the 15th TD was not taking payments out, and they had decided to cancel my policy and this has now affected my record due to their customer service. NEGLIGENCE.
I had an agent yell on me on the phone because I did not understand their "policy" that had me being charged twice in once month. Don't make the mistake with going with this company.
I have had nothing but issue after issue with my payments. With customer service. Trying to make me pay multiple months with two payments. I had it fixed and payments went up now once again they’re trying to make me pay two payments. I filed a damage claim back on August 5th. It’s almost been a month and no one has called me or contacted me. Not once. Once my claim is done, I am switching to another company and do not recommend TD to any.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I called TD cause they canceled my auto policy (it had already been cancelled 2 weeks without my knowledge) they said they had “no idea why” and then charged me more money to restart the policy then cancelled my home AND auto policy a month after and said I owed $953+$100 for both policies. They rob you blind, DO NOT USE TD INSURANCE FOR AUTO OR HOME!
I had auto insurance with them since June 2022, in December my credit card has not got deducted for insurance amount which I have set on Auto pay. Hence, I haven't even bothered to check the statement.
In April 2023 I receive a letter from TD Bank of non-payment since December. I immediately called them and the customer care is like it's your fault, though I was having sufficient balance in my account.
In response to my statement, they said you have to get a letter from your bank that why payment has not been made.
Being a customer of them, Firstly they have informed me after 4 months with a letter, no email, nothing. Secondly, I being in a job seldom find time to run to banks to get clearance letter from bank to satisfy TD insurance that it wasn't my fault. What a customer service.
Now they had me red flagged for non-payment, stopping me to get insurance from other bank. I don't think TD insurance is good at customer service, but they are good at harassment.
I will never get back to TD Bank or insurance
My payments were preauthorizes and were going from 3 years. Then, my credit card gets lost and I forgot to update my card completely. They cancelled my policy for non-payment. They sent me a letter which unfortunately I never opened… It was called to renew, then I found my payments not going through. Then they said now your policy will be renewed with much higher rates. I cancelled my policy. They do not value customer, even though I cleared all the outstanding balances same day I found out my payments did not go through because of credit card changed.
After my credit card was stolen and the number changed, I tried to update it online on multiple occasions, and it wasn't being updated for pre-authorized payments. I contacted TD insurance multiple times to resolve the issue so that I won't accidentally miss payments. Once I thought the issue was resolved, turned out my payment information wasn't updated and I missed two payments and my insurance was canceled for non-payment. I haven't received any notice of cancelation to my email or phone, nor I was notified about missed payments. Contacting TD insurance produced no results and no I am facing the consequences.

The biggest scam. For one thing, the rate they quote is only the rate if you pay multiple months up front, otherwise it is much more expensive. Second they notified me that they were just randomly upping the price of my policy, 1 month into the policy and that they would not refund me any of the up front months that I had paid. Customer service was thoroughly unhelpful and took 20 minutes on the phone, even after I had navigated through their AI assistant finally.
