Dishonest company

10 year loyal customer for home and auto. 2 incidents (minor speeding, and minor 50% at fault fender bender. Cancelled my auto. You are nothing but a number to them and basic human decency is not a part of their business philosophy. Steer clear of this place.
This was my first company for auto insurance but in two months i realised that they are the extreme expensive one, they were charging me $654/month, and when i came to know that other companies they are asking me for only $270/month then i decided to cancel with them and they charged me $754 extra for cancellation and did not listen to me, i told them to give me the plan of 270 so i will continue with u but they are so rude and charged me extra 754 for cancelling with them, never ever go to them, just try some other companies then u will know the difference and u will see the real face of TD insurance.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Terrible company renewed my policy when I told them not to do it. It took two weeks and five phone calls to get it cancelled.....they wanted to charge me a cancellation charge.
I had TD auto insurance for over 5 years paying premiums to them and the moment I had a claim they systematically cancelled my auto insurance. This company is fraudulent. Michael
I can’t even begin. I have been trying to process the cancellation for my father who passed away for over a year, they do not want to issue any sort of refund. This company is a sorry excuse for a business.
I would never in a million years recommend them and if I could have given negative stars in this review I would. Although I can see their ratings are horrific, so I hope they just pack it in and stop destroying people's sanity with their terrible business practices.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
It has been so impossible to contact my TD Ins., I have had to cancel my insurance policy via snail mail ($11.35 Canada Post). I received a notice on Oct. 27th that this was done, and that I would be receiving a refund. Instead of a refund, they debited my account for the amount of the reimbursement. I have sent another registered letter ($11.35 Canada Post) to get the money back they took, to obtain my policy cancellation refund and to pay the postage costs I endured. To debit someone's account without authorization is illegal. The fact that this is done by a bank is worrisome. The letter was posted on Nov. 6th, I await a response.
The worst insurance provider. I have been charged thrice in a month. They cancelled and updated my policy without my concern and then said they tried to reach me but I never got any call. NEVER GET A INSURANCE FROM TD.
TD is all about money-making, I cancelled my insurance after having it for 3 days. I am a first-time driver and did not know you had to pay cancellation fees, this was never notified to me from the beginning. After I called to cancel, the guy who cancelled just cancelled it and came back saying I had to pay $284. This guy was heartless, their customer service is horrible, I would never go back with them. It is still cheaper for me to pay them and leave cause I've gotten a better deal elsewhere. I'm not surprised that there are so many bad reviews about them.
First off the customer service is horrible, every time I called I’d be on hold for 1 hour, and then they’d fumble around saying they couldn’t find my policy or my account. They didn’t send me a letter to renew my insurance, so I wasn’t aware if my car was insured or not, someone told me they’d call me back and they never did. Fast forward to when my car was stolen, I opened a claim and they closed it the next day, as my insurance didn’t cover car theft, I guess. So I tried to cancel my insurance, was on hold again, and they fumbled around saying they couldn't find my record, or my policy or anything under my name, I don’t know what database they’re working with but they need to update it. I cancelled it and they said they’d call me back after 5 PM the next day. The next day they call me before 5 PM and leave me a message to call them back. I call back and no one on the line knows why they called me or what to say because they couldn’t find any record of a cancelled policy. These people seem like they have no idea what they are doing, and do not care about their customers at all. They also sent me an email with the title “We are here for you” after they told me my insurance doesn’t cover stolen vehicles. (Way to rub salt in my fresh wounds, TD). Now I’m here without a car or money for it and right now I am more unimpressed by the customer service at TD than I am by the people who stole my car.

I got a quote of a bundled insurance (auto and condo) before I was purchasing my car. A fortnight later, I called in to inform TD that I would be taking possession of the condo soon and I'd like to give them my bank information. To my astonishment, the final quote was around 200$ more than the initial one.
I expressed my frustration with the customer service person. The person was all understanding and asked me to send in a retroactive cancellation application, promising there wouldn't be any fees. I work in risk management so I found this a happy surprise. With this promise from TD, I gladly sent in the document and called Lapersonal for a lower quote.
Several days later, I got two mails from TD. One telling me that my Condo insurance had been successfully cancelled, the other telling me I had to pay for my auto insurance in full.
Confused, I resent my document to TD asking them to verify since it was a cancellation for two policies.
A few days later, I got a mail from TD saying the auto insurance was cancelled, but I had to pay $180+ . I didn't even save that much money from switching to Lapersonal.
So I called in customer service again asking for an explanation. They told me what I had thought they would do when I asked about the cancellation: the $180+ was for the period from the inception of the policy to the date I sent in the cancellation. I WAS TOLD QUITE DIFFERENTLY BY THE TIME THE PERSON INSTRUCTED ME TO CANCEL THE POLICY.
The customer service told me to write down that I really wanted to cancel the policy and send the LaPersonal proof of insurance to them. I did so right away.
A few days later I received another bill. This time the money I "OWED" was $197.58! Not only nothing had been done to resolve the problem, I was charged interest!!
This is the worst experience I've had with any insurance company. What I experience is 100% fraud, once during the initial quoting period once during the cancellation. I'm seeking all the ways I can to have this bill write off but I don't have all the time in the world. Avoid this dishonest company at all cost.
