Don't buy from this company

1 out of 5 stars
Worst insurance providers ever. They deducted insurance money twice in 10 days. When called them to return the money, they just said it was just a mistake and will be returned in 10 business days. Fraudsters. The call agents don't even know what exactly to say. Every year my insurance went up instead of going down. Real scammers.
I would give negative stars if I could.
If you have issues with payments, they won't tell you. They will just cancel your insurance and let you drive around unknowingly - uninsured!
No phone call or email to try and get ahold of you to resolve the issue. I would expect that in such times they would try and work with their clients to accommodate the hard times that EVERYONE has fallen on.
They lie and say a payment was missed on a certain date as you are looking at your bank statement to verify what they are saying and how amazing to see the money was actually taken out.
Their group discounts are more of a trap. They are more expensive than other quotes and when you get the group discounts it brings you to slightly more expensive than others. I cancelled all my policies with them for good and moved to another company.
Worst car insurance company ever. Forced me to renew because I purchased a car for my wife. Just needed to transfer coverage but could not do this. Older retired couple here with everything budgeted. Caused huge financial hardship. When I cancelled after years of being a faithful customer they charged me a huge penalty!!! Thanks for nothing.
I have no words. I was with them for 15 years. Never filed a claim. Filed a hail claim for the first time, and everything went well until the very last step. I had one last problem and they couldn’t be bothered to fix it. Even reaching out to TD insurance and Claim resolution completely failed, again they couldn’t be bothered. Bye-bye! You just lost easily another 50 years of business from me, forever 🙂
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
We placed a claim in August last year. It's supposed to be 30 days payout I believe. Yet we have not been yet. Leaving our family without any transportation. For several months, even now. However, obtaining a rental was relatively easy. Until it was stolen. Still no reply or assistance on that claim. Following that our truck was then stolen out of the yard, and again. Still not able to cooparate claim. As Still on the first one from August 2021. Absurd
Your company stole thousands of dollars from me by lying about my insurance coverage and then your ombudsman who is supposed to handle issues NEVER contacted me after I asked them to. This has been years now where I have you guys lying to me in every conversation I had. I was told the recording of me asking for I strange was A)never existed since I never called, well I had the phone record proving I did. B)I called but didn't ask about my insurance which was an outright lie because the day I realized I was out of work and could hardly move I called the only two loans I had to make sure I had insurance. C)the call recording was corrupted and couldn't be reviewed. The company cost me thousands of dollars in a time of need when I was hurt and out of work and I will never stop mentioning it because everytime someone says "they will look into it" nothing ever happens. I paid for your services coming out of a bankruptcy and the interest was near 20% and you guys still felt like screwing me over for 6 months insurance coverage because of a mistake made by one of your employees. When I was finally able to walk again I was able to check my paperwork and noticed I had insurance all along. You guys are despicable. I will remember to post and warn others about your company frequently. Go ahead and try and charge me for slander for speaking the truth. Don't bother messaging me to "sort this out" as you have many times in the past and still always "regret to inform me there's nothing you can do" well there's nothing I can do but continue to spread my story.
My first communication with TD was that I should surrender my vehicle to TD as salvage and look for a different vehicle. I did not receive any information as to how much money they were paying me regarding this proposal. I have played phone tag ever since with several TD representatives. Phone calls go to voicemail. Emails are not answered. I have 2 estimates from reputable auto repair shops that gave an approximate figure of $7,500 to $8,200. After 3 weeks I finally reached a representative who said TD’s drive-in auto repair service centre’s estimate was $4000 higher than the estimates I received. Therefore they claim that my car is non-repairable and a total loss. I am asking them to change my claim as repairable because I have 2 auto body shops that said the damage is repairable. I am able to drive my vehicle. I was rear-ended. I will even take rebuilt status if I have to but after one month I am still waiting for a written confirmation from TD that they will change my vehicle to repairable and how much money they will pay me to fix my vehicle.
I know that they want to claim it as salvage because it’s an older vehicle but I don’t have the money to replace my low 150,000km vehicle. I bought it new. It’s in excellent condition. I am very upset by this whole situation. I don’t know if other insurance companies act the same way. I have never had a claim before. I am not impressed with TD’s customer service. They aren’t on my side. I am the victim of a rear-end crash and my own insurance company is not advocating for me.
Due to vehicle shortage, TD and the appraiser purposely decided on the "total loss" of my car.
The value of the car also is being lowballed and there is no chance to negotiate. TD has set up the situation with two bad options for me to choose from:
1) Sell the car for cheap. They will not re-evaluate the value of the car when asked!
2) Keep your broken car with a "salvage" title. You pay for the repair and costly process to re-brand the car from "salvage" to "rebuilt".
TD claim manager, Giselle Z. said: "TD has the right to determine if we will repair or offer a settlement". In my case, TD chooses not to repair my car. So which of the two losing options should I choose?
I have been with TD for over 10 years with zero claims. Now for a not-at-fault claim, I must fight just to have TD repair my car.
This is a $5000 case. Imagine what will TD do for a personal injury case?
I have escalated my case to the next level of the TD complaining process.
