TD Insurance is a dishonest company that will steal your money, as just happened to me.
Recently TD made an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account, in effect, an extra month’s payment.
After 4 phone calls, one when I was cut off, another when I was promised a call back by a manager, which never happened, I was informed that this was because their computer identified me as being a month behind in my payments. No one could explain how this could be true since I have been insuring my vehicle for 7 years with my monthly payments on automatic withdrawal from my bank account.
I have never missed a payment for both our vehicles and also our house insurance.
In addition, we have never made a claim in the 17 years we have had insurance with TD. Where’s the loyalty? Where’s the respect? My advice, stay clear of this insurance company. Thieves!
TD insurance is terrible. We went with them for our new vehicle told them we wanted full coverage for everything and anything that could happen. We got in an accident they told us if it was a written off we were not covered. We told them when we got the insurance that we asked to be covered for everything including write-off. They said they would review the tapes and get back to us it's been months we have called them twice and all they say is it's still under review. Luckily it was not a write-off and the car is fine. I would get rid of TD as soon as possible if I was you!!! Terrible service!!!!!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
They send you to a cheap repair shop and will not let you go to the dealers. They will charge you more and they will not tell you how much more. They are so hard to deal with. I will not stay with them
First, TD debited my bank account for my adult son's new car insurance even after I told TD not to charge my account for his insurance. When I noticed the deductions coming out of my account and I contacted TD, they informed me I needed to fax them, yes fax them a piece of paper with my signature and my son's signature on it to even discuss the matter. After multiple months and conversations, I decided to cancel my insurance with TD and they slapped me with a $250 penalty on my way out the door. As far as I'm concerned, the TD group of companies has no scruples. Beware.
I had them for two years. My rates kept shooting up. Then I had surgery, so-called customer service to get them to change my payment dates, they only changed for 1 month. So next month rolls around, I was on bed rest just having my surgery thinking my payments were moved because I did it previously… nope. They charged me it didn’t go through. So then, they charged me an NSF fee on top of it all. Reviewed previous convo (like having the murderer investigating his own crime scene) and said I never moved anything????? Ummm then how did my bank know about it then? Oh right, because I took like 2 hours the previous month to make arrangements with all my creditors to make sure it was handled before my surgery. My husband even heard the convo I had with TD. They lie. They will rip you off then act like it’s your fault. Gaslighting is a real issue with TD.
This company has been taking money from my account for over 7 months for a policy I had cancelled. I keep contacting them every month and they keep giving me the run around about how it’s their fault and they will return the money yet every month they keep taking the money. They will not fix the problem or reimburse me for the money they stole.
It worst experience I've ever had to deal with as a new claimant.
Not only was the adjustor not experienced but he had a lack of communication to inform me of certain things. I was out of my car for 2.5 months with no communication around the increase in the price of the work they were doing, from one tire not being fixed and being charged, to the rental coverage not covering a certain amount of days and now I'm being charged.
This experience has literally driven me to not proceed with TD as my Auto/Home experience nor recommend anyone to even go with them.
Scam of a company.
Not knowledgeable employees.
A money grabber.
Terrible experience.
It is literally the worst insurance if your banking through TD as well. I have had 2 payments bounce because apparently the banking fees taken out on the 31st come before a payment made on the 30th. They are crooks and have no real reception for people in tough times.
My first communication with TD was that I should surrender my vehicle to TD as salvage and look for a different vehicle. I did not receive any information as to how much money they were paying me regarding this proposal. I have played phone tag ever since with several TD representatives. Phone calls go to voicemail. Emails are not answered. I have 2 estimates from reputable auto repair shops that gave an approximate figure of $7,500 to $8,200. After 3 weeks I finally reached a representative who said TD’s drive-in auto repair service centre’s estimate was $4000 higher than the estimates I received. Therefore they claim that my car is non-repairable and a total loss. I am asking them to change my claim as repairable because I have 2 auto body shops that said the damage is repairable. I am able to drive my vehicle. I was rear-ended. I will even take rebuilt status if I have to but after one month I am still waiting for a written confirmation from TD that they will change my vehicle to repairable and how much money they will pay me to fix my vehicle.
I know that they want to claim it as salvage because it’s an older vehicle but I don’t have the money to replace my low 150,000km vehicle. I bought it new. It’s in excellent condition. I am very upset by this whole situation. I don’t know if other insurance companies act the same way. I have never had a claim before. I am not impressed with TD’s customer service. They aren’t on my side. I am the victim of a rear-end crash and my own insurance company is not advocating for me.
Their service is not good. They talked to me 313$. Now they are charging me 517$. I have no accident. I have two please tickets. My car price is just 6000$ just and an insurance monthly of 517$. It is profitable for my car...
