Overcharging

They charge more than your monthly insurance rate as they withdraw your payments as they please on different days each month. And after calling to ask why they took extra they say there is nothing they can do yet refund my entire payment the next day and when I called the next day they hang up in the wee as soon as I provided them with my account.

Worst experience ever, will never go back.

Terrible untrained service agents, unfriendly, condescending, incompetent. Can’t answer questions, don’t answer the phone, don’t respond to questions, don't return phone calls even when promised. Seem to create delays to prolong claim processing and delay payment. Agents do not seem to have the training, desire or authority to answer questions or to complete claim process. They repeatedly ask for more info, and transfer to another agents. I ultimately was required to speak to 13 different agents to get answers to questions and complete claim process. Agents seem focused on just keep delaying the process. Payout for my write-off vehicle took 7 weeks for incompetent TD agents to process, and was below market value. Despite their promises, the agents and managers showed no interest in 'helping' our situation at all.
UPDATE: We changed all of our insurance to a competitor who is polite, responsive supplier, coverage is better, personal contact is direct to same CSR every call, premiums 25% less than TDInsurance. WIN!

Worse Customer Service/relations

I would give them Zero stars! Run away from this company as fast as you can. They were trying to put after-market parts to a Brand new 2019 SUV with no prior damage, disregarding my wish to have original parts to maintain the vehicle's value and integrity. Extremely disappointed... "This is how you treat your customers of 10 years, with no previous claims?" Horrible customer service! They lost a customer with me.

Overpriced beyond any reasonable expectation

I was insured by Meloche Monex /TD for 20 years. Prices were climbing up on yearly basis without any meaningful explanations. The last jump was $2000 presumably for one speeding ticket $40 exceeding the speed by 10 km!?
Ridiculous explanation. Have to change it for another insurance. Loyalty is meaningless nowadays.

Recent claim adjusters refuse to be objective

TD representative before she had the police report. Before she had pictures of the vehicles. Deemed both parties would be 50 percent liable as there was no video evidence, eyewitnesses and conflicting statements. Then she wanted to know which body shop using...Then after not returning my calls for a week called the body shop and asked them to take pictures of the interior as they want to write the car off...

Worst, Worst, Worst Customer Service

For all other services, they are swift in emailing and calls, except when they want to cancel a policy. Suddenly that’s the time they decide not to update you firsthand; only sent you a post letter. I received a discount on the price initially, got hospitalized and payment got missed and they decided to cancel the policy - after a number of talks with the agents who were of no help and highly unaware of their own company’s policies. Ultimately I was told, I can cancel myself without any record of cancellation on my file if I go ahead and sign a new policy with them - however, I will not be eligible for any discounts on that policy! Really shady to get a customer off discounted price. Next to none customer service! Make sure to take time out to run after them on matters relating to your insurance!

They take you out of your rental then string you along for a month with no follow-up, no returned calls, no returned emails, then they won't even negotiate from their significantly low ball offer!!!
DO NOT USE TD AUTO INSURANCE!!

Insurance renewal

We’re trying to renew our insurance and they charged us right away and then we got a lower rate from another insurance company so we took it! Asking for a refund that they charged took 14 days! Just called them again they said another 5 business days!!!! Worst car insurance ever!!!

A bunch of scammers! They’re the modern-day mafia! Stay away! I had a simple accident and they tried to avoid covering it! You will need legal help dealing with any claim with this company! This is how horrible they are! Again.. stay away!

They don’t pick up calls no reply to emails and texts. Worst customer service. I called the advisor 5 times a day but no reply.
