Absolutely terrible customer service screwed me over twice and wouldn’t even take responsibility or fix it. Instead of trying to fix it they just cancel your policy. I’ve dealt with nothing but ignorance from them to. Will not ever recommend it.
I recommend don't take car insurance. If you go by the claim department they refuse some parts because they said this is not related to your accident

Do not go to this insurance. Never use any of their preferred shops for a repair. I've had 2 horrible experiences both with the shops and with the claims adjuster. One shop was bytek VW Ottawa and another was fixauto 417 Nissan. With VW the job was so bad insurance ended up buying out my car. The one with fixauto they go through managers like crazy and do anything to avoid fixing poor work and make excuses and as for the insurance don't expect them to do their jobs. The guy I had would take months to get back to me. I had an accident in 2019 brand new car and was still trying to get problems resolved in 2021 and got to the point I said screw it and traded in my car. The dealer used the poor work against me when purchasing my vehicle. This company also goes back in your history 10 years. Save yourself the trouble and try something else...
I’d give this car insurance NO STARS!! So I cancelled with them on July 19th, 2021 the man I spoke with said I’ll have a payment coming out Aug 28 2021 of 57.02 now all of a sudden I have to pay 350$? They said I have to pay for the days missed which means. I have to pay for the services from July till September. September was the end date of my policy. I asked to see where in the policy it says this. But they said they can only show me the breakdown of the payments. I just don’t understand this, the billing department of this car insurance says there isn’t any cancellation fee at all. They are telling me different things. I feel like this is theft!!!
Insurance company backing down from their words. And not paying for the rental. Even after stating in the policy, they will cover. Gave me trouble even on not at-fault accident. Really bad experience I’ll have to pay 2k from my pocket just for rental.
I’ve been with Desjardins for 14 years and finally came to the realization they have been overcharging me on car insurance all these years! I can see why! Just type in “Desjardins class action” in Google and you’ll see how deplorable of a company they are. Worst customer service in the industry, policies are way overpriced, they don’t honour loyalty (I guess nobody does these days), claims team is probably rewarded for how many claims they figure out how to deny or pay less for. When you actually need them, they do their best not to help. Stay far away from. Go with anyone else but them. They are legal scam artists and cons!
Very bad experience and the customer care executives are not well trained. I spoke to one guy regarding my insurance payment and he was really rude and yelling at me. This is the way to treat the customers I don’t understand their attitude. They are just making money. I never recommend this place to anyone.
This is the worst company to get information about your billing amounts and cancellation information. No one can explain how these are calculated, agent, billing department or their complaint department. They like passing you I think in the hopes you go away. Their premiums are atrocious we have saved over $2000 by switching to another carrier.
Every year renewal, they treat their clients like ATM, even without any claims, and perfect record. I have switched to another company when they had raised my rate by 66 dollars for no reason. They just want your money. Stay away from them!!!
I’m from Ottawa I have had an accident in Toronto I had an extremely nice experience with everybody I contacted from Desjardin Insurance! They were extremely friendly and helpful! Claim processing was quick and effective!
