ALLSTATE SUCKS

by shellbell1234 on Nov 23, 2017

ALLSTATE should not even be allowed to be a useable company anymore. TERRIBLE! They are all clueless, and you call ten times to get one thing done when each person you talk to says "it's all taken care of" just to find out they DID NOTHING! I HATE this company with a deep passion, it is ridiculous how they run. Started with them and my prices kept going up, then they always had some stupid policy rate saver they had me signed up for (which they told me nothing about just told me my price) and then it'd go up three months later and they said "well you had this discount on there and never signed up for the app or online" well the fact that I didn't know I had this discount on there and I had to follow up to keep it - how could I?! And then, "oh, well, it's too late, it's gone, up 30plus dollars a month". Then after a separation, they took 4 months to get my car and his car separated in policies, I got double charged for my car and his, and then they let him call in, change my address and email, and ADD himself to my policy! CRAZY! Then I got into a car accident, two cars hit me, they were at fault and it took claims a week, A WEEK, to get in contact with me and I had a MINOR IN THE CAR! They don't care at all, I called my agent 6 times to tell him I couldn't get ahold of anyone in claims department and he never returned my call EVER. WHAT THE HELL AM I PAYING YOU FOR?! So my accident was 9/2/17 today it is November 22, 2017 and I just got my estimate over their stupid app QUICKPHOTOS and it said not over my deductible, so I have to pay it all! I'M THE ONE WHO GOT HIT, WHEN DOES THE PERSON WHO GOT HIT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING! AND TWO MONTHS LATER?! Both front and back bumper are popped off and my Driver side door won't open. I have to call through and they give no area to write comments on their app for their estimate, so they have no idea that the bumper clips are broken and the door won't open and my CLAIMS IDIOT DIDN'T EVEN NOTE IT. She takes forever to call back, knows nothing, and can't get anything done. Thanks for never ever calling me back. I can't wait till my car is fixed so I can kick this sorry excuse for a company to the curb. Must have "qualifications: incompetent, lazy, awful attitude" on their applications because that's how they are! Spare it, if it seems cheaper upfront - it won't be, they won't be there for you and your price will go up monthly with NO EXPLANATIONS. Stay clear of this.

Frustrated beyond belief!

Words are just not enough to explain the horrible mistreatment and bullying I got from this company not to mention they have screwed my record up and refuse to do anything about it. It all started when one day I woke up to go downstairs to my garage and notice that my car was not at its parking spot. I called building security and management they could not find out what had happened the cameras were pointing in the other directions and someone had apparently stolen my car. I then proceeded to call the police and made a theft report with them, they advised to call my insurance company and see if they would compensate me for my losses. Upon making the call to my insurance company they first quietly asked me all the information about the vehicle and my personal information; as we got close to the end of our call (nearly after 30 minutes) the agent tells me that sorry we cannot cover you for theft because you only had liability insurance on the vehicle. (It took her 30 minutes to realize that). Anyways what's gone is gone I swallowed the harsh pill and went about my business and took over my wife's vehicle to go to work and back as she was on maternity leave. 2 weeks later I receive a letter from the insurance company stating that they will be cancelling my policy because of misrepresentation. I called the office and could not get a hold of anyone for a week, finally fed up I show up at their office and speak to their manager, who tells me the misrepresentation is for the fact that I had told them my wife lives in the states (Lying to my face). When I told them this is a lie my wife just delivered our first baby here in Canada and that we are happily married and living together ever since we got married. They changed their story and said we apologize for the mistake and we will issue this letter to you that states there was no misrepresentation so long as you give us an email that states you the insured requested the cancellation. Believing their lies we did just that wrote them an email stating to cancel our insurance, and that's the last I spoke to the manager. She apparently went on a "life long" vacation and handed the file back to the same agent who had put the misrepresentation on my file in the first place. Here is where I stand. I have a cancellation on my file and 1 misrepresentation. I have a letter from them stating the cancellation was not for misrepresentation but at the clients own request. No other insurance company will cover me. Oh, wait it is not done yet. So, I lost my car from theft and now the place where my wife leased her car from is saying they are going to take the vehicle back because it is currently uninsured and they cannot let us keep it. So now I have no vehicle and I have to take a bus to work and back. Its only been a week and I'm seriously considering taking them to court. I have never been to court and neither do I have a good job to afford a good lawyer. I'm completely at a loss and don't know what to do. I have been driving for 15 years now I have no accident on my file no tickets and I cannot find insurance... If you are thinking about Allstate, well, I don't know what to tell you. I can tell you to run away far away from this company. If anyone can give me a tip as to how to deal with this situation I would really appreciate it very much.

Theft insurance

I had my truck stolen and Allstate tried using a loophole in their contract by saying that because my truck was rear-ended before and even though it was with my old insurance company and fixed they refused to cover my stolen truck because they said it had a prior damage history... WHAT A JOKE they are the worst and are worse crooks then who stole my truck.

Auto claim

Just don't even buy their product! G-d forbid you have to file a claim. I have never been treated so poorly in my whole life! I've had this insurance company for 22 years. Homeowners and auto policies. A recent wind storm damaged my classic car, so I file a claim because I can't even see out of the windshield. First I'm told just because I have insurance doesn't mean they have to fix it. What?! Then I'm called a liar because there is no way this was damaged the way I say it was. Wow, really? Just because you're a man, you think it's ok to bully a woman who is being completely honest with you about this claim. I own a classic car that I keep fully insured. So they don't want to repair it. Well, if you don't want to repair a classic car, then don't allow me to insure it. It's quite simple, I could go with another insurance company then and not have to deal with your treatment. The only other claim I filed was many years ago, and once again I was accused of lying about a break in to my home. They paid the claim (about 30% of it, that is), then continued to send me accusatory letters to be 'sure to let us know if these items magically appear'! Wow! I just can't even. If I treated people like that in my job, I would be fired immediately. But it's ok if you pay your money and don't ask for anything in return. Sounds a bit like a mafia, doesn't it?

Your're in Good Hands.Big Joke

"You are in Good Hands with Allstate...” What A BIG JOKE!! My truck had a hit-and-run done to it and, because I let my son drive it in the past, they have declared my policies on all three on my vehicles void and refused to pay for damages. The adjuster came to my house and treated my wife and I like criminals. Accusing us of lying and trying to fraud the company. I have been waiting for six weeks for a reply and finally got one. I have paying insurance premiums for 35 years with very minimal claims and this is the way you get treated. All insurance companies pretend they are your friend but I am telling you to never trust an agent, adjuster or other employee of the company. Avoid Allstate Insurance because you are not in good hands…

avoid this company!!

Based on my experience with this company as a victim of a car accident with an allstate policy holder, I will never ever recommend this company to anyone.I was not at all at fault for this accident, a lady ran the red light and hit my car. They want to cover only 80 % of the damage and on top, I'm stuck with the rental car expenses.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Nightmare

by Frank on Mar 3, 2017

Hi, My name is Frank from Calgary. Our neighbor backed into our rusted 2000 Dodge Durango which was parked in front of our house across the street from her driveway. So we called our insurance company, Allstate, and went to North Star Ford auto body shop to get the repair done. After 2- 1/2 weeks we began to wonder what was going on, so we called the auto body shop. They told us that the vehicle would be a write off, and an appraiser at Allstate would be assessing it soon. I also talked to the mechanic who said it was a 3200 dollar repair. Another couple of weeks went by without any calls, so we called Allstate to see how much of a pay out we would be receiving. They told me that it might not be a write off, and it was appraised as 2600 dollars damage, but it could be a while before they will know for sure. I made it known to her that the vehicle was not worth the 2600 dollar repair she quoted, but she was not encouraging at all. So after waiting for a reply back, another week passed by and nothing. I called to see what was going on, to which Allstate replied, the vehicle was assessed as not being a write off and repairs are under way.

We had waited so long that we ended up buying another vehicle and had asked if North Star could perhaps sell the vehicle for us since the repairs had already begun. A few days later we got a call from the North Star Mechanic who proceeded to tell me that they had a used car dealership look at the vehicle and would not offer more than 600 dollars for it. He told me that it had been a nightmare from day one going back and forth with Allstate and that it should have been written off at the very beginning. How could the appraiser have valued the car at 3400 when it is not worth more than 600 to a used car dealer? I waited for so long and had such an ordeal that I am writing this to deter anyone from going through the same thing I went through with Allstate insurance. I will likely be looking for a new insurance company. Any suggestions?

A deceiving offer

by CheckThem on Jan 25, 2017

I got a quote from Allstate for my car insurance. The price was a lot cheaper than my current policy so I checked, and after few corrections I got the application papers to sign. However they didn't match the quote. Lots of prices were higher and some of the components were missing. However, they didn't inform me about these changes but just to get me sign it without reading it again. But I did. I corrected and resent and still, I got the same "mistakes". Corrected again and got the following response: "if I will put the true date of when you got your license (2012) the rate of the policy won't be attractive anymore. I was trying to help you by putting a different date (2010). if you will have a claim, they will never investigate when exactly you got your license". The thing is, that on 2010, I didn't live in Canada!!!
So, basically the company itself (a salesman named Ahmad K. and calls himself Tom) used false information without letting me know (I found out because I checked every time) to catch a new client (me).
Be careful when you deal with these folks and CHECK! CHECK! CHECK!

Terrible insurance company

by sfsfsf on Jan 5, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

Allstate is by far the worst (car) insurance company on the face of the earth. Not only did they take weeks to claim liability in an accident that I had no involvement with, but they also did not keep me updated throughout the process at all. My car was parked and hit by someone they insure. I never received a single phone call throughout the entire process. I had to independently call every time I wanted an update and try to speed up the process.
After finally claiming liability and I am given the okay to take my vehicle to the body shop to be repaired, the insurance adjuster decided to take 2 weeks to make his way out to the body shop and approve the additional damages the body shop found. He then called me and tried to blame the holdup on the body shop. This happened multiple times. I just recently received a phone call from the body shop stating that the adjuster ordered defective junkyard parts to use on my vehicle, rather than OEM parts that I was told would be used.
The repairs were only scheduled to take 8 days, excluding the weekend. My car has been sitting at the body shop collecting dust since 11/30/2016. Today will be the 36th day it has been there. After the final supplement was sent to Allstate, the estimated completion date was 12/31, until the adjuster took his sweet time to look over the damages and send over the defective parts.
Now to the best part. Given I would be without a car for supposedly 8 days, I accepted a rental car from a rental company I also will not name. Allstate, which they should regardless, agreed to pay for the rental until my repairs were complete. Come to find out, Allstate decided to not add an extension on the rental after 12/20 and I was partially charged by the rental company for these days. I am in no way blaming the rental company. Was I informed by Allstate that this would happen? You guessed it, I never received a single phone call or email about the non-extension. A couple of days later I was charged the full amount for the rental since the 20th, which totaled several hundred dollars. After contacting Allstate about the issue, they characteristically beat around the bush and stated that they couldn’t reopen the contract for the extension and I would have to pay the charges and be reimbursed by them for the charges. I did not even receive an apology for any of this whatsoever. If my car would be fixed within the next 11 days, which is the new time frame on the newly found damages, the total rental cost would be close to $800. Again, for a collision I had zero liability for. No one should have to pay that kind of money, let alone a student that is about to start another semester at college and has to pay for his books, car payment, car insurance, and gas. After staying in contact with the rental company, they consistently stated that Allstate was nearly impossible to reach and a hassle to deal with. The rental company told me that when they did reach Allstate, they said that I should call them every day asking for an extension. It is your responsibility to take care of the claimant. Not the other way around.
Allstate, you have been terrible throughout this entire process and I hope everyone gets the chance to hear about it. I once was insured through your company and I am glad I switched when you decided to raise my rates significantly for no apparent reason. Based on these I will also NEVER return as a customer. I will let everyone I can know of how your wronged me and hopefully push away potential customers and affect your bottom line. Because in the end that seems to be all you care about, right?

With them for twenty years...

by Michel on Oct 17, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

I've been with all-state for twenty years. Never made a claim with them until two weeks ago. I was rear-ended in traffic, while at a dead stop, completely the other persons fault. So I call my Allstate insurance on Friday, Night September 30th, 2016, after the accident. They tell me not to worry that a claims adjuster would get in touch with me first thing Monday morning, no one calls. Tuesday rolls around, I start making calls, get the run around, Allstate people telling me, Oh! don't worry your adjuster will get in touch with you, no one calls. Weds. comes, makes some calls, I reach an adjuster, who was not originally assigned to me but decides to approve my claim and gives me a rental car. All happy, he tells me to take my car to this collision center to appraise the damages. A week goes by, not a peep, then I get a call from a an all-state total loss adjuster, my car is being written-off, and in two days they are cancelling my rental car, regardless of whether I accept their low ball offer. They offer 1500 for a car worth at least 5000. They then begin threating me to accept the offer or they are taking the rental car away. I tell them that I need a car for my job and that my policy stipulates a car rental. I am the victim of a car accident where I was absolved of fault by the police, and my insurance company is forcing me to walk everywhere on foot! This is my first claim ever, moreover I've been with the same company for twenty years. They refuse to budge on the low ball offer; as a result, they are forcing me to take them to small claims court, I am suing my own insurance company All-state for property damages to my car. This is my all-state experience in a nutshell. My family is changing insurance company, my wife and I are cancelling our house insurance with them etc...

Un-ethical Corporate Nazis, out to swindle unsuspecting citizens.
