HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! 0 STARS!

Allstate is a company I would warn everyone about…. While accidents happen you would like to think that your insurance company will be there to help you through the process. Allstate is not that company. After being in a vehicle accident I did what everyone is supposed to do, call in. I spent a half-hour on hold and then another 45 minutes completing my claim with the agent on the phone. I was told I would get a call within 2-3 days. After a week and still no call, I call in AGAIN. Again on hold for 30minutes only to have the agent pick up and drop my call. So AGAIN I call in and am on hold. Once patched through I speak with the agent to ask why no one has called me? Guess what! The agent couldn’t find my claim ANYWHERE!!! So there we go again, spending another 45 minutes completing my claim, AGAIN! The agent said I would get a call within 2-3 days. Guess what?! Yup, no call after a week and a half. So, looks like I have to do all the work. I reach back out with the person that was supposed to contact me (because I made sure this time to have the claim agent give it to me). The claims person apologized and said that there was a different agent involved who is handling it and would have them reach out to me. More waiting! That person took another 3 days to FINALLY reach out to me and would take another 3 days to be able to schedule our sit down where they take my statement. After I gave them my statement they said they would update me on the status in the next 3-4 days. Did they? Nope. It was 2 and a half weeks before they would call me. When they called me on a Wed and left a voicemail I called back and had to leave them a voicemail. I had to recall them again the next day, still no answer. They didn’t call me back until the following Tuesday!! Really? Almost a week! While this was happening there were continual disappointments with the partners they work with. They suggested there preferred collision repair center. Why? Because they put their customers in a faster queue getting the work done more quickly then if I was to take it in and that all the work is insured. I said great, getting this all taken care of is ideal. Well again ...more issues!!! After I called the agent the second time letting them know that the repair center had not contacted me they told me to call them. So I did. They were able to see me in 2 days. The process was quick and was told that they would submit the report for Allstate to approve and would order the parts and confirm within 7 days when to bring my car in. Well, I emailed the repair shop and left a voicemail (since I couldn’t speak with an agent) after a week and a half after not hearing anything? I didn’t get a call back nor a response to my email. I called back in after a couple more days to speak with someone who said they lost my report and would have to call me back. They didn’t call me back. I waited a day and a half before calling them again. They said they just ordered the parts!!! And they were supposed to be the fastest service???? I doubt it. I was able to bring in my car in 2 days and was told anytime after 9 am. I wasn’t told how long my car would be under repair until I was bringing it in. In short, if you like: continually wasting your time on the phone, calling people that should be calling... That SAID THEY WOULD CALL YOU! And talking to people that can’t give you information, explain the process and what you should expect along the way then I say have at it. Waste your time, money, and most importantly your sanity. Want to know how long this who process took from starting the initial claim till my vehicle being completed and all being taken care of? 58 days. YES!!! TWO MONTHS!!!! That is insane. They told me my car would be fixed within 2 weeks of starting my claim? The people employed from the claim agent to the appraisers and adjusters are poorly trained, lack customer service capabilities and do not know how to make right their errors. Sorry doesn’t cut it. You wasted my time and that is money. I wanted to share this with anyone in hopes that I can save them from the unbelievably poor experience and mental stress from having to deal with them!!! After reading everyone else's experiences it sounds like this is typical for them....no response, dropped calls, not returning calls, incorrect information being given. They need to hire and train people properly!!!

Cheaper for a reason...

Allstate was fine, and much cheaper than alternatives, up until somebody backed into me while I was stopped in a parking lot. I'd have been better off with no insurance. Key points: - Very unresponsive. Do not call when they say they will. Do not respond to emails. Do not respond to voicemails. - Disconnected on half of phone calls while on hold. - They suggest I will not be found at fault, but then settle otherwise at 50/50. Between half the deductible and the absurd premium increase I'm now facing upon renewal, it's exceeded the actual repair cost. - Resist paying rental car fees, even though well under my coverage limit. Timeline: Sun. June 30 3pm: Collision occurs. Sun. June 30 4pm: Reported to Allstate, indicate they don't think I'd be at fault, say an adjuster will follow up by July 2 end of day. Does not happen. Fri. July 5: Call Allstate to find out why I have not been contacted. Told I will be contacted by an adjuster by Mon. July 8 end of day. Does not happen. Tues. July 9: Call Allstate to find out why again I have still not been contacted. They can't find my claim and hang up on me when transferring me to a different department. Tues. July 9: Call Allstate again. Get through and have to repeat everything previously stated June 30. Person I talk to takes over the file and provides me their contact info and a claim number. Again indicates they don't believe I'd be found at fault based on my description. Thur. July 18: Receive call from Allstate adjuster stating 50/50 fault finding. I question it. Get authorization for repair work. Sat. July 20: I send diagram and request clarification regarding fault finding via email. Tues, July 30: Drop off vehicle for repairs. Thur Aug 1: I follow up with request for a response/acknowledgement of my email. Fri. Aug 2: Receive email response indicating I was found partially at fault because I said I was stopped rather than moving forward. Fri. Aug 2: Told repairs complete, but find not everything repaired when I go to pick it up. They keep it to fix those items. Tues. Aug 6: Vehicle is now fully repaired and ready to pick up. Rental vehicle is returned. Fri. Aug 9: Enterprise informs me Allstate refusing charges after Aug 2. Fri. Aug 9 - Thur. Aug 15: Email, leave voicemails, and try calling Allstate adjuster 5+ times. Receive no responses from Rhea Perez. Thur. Aug 15: Call general line. Disconnected while on hold after 20 minutes the first time. Get through to somebody a second time after 10 minutes, who then disconnects me when placed on hold to make a call to the body shop. She calls back and gets the rental car coverage extended to the 6th.

DO NOT TRUST.

I had been with Allstate for a couple of years and had no issues until my accident. I got in an accident in December and the guy didn’t have valid registration, and all his brake lights were out. I was being behind him, I was “at fault” regardless of my report. After filing a claim and not hearing back for a few months I called my insurance company. They had told me my the other party was filing an injury claim . I asked if this would affect my rates and she refused to answer. Then a few weeks later, got an email that he was dropping the injury claim and just wanted to fix his vehicle. Another two months of not hearing anything and after sending a quote for damages on my vehicle I called back again. They had closed my claim, assuming I wasn’t fixing my vehicle. Found out they paid for a week of rental for the other party AND PAID AN INJURY CLAIM PAY OUT. All of this was done behind my back and no communication! It took until JUNE to get my vehicle fixed. THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE AND WILL DO THINGS UNPROFESSIONAL. No point on having “full coverage” if they never call back or deal with issues properly.

Allstate is Garbage

Horrible experience. Won't be coming back. Got in an accident on September and am barely getting my truck back and it's December and I wasn't at fault. Allstate won't back you up for anything. They just expect their payment every month while you're not even getting your rental, and basically struggling with transportation. Basically, going broke driving around my pops v8 when my car is in the shop being repaired with no rental to get me back and forth. Most inconsiderate and incompetent insurance. Put it this way, I wasn't at fault and the police report also says that I'm not, and because the person at fault doesn't want to accept responsibility for 3 MONTHS NOW the repair shop expects me to pay $542 to get my truck back. The insurance company at fault that has sapped me of my college year is pretty much Winning and I was the one rear-ended. I'm missing classes, and my scores are dropping. This company called Allstate is selfish and expects their 300 by the end of their month, but when you really need them it feels like they're hiding behind their desk. If you want to be outclassed by a low budget insurance when you get in an accident, then Allstate is for you.

Not in good hand!

I had a small accident last month with another car backed up on my car from a roadside parking lot while I was driving with full right of way causing a fender bender. The agent worked impressively hard trying everything to save Allstate cost: 1. Took a keyword "slowly backup" from the statement as evidence that I should have enough time and responsibility to avoid the accident; 2. Called the body shop asking for cheap repair instead of asking for professional repair. 3. Pushed 20% responsibility my way only based on the other party's statement regardless the facts I provided to prove it is 100% fault of the other party. I have learned two lessons from experience with Allstate: 1. Stay away from Allstate as their primary motivation is to save cost for Allstate; 2. Stay away from the cars insured by Allstate, because you will always have to have responsibility regardless of what kind of accident it is.

Lied about my car repair

by Eduardo garcia on Nov 29, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

On September 3rd our car was in a car accident, Allstate wanted us to use their own body shop (certified collision) they brainwashed us (our mistake) to use their body shop because they said it was going to have lifetime warranty and be faster, so after they gave us an estimate and promised our car would be ready in 4 weeks...4 weeks later they told us that it wasn’t ready yet, by that time our car rental period was over, so we had to find another car to drive while my car was getting fixed, then after another week they kept saying it wasn’t ready, then we spoke to the shop manager of the body shop and he said the guy that was working on the car “dropped the ball” on our vehicle and they needed to have someone else start to work on it and finish it, and the shop manager stated he needed another 4 weeks to finish the project because it was just too big! So weeks passed and almost 3 months later, also AllState giving us excuses and not answering our questions (Tonna M our insurance agent being rude and making unnecessary comments and non-professional comments like how that happened to her when she was young and she got over it etc etc instead of helping us out (she also stated that she would never take her car to that shop, so how did she expect us to be safe and happy with this car?), then finally they gave me my car back on November 15, almost 3 months after! Can’t believe how nice they are while collecting the monthly payment but once you get into an accident where it wasn’t even your fault, they don’t help you at all and don’t care about you as a customer. The original estimate to repair was $12,000, so Allstate didn’t want to pay me full price for my car because they said that still was repairable because it had no frame Damage and because it wasn’t more than 80% of the value of my car which for my car I paid around $16,000 just around 2 months before the accident. So when I received my car back, the body shop manager showed me and gave me copies of how much they spent to repair my car and the total is $17,100, that’s more of what I paid for my car! But this is not it, after I picked up my car I went to CarMax to get an appraisal to see how much is worth now if I want to trade it in, because my family and I don’t feel safe In the car anymore, and at CarMax our appraisal offer is for only $10,000 ! They explained in a very detailed manner that our car has obvious frame damage on multiple sections of the car frame and they don’t even buy those cars with frame damage to resell, they could buy my car for $10,000 and they would have to send it to an auction right away, they were so amazed to know how an auto insurance lied to us about the car not having frame damage and being repairable for more money of what the car cost, CarMax people told us it is not safe at all to be driving the car with my 1-year-old baby in it. Please be aware of ALLSTATE and the way they handle their business. Also, we got a few calls from Our agent manager named Brandon P and he was being rude saying that they couldn’t do anything and that we had to keep the car and offering a $250 check after everything that they put us through like that was going to make me feel safer in this car. I hope nobody else goes thru this, better spend more money for a better insurance like AAA than deal with these liars and their sketchy and non-responsable shops, I will never recommend Allstate to anyone anymore and I’ll never go back!

Worst company ever

Avoid this company, they will steal your money. You can not do a claim even if it is not your fault because it will increase 75%. They have colluded with vehicle repair centers. Both agreed an amount of damages that doesn't exist in your car. When you try to talk with some representative they never show up or call you again.

The worst Insurance Company

by Jawid on Mar 25, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

I had an accident 5 month ago. Wasn't my fault, I had to pay deductible till they get the police report. It's been 5 months, the car is been fixed. Not only they didn't pay back my deductible but they didn't pay to body shop either. Now body shop keeps calling me to pay for the car that been fixed because insurance company are not getting back to them.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Nightmare

by Frank on Mar 3, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

Hi, My name is Frank from Calgary. Our neighbor backed into our rusted 2000 Dodge Durango which was parked in front of our house across the street from her driveway. So we called our insurance company, Allstate, and went to North Star Ford auto body shop to get the repair done. After 2- 1/2 weeks we began to wonder what was going on, so we called the auto body shop. They told us that the vehicle would be a write off, and an appraiser at Allstate would be assessing it soon. I also talked to the mechanic who said it was a 3200 dollar repair. Another couple of weeks went by without any calls, so we called Allstate to see how much of a pay out we would be receiving. They told me that it might not be a write off, and it was appraised as 2600 dollars damage, but it could be a while before they will know for sure. I made it known to her that the vehicle was not worth the 2600 dollar repair she quoted, but she was not encouraging at all. So after waiting for a reply back, another week passed by and nothing. I called to see what was going on, to which Allstate replied, the vehicle was assessed as not being a write off and repairs are under way.

We had waited so long that we ended up buying another vehicle and had asked if North Star could perhaps sell the vehicle for us since the repairs had already begun. A few days later we got a call from the North Star Mechanic who proceeded to tell me that they had a used car dealership look at the vehicle and would not offer more than 600 dollars for it. He told me that it had been a nightmare from day one going back and forth with Allstate and that it should have been written off at the very beginning. How could the appraiser have valued the car at 3400 when it is not worth more than 600 to a used car dealer? I waited for so long and had such an ordeal that I am writing this to deter anyone from going through the same thing I went through with Allstate insurance. I will likely be looking for a new insurance company. Any suggestions?
