Was the third party in the accident, someone run a red and hit a minivan crossing on a green pushing him into me.
Was towed to the reporting center, made the report then towed to a collision repair shop. Phoned Allstate to report the accident and was assigned a claim advisor.
The next day a senior claim advisor called and told me I have to sign a release for them to take the car back to their preferred repair shop or I’ll have to pay for the storage
Asked about the claim but was told it’s not her department but offered me a settlement for the car sight unseen. Still no response from my assigned advisor after numerous phone messages and emails or her manager, then a cheque arrived with no investigation or dialogue
Lodged a complaint with their Ombudsman but no response. What kind of a company is this? Now I have to hire a lawyer to clean this mess up. Stay away from this company at all costs.
Please note they don't refund the deductible if you had an accident with a person. Why because they can not claim against the third person so your money would not be refunded. Very unfair! It is not acceptable.
Very very unfair. And the supporting thing is that it is not in your agreement.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I was a good client for years. Always paid on time but I recently went through a medical trauma and was unable to pay one time on time and I was removed. I paid the remainder of my fee soon after and they said I could get back in but after several calls to them I was told that I was not accepted. I waited months to hear from them and they couldn’t be bothered to tell me. I would never recommend this terrible insurance company.
Phone waiting too long... I can't reach (one-hour waiting), no e-mail answer over 2 months... They not fix small damage. High payment...
I was in a no-fault accident. The bumper is damaged and costs about $4000 to repair. I did everything I was supposed to and when I wasn’t hearing back I called them and was told I had to keep waiting because there was a problem with the guilty party’s insurance. Months go by and nothing. I call again and I was told I had no claim and no accident was reported. I ended up leaving Allstate and they kept billing me and I had to fight them on that and I won. A few years later talking to a corporate lawyer and my story came up. He suggested I sue, but unfortunately, there’s a two-limit to doing that. I figured I would contact them again and see what they had to say. They admitted I reported the accident and had it on record and claimed that they made one single phone call to me, but at the time they did that number was no longer in service. I requested all the phone records as they record their calls and I have my phone bills to show the times dates and lengths of the calls it turns out they destroyed all the recordings. They still refused to fix my vehicle which I can’t sell due to the damage.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I’m in Toronto and I got into an accident almost 3 weeks ago. I still have not spoken to an advisor or anyone working on my claim only customer service, despite my many phone calls and emails to my advisor, rentals, etc… My car sat in the pound for 2 weeks and I had to call every day to make sure it eventually got towed to the mechanic. The estimate from the mechanic was quick but now I have to wait for the adjuster to review it and make a decision…. I’m sure I’ll be waiting at least another week for them to do that. Meanwhile, I’m driving a rental that I only have a month to drive because of my rental allowance. This company is so slow, and they do not care to actually help its customers. I have no idea what I will do after next week if my car is not fixed or if I have something, anything to drive by next week.
Very selfish and greedy insurance company. The company's policy is very bad for the clients. The customer service is bad, I made a claim this year they said somebody will call me back but for more than a month nobody call me. I've been with them since 2014, and never had any claims until this year 2022 I have two small claims totaling about $3000. Just because of these two claims and a speeding ticket in 2020, they immediately decided to kick me out and not renew my policy. I have been driving for 18 years and have been with different insurance and this is the worst insurance I have. Be careful to deal with this company. They don't want you to make any claim otherwise you got kicked out.
I initially went with Allstate for car and content insurance. My rate was good. I had an older car with zero safety features. I moved to another city and my rate went from 95/month to 160/month. Which was ridiculous. My car then completely died. It took me two weeks to find a new vehicle. I finally found a brand new car with ALL the safety features. An excessive amount of safety features is brand new with 40km on it and my insurance went up to 250/month. How is this okay? I get a brand-new car with all the safety features and winter tires and you jack the price up. It's ridiculous. I've switched. Never ever again. You're a rip-off.
I would like to mention insurance agent Sherri. She goes above and beyond for her customers. I have referred her to many of my clients, in need of auto insurance. She never disappoints. She is an asset to the company, caring for her customers, in a friendly professional manner. Thanks, Sherri!
The person who I talked to had very bad communication skills. Besides, the offers they provided were way higher than what I got from other companies.
