Worst Customer Service

Have been using this App for just over a month; They are quick to add "Phantom Driving Events" which take away 10% from your projected discount benefit but very stingy in giving 1% back at a time. Have had 3 "Phantom" events recorded in just 3 weeks. No way I had any hard stop or hard start, but one trip recorded TWO events! Do not trust this App - suggests a consumer scam to me. Something to convince you to insure with Intact, you think you'll get all these wonderful discount rewards in a year, but then they tabulate "Phantom" events to take it away.
I was in a car accident, not my fault a truck hit me from behind, ripped my rotary cuff, I also suffered whiplash, Intact fools around not getting me the proper care. I am in minor injury unable to lift, unable to do laundry, comb my hair, put a bra on, I suffer severe migraines and also vertigo. My doctor and physiotherapist can't believe I am still under minor, where it should have been non-catastrophic. 5 months later my car isn't fixed, I just bought the car 5 months prior and it has electrical problems and unsafe to drive, what a nightmare. I had to hire a lawyer, I am on a fixed income, I am now insulated in the house and can't go anywhere. Pay More money to your insurers, it's better in the long run!! INTACT maybe cheap but they don't look after you, they lowball you, they are hoping you quit and give up !!! Cheap is not always the best way to go !!!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
After cancelling my insurance with my broker and filling out the appropriate cancellation form, about a month later I received a registered letter saying there is an outstanding payment of $31. It has no phone number or any instructions on how to make the payment. My broker did not mention any late payments or any fees for cancelling the policy. After being a loyal customer for 5 years with no claims, this is the customer service they provide. I'm glad I never actually had to make a claim.
My wife after several years of dealing with a broker, received her renewal policy in July 2017. The price she paid last year was $509 with Intact. The broker switched the former insurance company to Intact. She has never had an insurance claim in over 25 years and now Intact wanted $642 for a year older car and with the same coverage. This is a ridiculous increase of slightly over 26%. Intact is ripping us off. I cancelled them for our house insurance, my vehicle insurance and my RV. Do not use or fall for Intact's TV advertising that they pardon you for 2 claims if you are a new customer. You stop being a new customer after the first year & then you become an old customer – a subject to their price increases. This is how they get new customers. Don't hear too many good comments / reviews about them. Stick with another company!! Please!
I was in a single vehicle accident in the winter time. When I called the claims department of Intact Insurance, first off, no one asked me if I was alright or injured. In case someone that works there actually cares... I'm fine. The representative first started off by saying that any object on the road or the side of the road is 100% avoidable. Which is nonsense! I responded by saying if I didn't hit the hydro poll, I would have gone into a pond and my vehicle would have been submerged and I could have possibly died. The response I got; 'it would have been better than hitting the pole and writing off your car and paying you out'... WHAT! SERIOUSLY! After I cussed the representative out for saying that for a good 15 minutes, it took 3 weeks for them to evaluate my vehicle's condition, only for them to tell me it was a write off (which I already knew because all the airbags deployed). Then another 4 weeks for me to receive my compensated cheque for the car. If I owed Intact money, they would have given me a date to pay it by and if not paid by the selected date, they no doubt would start charging me interest. Why couldn't I do that to them? Charge Intact interest for being unbelievably slow. And now, 5 months later I'm still waiting for my personal belongings from the trunk of my vehicle which Intact apparently mailed out to me in January. I know they never did and I WILL be asking for compensation for my belongings that I believe are long gone now. A while back too, I found out that an Intact rep was giving away my personal payment history to my father via email (which is NONE of his business), not knowing for sure that it's my dad on the other side emailing. There could have easily been someone holding a gun to his head telling him to email Intact about me. Thanks, Intact Insurance, I feel safe with you as a customer... *cough* TRUST ME; I will be leaving Intact Insurance the second that accident is off my record. I'm patient, I can wait 6 years. Let the countdown begin!!
They were easy to deal with until I had a claim. The start of my claim was easy, right up until it was deemed a total loss. Once that was decided customer service went way down hill. They gave me 3 days to return my rental (i was maybe at $250 of the $2500 i was covered for) My less then a year old truck was written off in a wind storm in mid may, after a month I finally was paid out the difference of my loan and what I had paid into it, via direct deposit into my account( this would have taken much longer if I did not fight for it, I had no transportation to work or daycare for my child). June 12 it was my understanding that everything was dealt with and done. I received a call today July 29th from TD where my loan (is still currently through) stating that my account is 50+ days past due because intact never paid them anything. When I called intact the proceeded to put the blame on me, they mailed out my $30,000+ payout cheque twice via snail mail, rather then courier with tracking, the first time it was lost and the second one (only sent out on July 25) they still have not received!! Needless to say I made the call to switch companies today.
I have comprehensive insurance for my car. After total loss they provided me rental car only for 3 days. I am renting a car on my own expense until buy other used car for myself. Nothing but bad experience
A friend recommended another company for basic liability insurance on an old pick-up truck & I saved over $100.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
When I first purchased the insurance, my experience was fine -no concerns, however after the policy ended, the price of my insurance increased a lot and I didn't make any claims.

They approved my windshield claim four months ago and all of a sudden called me up and left a message saying they decided they won't be paying for it. It turns out that the adjuster that approved the claim made a mistake and it shouldn't have been approved in the first place. That's not my problem, Intact. It's yours. Meanwhile, the company that completed the APPROVED claim has been out the almost $500 for four months. And now, conveniently, the request I made to speak to a supervisor never got passed on. So I call back 48-hours later and now they are all "in a meeting". Not enjoying getting the run-around. I want this resolved.
