Meloche Monnex (TD Insurance) Auto Insurance Reviews

I have been trying to contact TD insurance almost for a month, and no response at all. I don't know how many messages I need to left so they can call me back. My insurance policy is due in a few days, and they haven't sent me the details of the new policy, pink card and I have no idea if I am insured or not if they will charge me and how much. Such a bad experience.

I have been trying for days...on hold for a few hours each day just to try to insure an additional vehicle that I just purchased. We have multiple vehicles insured with them currently... but I think that if I am unable to get a hold of them soon, I am going to switch everything over to someone else as this is absolutely Ridiculous...no one has the time for this.

I have been trying for 2 days to get a car insured after my car was deemed a total write off by TD. Hours wait on the phone to be told that their system is down and they can’t access my files or do anything. My claim was passed around to several adjusters and someone in Toronto finally got in touch with me. The settlement was fair but I really just wanted my car fixed as can’t replace what I lost in the quality of the car. I dread the personal injury aspect now. Likely need to lawyer up. I’ve had insurance with them for houses and cars for 30 years. It’s a different company since TD took over. Need to look at other options as need insurance so I can drive my replacement vehicle. Unacceptable. COVID has zero to do with it!

I have both my house and auto insurance with Meloche Monnex, and I am trying to add another car into my current insurance but the waiting time for customer service is ridiculous. I called once and waited for an hour and end up hanging up, and I am trying again and I am afraid I will be waiting for over 1 hour again with no result.

Too bad they do not care for their customers; I am seriously considering moving all my insurance to a company that, at least, I can get in touch. Thinks twice and carefully before doing business with this company.

They called and left a message with zero details as to what it was regarding, and didn't leave a direct number to call them back at. Get to listen to the most annoying 4-second loop of music for another hour! I just signed up a few days ago and already regret it. So frustrating.

Seriously a fraud company! I changed my address recently and I am the same postal code and still raised up the policy from 415 to 690 ...no accident no claims history at all and still jacked up the premium. Customer service rating would literally be in negative. Kept hanging up, had to call numerous times to get hold of one person. The company is trying to make their money back due to COVID 19 situation by charging ridiculous hike up on their auto insurance premium!

Waited an hour on hold. Finally filled out for an auto quote online but there was a "glitch" when I submitted the form. I'm worried about what kind of service exists if I were to have a claim or a billing problem. I guess this isn't the insurance provider for me.

Their customer service is terrible, it's so hard to get anyone on the phone. Updating your insurance takes 30+ days on their app/website. They've multi-charged us a few times and the only way to fix it, IF you catch it, is they'll charge slightly less per month for the rest of the year to make up the difference. Horrible. The one claim I've had in 30 years, they dropped the ball massively, didn't pay the damages for like 6 months. It took forever and so many calls to finally resolve. The last straw for me was that they'd stopped mailing updated insurance papers every year, so I was walking around with a 3-year-old insurance paper in my wallet and no way to get updated ones (unless I want to sit on hold for hours). I couldn't rent a van because their app was also down and I had no proof of insurance. Thank god I wasn't pulled over by the cops. I struggle to imagine any way they could be more negligent.

I’ve been a Meloche Monex customer for many years now (10+ years). I have definitely seen the quality of their service drop over the past 3 years, whether it’s the wait time or the knowledge level of their representatives. I discourage others from using Meloche Monex as their insurer and I am not staying with them. I moved.

I have definitely seen the quality of their service drop over the past 3 years, whether it’s the wait time or the knowledge level of their representatives. My wife had her first accident last year in December, and I’ve had a difficult time getting a hold of our claims coordinator and no one else is willing to talk to me. The only response I get is via email, simply saying that the shop hasn’t been able to get parts and they’re sorry about the delays. I would discourage others from using Meloche Monex as their insurer and don’t think I will be staying with them after my claim is settled.
