Had an accident July 4th which was not my fault - another driver was charged with careless. So much for Aviva's new car guarantee... Beware, folks, that's lies! 7 weeks later still waiting for a car... My model is no longer available, and they are wanting to replace it with a lower model from another manufacturer... They have a fleet management service source out potential dealers interested in the sale ... Twice now called by Avivia to say have a car for me to look at ... then a few minutes later they call back ... sorry no car there? Now that they cannot easily find a replacement through their fleet management service, and re trying to brush me off with a payment, well below what it will cost me to replace the car? How shady ... and so sad, since they have held my home and auto policy now for 23+ years. Guess they sleep well though ... as they are part of RBC, their staff and management are well salaried and oh the bonuses - too bad the bonuses are on the backs on loyal dumb clients such as myself who loose out in the end. So past time to shop for a new carrier!
After calling aviva's customer service line today I'm sad to say the experience was terrible. My father is a senior and was spoken to rudely and made to feel like he couldn't get the help he needed. Nadir, the receptionist who took the call belittled him and basically told him she couldn't help him instead of directing him to the proper places to change his address and gain house insurance for his new home. I then spoke to her and she was just as rude to me. I'll be making sure my parents change their insurer as soon as possible.
The value of my car is high but they are offering me by far less. I am very disappointed.
Like most reviewers I have nothing good to say about having my auto insurance with Aviva. Like many insurance companies, they make lovely promises to "be there for you." HA! They're great at taking your money, and loathe to pay out. And should you cancel your insurance, out comes the fine print and a thousand ways to gouge you further. I dream of a world free of injustice, poverty, pollution, overpopulation, and insurance companies. The only decent experience I've had with auto insurance was with Family Insurance Solutions Inc out of British Columbia.
Horrible company to deal with. I didn't even sign up with them but a broker tried to put me through them even though I signed up with another company. (My current policy with the broker was cancelled and was no longer renewable through the company I had. Essentially, my current policy was no longer an option when the term ended, and I sought out another )
Long story short, they have harassed me for "unpaid time on risk" even though I showed proof of insurance. Threatened my record, claim to have submitted my name to a collections agency, and also claim to go after your "payment record" which means that they say you're someone who may not pay your rates and it could affect your rate with other companies.
I think a lot of it is scare tactics, but it goes to show what the company is like. Speaking nicely didn't help at all, and I've never been more frustrated with a company in my life. I'm a standard, average person who follows the rules and pays everything on time. This blew my mind! I hope others can avoid this experience by finding another company.
Has our atv stolen and when it was time to get our settlement the women in Toronto was rude and unhelpful and made my wife cry. They made it seem as if it was our fault. Once the cheque made it to Edmonton ( which was way below what the machine is worth) the women called me all the way downtown the. Wouldn't see me because she was in a meeting and wouldn't give me a time when it would be done. I warn you do not do any business with aviva or any of their brokers, they have a company culture of lies and bully like behaviour
Recently I had company property fall on my car, after I reported this to my insurance company, they farmed the claim out to an independent adjuster because they were too busy to handle my claim. Not upset about that, however it took over a month to get any communication from said adjuster about my claim. Even with pictures of what fell on my car the adjuster went forward with this claim as if a pole hit my car and I was told that I'm responsible for my deductible. Poor customer service poor handling of claim. Don't go with Aviva
I needed the right passenger window and called my insurance company, but they couldn't take my claim because their system was down. He even said if someone went through the windshield of their car they wouldn't be able to process their claim because they can't verify insurance eligibility. I was disgusted none the less. I spoke to six different people over the two days I was in contact with them. I am still shaking from my experience with Shannon, the last person I spoke with. After this claim, I am definitely switching. Worst insurance company ever, based on rates and customer service.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Not-at-fault claim. Car was totalled. I was under the impression that my Insurance company would fight and get me the best amount so I buy a replacement vehicle. Guess what, under the table, these insurance companies are working for each other. My Claim adjuster at Aviva tried so hard to give me as little money as possible. Her attitude during this negotiation was appalling and seems like she was getting her paycheck from the other party's insurance company. Folks, pay a little extra and stay away from these vultures. You pay these morons regularly all your life, but when the time comes to claim a portion of it back, all you get is grief. I am going TD, Statefarm, anything but.
Had a claim where the other driver crossed into my lane. Had dash cam footage; still had to take the day off work to go to court. Flash forward 7 months. I'm trying to cancel my policy. Their policy is they can only have transactions by phone. I've been on hold for over 3 hours in total. Worst customer service experience of my life.
