Call & Claim Experience

I tried to call them, the system put me on hold for 20 min and then dropped the line. It happened 2 times. I greatly regret that I brought my lightly damaged luxury car to TD Insurance claim centre. They said that they will assess the damage on-site, instead, they just confiscated my car! They sold my car to somebody shop in Burlington and offered compensation to me that was not matching the car value. The process was slow, took about 3 weeks to negotiate compensation with them and another couple of weeks to get the money.

Extremely long wait

Their customer service has gone from good to awe-full. Wait times are beyond acceptable just to finally get through to incompetence. They tell you to go online to manage your account. The online portal is useless and the online chat is not available. Talking with one of the representatives was poor.

Useless service

I've spent countless hours on the phone to get through to uninformed agents who have been able to answer my questions and keep passing me around and having me call other numbers. What is the point of having insurance and paying premiums if they become impossible to use! Seems like a scam - look elsewhere for your coverage, in my opinion!

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Worst service ever!

I have both home and auto. I have questions and have tried multiple times to reach them by phone (leave it on speaker so I can continue with activities) and eventually give up. They have sent me two identical invoices for my home and have raised my auto insurance. One is due tomorrow and another due next month. Do they have any employees at all? I would give them a zero!

Waiting on hold

Been with TD for a very long time - two cars, two homes. Rates are not bad but the service has really gone downhill. Waiting on a call for 2 hours - now how is this related to COVID. You do not have phone agents working from home? This is a way for the company to reduce staff costs and blame it on COVID - profit-driven. Terrible

Worst Customer Service

I have been using TD insurance for the car for many many years now. Recently, their Customer Service has become so awful that it is almost like a nightmare. The only reason I am not taking out the business to somewhere else is the fear of talking to the Customer Service for cancellation. I would get my courage and TIME (wait for an hour with few call drops) to cancel with them. This is so ridiculous and unacceptable...

Terrible customer service

I have spent over 5 hours on hold in the past three weeks trying to make a change to my policy and to enroll in the TD MyAdvantage program. It took three calls to get the activation code to enroll in the program. After the third call, the code did not work, so I am still not enrolled. Each time I am on hold for at least an hour, oftentimes I just get disconnected while waiting for the next person. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Poor service on all fronts

Horrible hold times for customer service, non-competitive rates, provide false information, so far have waited for 5 weeks for a refund on a cancelled policy. No call back from management on escalated calls. Offered no discount for reduced driving when no longer commuting to work due to COVID. Do yourself a huge favour and go elsewhere.

Can't get through

I've tried to call them 3 times now to add a car to the policy... All 3 times on hold over 40 minutes and have not been able to reach a single person. I don't know how they are in business... But their customer service is horrible. Can't wait to switch.

Horrible customer service

If I could give a lower rating I would... but I can't. Spent over an hour on hold to only be disconnected. Tried again the next day and the same thing happened. So I went a different route by sending a message on their website, after writing my long message it didn't let me send it as the "function was unavailable"... So I turned to Twitter to get information and get my question answered only to be told to try phoning them again. Absolutely useless!
