I was a customer of TD auto insurance in Kingston, Ontario, for one year with a new car. And most of this year is the pandemic year 2020, which means minimum driving. I just drove 3000km with no claims and no records of any kind. My reward for my good driving history is the increase of 20 dollars in my monthly payment during the renewal process. I asked them to rethink my rate, and they told me to cancel. And I did it immediately. It is frustrating that these companies rob us of high charges, and there is no one in Canada to protest it.
I’ve been on hold for 2.5 hours and counting. Bought a new car and need to switch over insurance. Hope I get through soon. There goes my Saturday...
I had TD Auto insurance for 3 years now. Each year my rates went down. Not by much but down. Completely clean record. My insurance just renewed and my premium went up to $900. That's right!!! I went from $176 monthly to $246 monthly when it should have gone down. Their explanation was due to COVID. How is that my problem? Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere!
I remember when TD Insurance took pride in their business. This is the worst company I have had to deal with in recent months. Auto email responses promise a response to queries within 2 business days (or after) but no response yet and it has been about a month. In addition, agents promise to call back and of course that does not happen. You have to wait for over 1 hour with fingers crossed that you do not get disconnected and if you decide to request a call back it never happens. I have been waiting for 2 days now. TD Insurance - you lack pride and common decency. So sad that you have lost your vision.
I had TD auto and home insurance for years. Never had a problem until recently. Tried to add a second car, it was too expensive so we cancelled and moved our insurance. I cancelled at the end of July. We are owed over $500 and we are still waiting on the repayment! I've called several times about it and was told it was scheduled for repayment Oct. 1. It still isn't in my account. Trying to get through to any customer service representative takes hours! I was literally on hold for over 2 hours before I got through to anyone and that was after multiple phone calls of being on hold for over half an hour, spending lunch breaks on hold etc. A total of 4hours on hold just to cancel and then more trying to find out where my repayment is. Don't go with TD insurance! I've banked with TD since I was 16 and I'm going to switch all my accounts out of TD. It is ridiculous.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
TD Insurance is the worst insurance in the world! I made a claim in May 2020 and didn’t get my claim dealt with till September 2020! Do Not Insure Your Car Or Anything With TD.
I have been trying to reach them from day ONE! I bought the insurance 2 months ago and wanted to create a login account to see my insurance details and now want to change the payment information (as I had used my US credit card to make the first payment and now I got my Canada credit card and wanted to put it on file) but not able to reach them through the phone. Everyday waited for around 1 to 2 hours on hold and was never able to connect to a single person. Escalated multiple times through the email ID they have provided, I think both are FAKE email IDs as all I ever get is system generated auto-replies. I MOVED FROM the US to CANADA and I can 100% state that this INSURANCE company is total FRAUD & SCAMMERS and it is nowhere near to an average US Auto Insurance company. An average US auto company provides 100 times better service than these SCAMMERS!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Now I am planning to discontinue their service but not sure how to do it as you cannot reach anyone on the call. FEELING HELPLESS.
I moved to Alberta from another province and despite my having proof of insurance previously they charged me almost 3x what I should have been paying because I didn't have an "insurance history" in Alberta. Every time I've tried to contact them it has had to be by phone (I went into an office and was told that they couldn't help and had to call) and each time I've been on hold for no less than an hour. This most recent time was an hour and forty-five minutes and when I finally got through the call taker almost immediately hung up on me. Save yourself the trouble and avoid TD all together
It seems like I have to take a day off to reach a service representative just to update my policy!!! Ridiculous waiting time. I have been trying for a week and still not successful.
I have been with them for 12 years and recently I have spent 5 days with 5 hours hold to make simple changes with them! I can’t wait till I cancel them... also their hold music is sooo annoying...
