Ridiculous wait times

I sat on hold for the ridiculous amount of time, two hours and 44 minutes only to be disconnected.
This is the second attempt at getting a simple thing done that for some reason won't allow me to do it online and I've been on hold for almost 4 hours total without talking to an agent.
I'll be taking my business elsewhere because there is no way anyone could think this is acceptable.
I am a TD client since 2013, recently my honda van got damaged in a recent hail in Calgary, Alberta. I filed the claim the next day, the advisor informed my car was a total loss, he was not too good with communication for a couple of weeks and then... he disappeared, for 2 months! I was calling their different numbers, sent hundreds of emails but got nothing for almost 60 days! I was only provided rental for only 1 week in this 2.5 months period of "no car". Eventually, someone got back to me to help and offered me $8500 for the van I bought in 2017 for $22,000! This vehicle was financed and I still have to pay $11,000 to the financial institution for this van. They aren't even giving any chance of negotiation. This is brutal and broke all my confidence in TD insurance... A big company with pathetic customer service.
08-21-20 I have had to call TD 4 times in the last month just to update and change my policy. I have had to wait on hold anywhere from 50 min to 90 min. This is unacceptable. Who has this time to sit and wait ? I have even called their claims division to try and circumvent the system, and it is the same.
In 2020, when a company doesn’t have a system that you can leave a phone number for them to call you back, instead of waiting for hours, it’s a company not worth my time and money. The shortest amount of time waiting: 1h10min, longest time waiting: 2h 47 min...AND STILL WAITING! Luckily, I got another phone so I called 2 brokers and got 2 quotes, which one of them is cheaper. So when they pick up, it will be: Thanks, cancel everything because you can’t answer your phone!
Car insurance premium rising every year. Yet unable to get through to an agent by phone or online. Unless you have enough time on your hands to wait for who knows how long? Hopefully, you don't get transferred that is another hold time. I couldn't even get access to the website for a few days with no reason for the problem? This is just so I could pay for my coverage? I've never had so much pain trying to give someone money. When I finally got through they decided to tack on a late penalty! That was it for me. Cancelled. They wouldn't rescind the penalty. So for $25 they lost over $1000. Never use TD for insurance. They do not have enough "service" people to handle what business they have. I'm just glad I didn't have to file a claim. That must be scary.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
My car got damaged in a hail Strom in June. Now August and I'm still driving a rental car. Three times they changed my adjuster and none of my adjusters called me. I was leaving voicemails all the time, none return calls back. I waiting to get my car money and will shop for another insurance company. Not recommending TD insurance.
Worst customer service EVER! I first called them to sign up for the insurance and everything went smoothly. They answered within minutes! But after that whenever I called to fix their MISTAKES (They didn't include my partner's name in the documents, our online account didn't work, we didn't receive our document on time!) I had to wait in line for 3 to 4 hours!
I have been trying to get hold of them and they put me in hold for hours. They increased my premium without providing any explanation. They are very expensive and should not be in business.
This is the worst auto insurance I have ever had anywhere in the world. I have lived in several countries and nowhere did I ever experience the level of incompetence and blatant disregard for people's time as I did with TD. I have been trying to reach them since the beginning of the month to renew my insurance. I spent close to 20 hours on the phone just waiting for them to pick up. The repetitive music that they play why you are on hold made me think of the movies I saw where music torture methods were portrayed. It also made me think that it was done deliberately, so people would not be able to stand the music and would just hang up. They did pick up eventually. My conversation with them lasted no more than 5 minutes and resulted in nothing. They told me that their computer system is updating and they are short-staffed because of COVID. No action to renew my insurance was taken. I moved to NS from another province and would have very much liked to keep my insurance from that other province. Unfortunately, my previous insurance does not work in NS, and TD seems to have a monopoly on auto insurance here. But, nevertheless, I do urge you to stay away from them! Maybe, eventually, the lack of customers will make them reconsider their approach.

Thankfully we haven't had to make any claims, god knows how long we'd have to wait for that!
Trying to cancel policy for one of our cars. I've been on the live chat queue for 35 minutes and moved 4 spaces. I've been on the phone for over an hour at this point and have yet to reach someone. It takes about 4 minutes just to get into a queue as the automated script won't shut up.
TD may be a bit cheaper than other insurers, but that's probably because you can never actually speak to anyone without going insane first.
