This is to let the world know that TD Insurance is a scam. I have been paying my premium regularly for many years and the very first time I have a claim due to a little damage to my car rear bumper has been a big issue in over two months now. Their approach is unprofessional and unbusiness like.
We had our car hit by another driver.
He provided us with his insurance with was also TD and his drivers license.
We had a collision report prepared by the police.
we contacted TD to have the car fixed.
It took them 3 days to contact us.
They said we need to wait another 10 business days till they contact the other insurance even though it is TD. We could not have any car rental and we have been without a car for three weeks now and there is still no date settled when we can have our car fixed.
Unbelievably slow and useless insurance.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Some of the associates I have spoken to over the phone were fantastic, treated with respect and reciprocate the same.
However, they reverse charges without notes or a reason, take payments on the wrong date, input accounts as the wrong account type, wait hours after speaking on the phone to take a payment from your account, and overdue balances cannot be viewed online due to locking out the user after 2 days.
This leaves you unable to view your information online, and forces you to call as it refuses to take a payment online. I bank with the same organization?! Every month it's another headache.
My car was stolen at the end of May, and it was reported immediately to insurance. The initial person who took the case ended up going on a 2-month vacation right after he got started on it and is a nonstop game of phone tag. The Out of office alert on the voicemail redirects to another person who is also out of office, who refers you to someone else. During business hours it is nearly impossible to get a hold of someone and not a voicemail and even when someone picks up it's difficult to understand what they are saying as they have thick accents. The investigator has trouble writing English. Here we are, almost at the end of July, and it is STILL sitting in an impound lot in another province collecting fees. The agents are also unable to follow instructions to contact me early in the AM as I work nights and am asleep when they call in the afternoon. Unbelievably bad service, would not recommend it.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I tried to make a claim and the TD senior insisted to have a forensic engineer check up on my car, which is fine. The engineer accidentally broke a part of the car during the inspection, and I demanded repair of that damage. The TD investigator is rude and tries everything to deny the claim and not respond to the damage her engineer did to my vehicle. I get it is her job to deny as many claims as possible but still. Try to avoid TD if you can.
They had me waiting for an hour after telling me I have only 10 minutes to wait. The poor guy on the phone couldn't answer my questions.
TD has been advertising one of the benefits of joining them is a lifetime warranty on any repair done due to an accident. This is not actually the reality. I have been trying to get a reimbursement since January (it is now July) and my lifetime warranty claim is still unresolved. The adjusters use stall tactics and drag it out. Then when you don’t give up and continue to follow up daily, they say the repair is not related to the initial accident even though it is the exact same repair. After receiving a disapproval for reimbursement I escalated the claim. Now I am starting all over with the escalation department getting absolutely no communication and no response to the follow-up calls I have been making since May. Every time I see their ads for the lifetime warranty benefit, I am reminded what a deceitful company this is and am in the process of looking for a new provider.
Terrible company renewed my policy when I told them not to do it. It took two weeks and five phone calls to get it cancelled.....they wanted to charge me a cancellation charge.
Normally I expect an insurance provider to be bad after signing up. They'll do anything for your service, and then turn a blind eye. This was a blind eye before they even had my service.
Their online system wasn't working. It kept saying they couldn't verify my identity after they were supposed to send my phone a code (which it didn't). So I talked to CS, and they confirmed there is no reason I shouldn't be able to buy online, and gave me instructions to clear my cache, restart my browser, and retrieve my quote.
Only their own instructions don't work. There is no button to retrieve quote.
So I rebuilt the entire quote from scratch, on a new browser with everything cleared and it still didn't work, and he confirmed that while he could help me, I would lose the 5% online discount (which would work out to be like ~$85)... So I have to pay an extra $85 because your system, and their own instructions don't work (tried on 3 different browsers, and mobile)???
And again, if this is how bad their system and customer service is before I've even paid them, I can't even begin to imagine how bad it is after they have my money...
