I appreciated the callback feature instead of staying on hold. I was called back within the hour and the very polite and efficient Tyler was able to take care of my two requests right away.
My family was caught with no insurance last year when the insurance company decided to review everyone's premiums and make it nearly impossible (completely impossible for us) to renew our insurance in time. TD Insurance literally SAVED THE DAY and quickly and easily got us affordable insurance for 3 vehicles within a matter of minutes. However, I did not receive renewed paperwork for the upcoming year and just realized my insurance expires in 2 days. With other insurance companies, the pink slips were automatically renewed and resent to me every year. No big deal, except I, have tried to contact TD insurance 3 separate times today, for a total of about 3 hours thus far. I'm actually not sure that anyone is there. Wish they would initiate the call-back feature. I guess I'm thankful I don't have a job right now because if I did, I would have to go with an insurance company that I could reach.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Had my Audi repaired by one of their preferred shops, not a great job to boot, had to go back a few times to correct paint match problems, gaps, panel alignments, etc. A few years later, I had a problem with corrosion on the Audi. Went to the Audi dealer to submit a claim, and was advised that my corrosion warranty was null and void, due to a 3rd party had repaired that panel on the vehicle. Be wary of any warranty you have on your car, especially corrosion warranties, if their so-called preferred shops touch your car, instead of the manufacturer approved body shop. The manufacture can, and will, void any applicable warranties on the vehicle. Therefore, the TD guarantee that they give you when going to their shop, is really a moot point. Just take it to the manufacturer's authorized shops, and don't listen to what anyone at TD tells you. After all, you are paying them for a service and paying dearly, so call the dealer/manufacturer, before you commit to just any body shop to repair your vehicle. It is your car at the end of the day. So take it to the right shop, educate yourself before making any decision, and get it fixed right the first time. Who knows your car better than the manufacturer anyways?
I've had great experience with their customer service. However, what I will say is that they continuously keep increasing my monthly payment.
First I was paying around $129/mo, then 135+, then 146. I called them to complain about the constant increase, but they would not budge and said it was because other drivers with my same vehicle are getting into a lot of accidents... I adjusted some of the insurance and got it lowered to 136. A few months later, it's back up to $145/mo. No accidents, no tickets, nothing. Just random price increases.
Getting pretty fed up with it, if I find another insurance company that will charge less, I'll probably be switching.
The insurance is well priced and the customer service is good however this company hit a nerve with me today. They have double billed me with 7 day refund times, sent my mail to the wrong house and messed up billing. After all this they denied me insurance today (after 3 years with TD) for a missed payment that happened 2 years ago, even though at the time (I was a student) I had called and explained I needed 48 hours more as I was delayed I'm getting my loan. Everything continued as normal and today, 2 years and 4 months after this missed payment they decide not sell me insurance as I don't fit their company criteria anymore..wow TD..
It's a good thing we don't hold you to the same standards you hold us. I should have switched providers the time you accidentally billed my visa $344 instead of saying 'hey mistakes happen'.
The rates are competitive and the claims process is easy. Insurance can be confusing but to the best of my knowledge I am getting the best rate and coverage for my money. I will need to get a competing quote soon to ensure this is the case.
Claims were processed quickly and efficiently. All questions were answered in a timely manner.
Pretty good for getting questions
Like other big corps, TD loves to play games with their customers. They increase the premium excessively every year, since not all customers call back to negotiate the rate, they make $ off those who don't call and negotiate. Hate that game. I hope the annual increase can be regulated by the provincial government.
