Very reliable company.

I was reared and it was obviously not my fault. They classified me a minor injury claim and I needed more treatment after my treatment plan expired. I was still in pain and they denied me claim. Instead they hired a private investigator follow me and watch my house. They intentionally prolonged my suffering!
Our vehicle was written off not at fault. Dejardin auto insurance advisors offered a settlement of $7500 dollars tax included. I asked them why so low. The multiple advisors said they can only find 2 to compare to our vehicle. They all clearly said "We payout based of off market value compared to what is available. I did a quick search online with the advisor over the phone and found the same model and make but the years were 1 year newer and 1 year older but the KM was 100k + more. The advisor said "You can't compare apples to oranges. You must compare apple to apple." Fair enough. I finally found 2 with 1) the same year 2) the same model 3) KM is a few thousand off. Priced at $12,500 + tax with $2900 under value. I reached out to Dejardin and guess what happens next? The advisor said "The appraiser compared our vehicle to a 2010 model and the max they can give us is $8000 + tax included" Does this sound like a fair settlement and paid based on market value? They are not fair and LIE to customers not at fault.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
They will look for any loophole to not fully cover the damage to your vehicle after an accident. Even if there is no proof backing their reasoning they will not pay and make you have no choice but to pay upfront, with the hopes you will just give up and not take them to court. My car has been sitting in a garage for 6 months because they refuse to take care of their responsibilities! Absolutely terrible, I have NEVER seen this from insurance before!
Be careful and if this ever happens to you, it can be very discouraging but don’t give up!
Horrible adjuster. I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere once my insurance lapses. Here totally screwed me on my massages. I had a massage therapist that was super unprofessional. I was approved for all my massages for 28 and I had to change massage therapist so it took me 2 months to find another one. My massage therapist was racist and now I'm told that I have to pay out of pocket for half of my massages and she's only covering $350 when they told me I was allowed to get 28 massages. Desjardins is a joke!
Told us we had to release the car so they can get it the next day. We did that.
Almost 2 weeks later we received an email that says we have to pay 360 for the towing and 60 a day impound.
The representative Jess said the car was going to be moved She listened to *a tape* will honour that... ok great.
Tells us nothing further can be done until the accident report was obtained.
She tried to tell us she can't access it.
We called the opp who informed us she can.
Then under an hour later, she manipulates my son with the brain injury into accepting a pay put that is not even half the replacement value of the car.
The guy on the phone Benjamin tells me the point in insurance is to give you money so you can add to it and buy a replacement vehicle. It'd not intended to pay what it cost to replace the car.
I have dealt with 6 people from claims. None know what they are doing and none care about customers. Not one is truthful either.
Do not go with this company
Hi, we have had a bad experience with Desjardins. My husband hit 12 point buck hit our car totalled our car lucky he was not hurt. Did they even ask we are still fighting to get our money? We have been there for over 20 years with many cars insured at this time... They still have not done anything except give my husband a headache. Husband went to the office and our agent was rude to us. We will be changing because this is so sad to pay the amount we do and no help from them! They offered us a sad amount but they took our money every month plus our houseboat and 4 wheeler are with them they might miss us but we will not miss them!
I've had 2 claims while insured with Desjardins' auto insurance and let me tell you, I have never in my entire life had to deal with a company that has given me this many headaches and caused this much stress in my life.
On my first claim, I was lied to by an agent and told that I was NOT at fault only to find out 2 years later that I was at fault and that's why my rates went up!
On my second claim, Desjardins tried to take advantage of me by only paying me $7000 for a write-off. I fought with Desjardins for 3 months and I won. We settled at $8800. Wow! They made an $1800 mistake and it only took 3 months for them to admit it.
I say this as a warning do not insure your possessions with Desjardin, I highly suggest you pay the few bucks per month extra for a different insurance company that will have your back in your time of vulnerability.
Well, this company is totally fraud . If anyone wants to waste time and money than you can choose this company because I had an accident on 6th of nov and my car goes under total loss settlement .They paid me less than my actual car value even after sending 10-15 ads from auto traders . I spent 3500$ on my car just 3 months before having accident and sent them invoices for claim but they gave me only 509$. Secondly, I had 2 different lien holders on my policy but they didn't paid me for one of them . They never told me before adding lien holder if anything happen to car then they are not paying for other company. They send me cheque and told me funds are already added for other company but when i claimed my gap then my gap insurance contact to sholaine pajor my adjuster and she told that they only paid for actual car value . is this kind a joke , now i have to pay 3700$ from my pocket to close my loan with td and i got my claim after 5-6 months of accident .
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I was a client of State Farm Insurance for 15 years, where the customer service was personal and excellent. Desjardins bought out State Farm, a very bad move for State Farm clients as I have discovered. On June 13, 2020 my vehicle was caught in a flash flood during a major hail and rain storm in Calgary. As a consequence, my vehicle's engine was flooded. Because there was no help to be had, I called AMA, who towed my vehicle in the middle of the night to my trusted auto repair shop. After calling for a week, I was finally able to reach Desjardins. The adjuster told me that my certified repair shop was not on the Desjardins list so the Adjuster insisted on towing the vehicle to a body shop even though there was no body damage. (Lie #1 - the customer can have the vehicle towed to any trusted garage). What I needed was a mechanic. I researched and learned that indeed my vehicle was repairable. After a month, a Desjardins inspector finally showed up, took two minutes to look at the vehicle and insisted it was not repairable so he had the vehicle towed to an auction company. Desjardins made me a ridiculously low offer, which I refused. Finally, they offered a bit more which I again refused. My research told me that the vehicle was worth much more than they were offering and it was repairable. I sent my research to the Adjuster who finally made a decent offer. I did not sign off immediately because I wanted to conduct more research regarding the potential of repairing the vehicle. Yes, it was repairable. The Adjuster lost patience with me stating that she needed to close the file immediately and if I didn't settle I would get nothing (Lie #2 - upon calling the Insurance Bureau of Canada I was informed that I had 2 years to settle the claim). Finally, after 4 months, I accepted Desjardins' offer because they refused to let me buy out the vehicle, forcing me to have to bid on it in an auction. In the meantime, without notifying me, Desjardins notified the Alberta government that the vehicle was deemed unrepairable and that it could never be considered drivable (Lie #3). There was no body damage so it could definitely be deemed as salvage which would have allowed me to repair it and drive it again. This seemed to be a spiteful move on the part of the Adjuster. During the 4 months of back and forth with Desjardins, I asked to speak to a supervisor but no one ever called me. My broker was unable to negotiate for me as, unlike State Farm, Desjardins does not allow brokers to speak on behalf of their clients. I have now lost my trusted vehicle and must buy another one even though my settlement would have been enough to repair the vehicle. Never, never trust Desjardins. I feel that Desjardins merely wanted to pay me out as cheaply as possible just to get rid of me. As a client, I had no value to them.

Very reliable car insurance, I recently had my car hit in a parking lot and the insurance was very attentive in processing the data and the whole process was favorable and efficient, they recommended an excellent shop and my car is like new. Very satisfied, and so I can recommend Desjardins as an excellent car insurance company.
