Terrible company

The TD insurance by Primmum insurance is terrible. They’re customer service is awful and fortunately I didn’t have any claims with them. They asked me for a one month’s premium after 2 years when I went to cancel the policy. Stay away.

Extensive processing delay

Disappointing to experience weeks of delay in processing my claim. Lack of communication and excuses from such a large organization is unacceptable.

Increases without any reasons

by AGuyWithBetterInsurance on Apr 22, 2021

I cannot believe those guys, they keep increasing my premium year over year by $200 with no reasons, I never claim anything, I just paid... On top of it they charge a fee just because I pay monthly...

Looked elsewhere, and save $700 a year :| with better coverage on top of it.

bye bye Primmum.

lack of Service

Their web page states renewals mailed 45 days in advance. Don't believe it! Try contacting them, even allowing for Covid their response is non-existent. I have wasted 10 hours trying between telephone and internet without any contact. Other service companies at least provide a call back service! Cannot sign up for my account as they have my landline telephone # on file but they require a cell #.

If you have to call them (which, you do since there's no online chat) prepare to throw away hours of your time. I'm currently holding because I had to contact them AGAIN about an error they made (again, same issue!), and it's been nearly 40 minutes with no answer! And that's just trying to get ahold of them. They screw up constantly and charge you 'arrears' for their own mistakes. DON'T GET PRIMMUM!

You got what you pay

They are cheap, but no customer service. Have you tried to call them? On hold for how long? Until you hung up. No renewal notice. They pretend they've sent me registered mail twice, called, sent emails, all no proof. Now I'm treated like a criminal with lapse insurance.

Customer service

Sat on hold for 45 min with no answer several times. I realize its COVID but there has been ample time to get phone resources in place for those working at home. Customer service is lacking you can't even leave your number for someone to call you back. I unfortunately work full time and don't have all day to wait on hold. Makes me want to shop elsewhere

Terrible

I would give 0 stars if I could. If you like being on the phone for 4 hours to resolve simple issues, this is the company for you. They did not respect my time or me as a valued customer. Save yourself the hassle and go with anyone else.

Like Banks, like Insurance

I did not know what I have been paying for more than 12 years, until I started to read the fine prints and compare the paperwork TD Primmum has sent me year over year. I had one claim, eight years ago, for burglary theft under $3,000 - no problems there, good experience overall. Forward to recent times, for the past three years, TD Primmum increased my premiums by approx. 10%, with no change in coverage, claims, etc. I did not even have Earthquake coverage. Even after discounts and mortgage being paid off, they wanted me to pay $1,400+/year for less coverage than other insurance companies, more honest and less greedy. RBC and BCAA are also very expensive. Finally, I cancelled my insurance renewal and was able to find much better coverage, for under $1,000/year. I am probably going with West Insurance. Insurance is another industry profiting from greed, deceit and confusion, all by design. I can't even begin imagining what old folks, the disabled, immigrants or those hard-working people that are busy to survive are going through, having to pay much more, for way less. The Government does not protect those who pay their salaries and fat pensions...

Are you a condo unit tenant? Remember that neither your condominium corporations' policy nor your landlord's insurance policy protects you as a tenant (3rd part liability, contents, etc.). If you do not have your own insurance policy, get your condominium insurance quote today.

Rude or Stupid ?

I phoned Primmum to ask why my home insurance policy was increasing at an alarming rate each year, even though I had never filed a claim. After a long string of garbage that made no sense, I was told to buy elsewhere if I didn't like the price. So I did. I had been claims-free for 11 years at the time … Primmum sucks the big one !!!
