Made a hail damage claim on roof shingles over 2 months ago, but have yet to hear back from them! Now have to make a water damage claim on the interior due to them not looking after shingle claim in a reasonable time! Total scam company!

Paying premiums for nothing

by Terrible insurance company ! on Aug 27, 2021

Put a claim on my leaking roof in my garage, no shingles missing and they tell me I’m not covered through insurance. They said it’s regular maintenance, how would I know there is a problem when there are no shingles missing! I’m switching insurance providers next year!!! Money for nothing, Red River Mutual takes your money and runs !!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Unfortunately, my husband and I had 3 claims (same problem) within 2 years as our sewage pipe burst under our mobile home due to problems with a City line. The problem was not even our fault but Red River Mutual advised our broker that they would not be renewing our policy as we had too many claims. They never even had the decency to inform us personally. We paid this company for years upon years claim free and now they are dropping us through no fault of our own? They just want your money but god forbid you actually have to put a claim in! Stay away from this money-hungry company!

Are you a condo unit tenant? Remember that neither your condominium corporations' policy nor your landlord's insurance policy protects you as a tenant (3rd part liability, contents, etc.). If you do not have your own insurance policy, get your condominium insurance quote today.

Terrible Company

Don't waste your money on this company. We agree with one of the other reviews that if you could give a zero rating, that's what we would've given this company. They are happy taking your money but don't refuse to pay out what damage you actually have. They don't honour anything contractors say whether it's people you get to do quotes or people they sent. Dealing with their representatives was a joke. Would never return calls, we had to keep calling them. Had estimates over $30,000 damage, their offer was $3000. Now they are at $9500, still unacceptable. This has been going on since June/18. Also, our broker didn't help at all either who recommends this company but I guess they must get a good kick back from them. Getting a lawyer involved to stop these crooks if we don't, who will?

Horrible

They are rude money-grabbers and liers. I do not recommend them. All they care about is money. They tell you one thing and then you get a letter stating the complete opposite. If they ever tell you you will get a check in the mail...and you ask if there will be any more fees... YOU WILL END UP OWING THEM MONEY.

Beware Before You Sign

Take a look at the ratings. They speak for themselves! I had insurance with this company and it was a nightmare. They treat people like garbage. I was claims-free for over 10 years and was still treated like garbage. You were warned.

Where is the zero category? This company has no integrity and does not have your best interest at the very time you need to make a claim. This year after a downpour, water came into the house from the second floor to the main floor. Damage is extensive and this company turns it back and doesn't want to help deal with it. You are on your own when you need them the most! Just get excuses and more excuses. Still waiting... while the insurance company very willing to collect your money but digs in heels when a claim is made and they are most needed to help in a time of crisis. So far only ignored and no action, just excuses. Be warned, it is heartbreaking. More rain is coming. No action from the insurance company. I will inform you if there is any change.

Unsatisfied

So in the fall of 2017, we had high winds that damaged our property i.e. shingles blown off roof, siding torn off house (2 sides north and east walls), our 33×16 above ground pool picked up, tossed away, damage to roof on garage as well as soffit and facia damage. Our adjuster, came out pretty quickly, I think within 2 or 3 days. Supervisor walked around the house, we all agreed new roofs were needed on both garage and house as well as siding and soffit and facia. Ok, great, so far pretty impressed. Our adjuster told us to get a couple quotes, so we did. We found 2 very reputable companies to come out, we got estimates, both were relatively close in price. Move forward to spring 2018. The adjuster sends a contractor out His estimates. Roughly 1/2 the price and this contractor says he can piece together the shingles, the siding ( which both companies I called said colour was discontinued). My property is very uniform on house garage and 2 outbuildings are shingle-sided very same. So now I'm saying I don't wanna use their small town hillbilly guy. I wanna use reputable company that I researched, read reviews and am comfortable with. The adjuster says "no, can't justify the extra costs", I told him I understood his job was to save his company money, he says no, his job is to settle claims, it has nothing to do with money. This company, in my opinion, is a joke. All I want is for my property to go back to the very beautiful uniform piece of heaven my wife and I had before this wind storm that is what insurance is for - peace of mind. P.S.: did I mention we went to the mfg of the siding and they confirmed they did discontinue the colour of our siding and informed us that even if they had the colour, it would take 4 or 5 yrs for the sun fade to match the rest of the siding. Will update as our claim is still open. Just have a bad experience with this company and if things don't get done to our satisfaction, we will go with another insurance provider

Been a long time customer and now when we needed help, it was a long drawn out process where we weren’t being looked after. The claim is still open so will update when we know how it ends. So far unimpressed

One person I talked to in this company is the rudest individual I have ever had to deal with. She passes everything along to her assistant, and never seems to return any phone calls. Do not recommend.
