Shocking incompetent and uncaring

by Enas Satir on Nov 28, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

I don’t know where to begin..
I pay $90 per month and I still pay all my medications out of pocket.. been reaching out to sunlife over and over to fix the issue and they keep referring me to ‘advisors’ who are disinterested.. keeping blaming each other for whatever is wrong..
very disappointing!
I’m shocked this is the best insurance service available in Canada!

Did you know that if you are a 30-year old male, a term life insurance policy for 20 years with coverage of $200,000 will cost you around $19/month? Getting your term life insurance quote today will allow you to benefit from a great rate.

Deceitful Corrupt manipulative company Sun Life

by Sun Life Deceitfulness on Nov 20, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

My wife’s parents started a life insurance policy in 1976 for her. In 2012 a Sun Life representative informed us that we could withdrawal mature dividends in the amount of 3200 and that it would not affect our policy in any way no documents were signed and we used the money to pay off a one year interest free furniture loan. To our disbelief we were informed years later that Sun Life classified it as a loan which had accumulated extensive interest and depleted our policy. We contacted many representatives from Sun Life who agreed we had been misled and lied to yet the company would not do anything other than force us to close the policy. My wife has Lupus stage 4 kidney disease and other health issues. Sun Life is absolutely despicable ruthless and if nothing else I hope this review will inform other honest people trying to help loved ones to never deal with Sun Life Respectfully Submitted David and Heather

Overpayment refund

by Disappointed costomer on Oct 12, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

It's very difficult to claim refund from overpayment even after complying all the pertinent docs they need the waiting period should only 10 working days of processing as they said but it takes days and even weeks and worse is months from them to give refunds....

If it were possible to give negative stars I'd do -10.

by Tony on Sep 29, 2023

Dropped calls, dropped chat, and costumer service reps that are completely useless.

Save yourself the time of calling / chatting with them and just punch yourself in the head. The result will be the same, you'll end up frustrated and with a headache, but with the punching option you'll have a couple extra hours to do something you enjoy.

Planning to get life insurance to protect your family, including children? Make sure that you get enough coverage. According to studies, it takes about $250,000 in total to raise a child to the age of 18 (and that doesn’t include any post-secondary education costs).

Run around on life insurance claim

by Jessy Halleran on Jun 28, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

The people who work here are completely incompetent! I've spent countless times on the phone trying to get my dad's life insurance. They always give me the run-around and then switch me to someone else. In what world would the dental department also look over life insurance claims? They don't! Didn't stop me from being transferred to them multiple times though.

Sun Life didn't send me an email with the required information so I can actually claim my dad's life insurance. Every time I call to try and get them to send the information they give me the run around through different departments and eventually, they settle on a callback, which just starts the whole thing over again. Losing my dad was awful enough, having to go through all these hoops to try and get the money he paid into for over 30 years is pathetic.

Sun Life Regina has rude staff and the worst customer service. They have a Financial Centre Administrator (FCA), who is not only a liar but is rude!

Thinking of getting a life insurance quote from an insurance agent? They work for one insurance company and can only sell the products of that company. That may not result in the best rate for you. Our insurance brokers compare life insurance quotes across 20+ Canadian insurers for you.

Ms. Jollymore & Mia

by Barbara Shore on Jul 8, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Sun Life appears to not believe severe depression is a disability. They need to update themselves and enter the 21st century. Initially approving, then denying a disability by Ms. Jollymore, mother of a severely disabled baby, receiving palliative care and they cut off her benefits.
Disgusting behaviour, but not *unexpected* from these rip-off insurance companies that get rich off our backs. Sun Life is one of the very worst.
