I have been with Allstate Insurance for almost 2 years. I moved addresses, with a difference of about 45 minutes. Allstate then informed me that my premium would be over $800 dollars over the next 2 months. It was previously $199 a month. I then advised them that I would be cancelling my insurance. They told me I would have to come into their office to terminate my insurance. Their business hours were the same hours that I worked. I then took time off of work and drove 30 minutes to the closest Allstate office. I got there and it was closed. I called the office and they informed me that they were by appointment only. The agent that I spoke to then told me that I could terminate my insurance simply by emailing them a termination letter with my signature. At this point, I had already spoken with half a dozen agents, none of which had told me I could terminate via email. I then asked if there would be a termination fee. The agent I spoke to informed me that I would actually be reimbursed $249. I terminated with Allstate and signed with another company. It had been about 6 weeks and I will have not received my reimbursement cheque. I had been corresponding with an agent via email about my reimbursement over these 6 weeks and she ensured me that it would arrive shortly. Finally, I had enough and I called Allstate. The next agent then told me I owed Allstate $173 and that I would not be receiving my reimbursement cheque. I have had nothing but problems with this company. The majority of the agents that I spoke to were rude and did not seem to want to help. I was offered little to no explanation as to why the refund was cancelled and that I now owed them money. Do not go with Allstate Insurance! They do not take care of their customers and personally, they left me much worse off than I would have been had I gone with another company.
Was t-boned on a rainy day by a nice enough lady, but the kicker is it was 7 weeks ago... yes 7 weeks. Oh and today is the first time I was called by the company claims advisor. I was waiting to hear from the adjuster but I guess this advisor will do. Damage to my car 3700 and change. They told me they will pay me 2500 cash settlement or we can go the insurance route to fix the car. Why did it take 7 weeks? Why then pay for half the labour on the car (well because you have the choice to fix it or not). I’m sorry did you cause 3700 in damage.... then pay the 3700 regardless if I choose to fix it or not. Don’t know if that’s an industry standard but I think it’s garbage. So I’m going to make them pay more now out of spite. And I hope I leave this review to hurt their business and to draw clients away. 7 weeks and you wanna pay me less, add insult to fiscal injury... umm NOPE
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
My mother, of whom I am the caregiver, was a passenger in a vehicle during a collision. The driver at fault has Allstate Insurance. Allstate refused to pay her medical bills or injuries due to the driver not having business insurance. What is my 72-year-old Mom supposed to do? The driver was transporting her to a center for the disabled when he collided with an 18 wheeler. The Adjuster for Allstate suggested that we use my insurance with Geico to pay the expenses. Really?? My mom is not on my policy, she can’t drive.
You are not in good hands with Allstate. I have had two experiences with them, one being a client and the other being hit by their client. In my opinion, they would rather pay lawyers than take care of their clients. First, when I was a client I had homeowners and full coverage on two vehicles. My wife was rear-ended and when I called, without even hearing the facts, first sentence was "we are not paying for that". After all the hassle, they finally agreed to pay. When going through the repairs, the car needed a new rear bumper. The difference between a new and refurbished bumper was 2 dollars and they would not pay for the new one. Luckily, I only had the car for 6 months and the dealer stepped up and paid the difference. Second time, my wife was t-boned and suffered injuries. They refused to pay anything, fortunately, I had Geico and they stepped in to pay her first 10,000 in medical. After 31/2 years of fighting with them, their lawyers which are top of the line made sure they had to pay nothing. 50,000 in medical, loss of vehicle, and lots of aggravation. Allstate is good at collecting premiums but will not pay claims.
I was an Allstate Hurontario, Mississauga customer for over 5 years. I had no tickets, no accidents and no claims. This year, they informed me my rates were going up 18 to 20%. Reasons for the increase included population increase, older vehicle, and driving at night. I have now renewed my insurance with another company and I am saving over $1000.00 per year.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I was in a car accident resulting in the other person at fault. The insurance they had was Allstate. What we thought to be an easy-going situation resulted in a terrible experience. The adjuster we were given was horrible. She had no clue what was going on, she never contacted us for days at a time, she was rude when we made conversation, and she told us personally that we were complaining. What kind of adjuster says this to a client? Aren't you supposed to be helping your client rather than hurting them? As a result of this, I have been left without a vehicle and was forced to be stuck with the damaged car for days after the incident. I hope everyone takes this as a wake up call. Allstate is not the insurance you'd want to back you up. You are not in good hands.
I was rear-ended by an Allstate customer who tore the bumper off my car. The police came to the scene. It took over 2 weeks for them to accept liability for the damages and I had to go to get the police report in order to get them to act at all. The agent was evasive and rude. I was driving a car that should not have been on the street. They would not give me a rental car until day 15 after the accident. Then the car went into the shop and they gave me a rental for 3 days before taking it away. I had to fight to get them to continue the rental. They had not even been to the shop to see my car and approve the estimate...which was $5000 more than what they wrote out!!! (used second-hand parts and only the bumper - nothing like the lights that were gone, the wheel that was damaged, the rear side panel where the gas cap would no longer close) So now the parts are ordered and again they stop the rental. They did not tell me about this. I find out when I get my credit card bill. I called argued...they resist and are still resisting as I picked up my car and left the rental at the shop for the shop to return. ALLSTATE is a horrible company to deal with. They lie and cheat. This might come to a legal battle that I turn over to an attorney for the rental. No way to do business.
My car went through a puddle and my engine got hydro locked, passenger side inner fender got damaged, 2 lights got damaged and stopped working completely, horn got waterlogged and now tone is really low and both fog light lenses got water in them. They sent the appraiser in and he basically said they'd only cover the engine and nothing else all because my trunk had primer on it (as I had literally just fixed a dent in trunk) and my front bumper wasn't painted (old one had a really bad crack in it so I replaced it with a new unpainted one so my car could pass mvi). They basically said in so many words that my car was a piece of junk so I was lucky to get that out of them. Wouldn't recommend Allstate to anyone as they were very unprofessional about the whole thing.
We had a very disappointing experience with Allstate. It is the first time that an insurance company asked us for a 1-month premium upfront (deposit) only to allow pre-authorized monthly payments. Monthly payments are common practice and should not be perceived as a "privilege". In addition, Allstate should be very clear and transparent that the amount is not refundable if the policy is cancelled in the first few months. Given the termination on short basis, the premium also goes up significantly. The collection of money upfront, it is not only unjustified but also unethical, given that the money is very likely invested by Allstate and earning interest that the customers will never see. I would call that a predatory practice.
I have been battling a claim settlement for an accident that occurred months ago. Multiple representatives were working on my case and it was clear that there was a lack of communication between one another. After taking my car to an auto shop for a quote, I continued driving my car as I was rear-ended. After weeks of driving my vehicle without knowing if the vehicle was safe to drive we had to personally ask for our structural safety report. Ridiculous! After receiving this, we were told that the value of the car was less than the settlement amount we began to dispute this process. We were contacted by a representative who asked if we had returned our rental vehicle which we NEVER rented. This was followed by two other representatives who called to ask if our vehicle was still insured. Looking more into who we should directly contact to get this settled, we realized that they have a claim satisfaction guarantee policy which has NO clear requirements about eligibility for requirements, but directs your call yet again, ANOTHER insurance representative. We called to learn more and the representative had no idea what we were talking about and to check the website that has no information. Once we were told about next steps to process this, they would not accept our email and would only accept a mailed letter. After sending in our letter outlining the lack of professionalism, communications, and responsibility to keep their clients in "good hands" driving a potentially unsafe with multiple representatives calling asking if our vehicle was still insured, if we purchased a rental, etc. DO NOT choose Allstate.
