Horrible customer service

Service has gone down over the years. Nobody wants to work there, had like 4 different adjusters none of them are responsive, voicemail full for weeks on, can’t even leave a message for multiple individuals some even months on. Completely absurd. Keep telling me they will get someone to contact me, yea months on... Completely unbelievable for accidents that were not even my fault gave me such a hard time! I can’t get a hold of anyone. Switching companies for sure!
The claim process is super slow. Follow-up does not exist. There was uncertainty and contradicting information among staff. They changed the decision back and forth multiple times. The amount of time spending on administration for a small claim is stunning. I am not an at-fault driver with this kind of service. Greatly disappointed!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
TD Insurance 10+ years no claims. Rear-ended in a leased car. Towed TD Shop 100CressLane. Adjuster emails authorization to sign from 'FIX Automotive' giving them sole authority to repair the car how they want. Can't sign without knowing what will be done. If the frame bent, I don't want a cheap fix. She says “no it's just your authorization to quote the repair”. Didn't I give authorization 2 days ago when you towed my car? The car gets appraised by independent, not FIX - not repairable! Glad I didn't sign away the repair. Loss Department contacts and tells me to call my car company for a buy-out. 'Isn’t that your job?’ I google the number + the professional answering the phone says – why are you calling, its usually the insurance company? I say TD, she laughs. TD Adjuster replies "yes I was going to call them too, just wanted you to be involved in the process". Really? I have a job and I’m busy. And extra stress from the accident
After paying for rental these scammers won’t give you a rental and when getting insurance they will ask if you want rental. I don’t care if I’m at fault and you refuse my claim. I am entitled to a rental because I’m paying my money. When it’s time to withdraw my money every month I don’t call and ask you’ll to loan me the money I pay my hard earn money... it’s high time something be done about those scammers. Only insurance who will have a claim in for months. And only calls at night and always in a hurry you can tell a lot by these scammers
I have been trying for 2 days to get a car insured after my car was deemed a total write off by TD. Hours wait on the phone to be told that their system is down and they can’t access my files or do anything. My claim was passed around to several adjusters and someone in Toronto finally got in touch with me. The settlement was fair but I really just wanted my car fixed as can’t replace what I lost in the quality of the car. I dread the personal injury aspect now. Likely need to lawyer up. I’ve had insurance with them for houses and cars for 30 years. It’s a different company since TD took over. Need to look at other options as need insurance so I can drive my replacement vehicle. Unacceptable. COVID has zero to do with it!
I waited a month to have someone come and pick up my car. 2 weeks later I got my estimate. The people that are supposed to be signed to the case I never heard from them. I had a lady who took my report originally. I tried to contact her and she never got back to me after. When I called TD claims department, they explained she’s no longer taking care of my care. The least she could have done is tell me. I have been emailing and calling her she didn’t bother with me.
My car got damaged due to the recent hail storm in Calgary, I was visiting Calgary but due to the amount of delays for damage assessment, I decided to come back to Montreal hoping that someone from TD insurance will assist me. No one did anything, after a month of waiting for a call for an assessment appointment I decided to go to the nearest TD auto damage center and force for a walk-in assessment. After the assessment, I was told my car is a total loss and I got a call from an adjuster saying he will call me within 2 days to close my file and make an offer. Its been 2 weeks I didn't hear anything. I repeatedly contacted their customer service to have someone contact me, NOTHING. They changed 5 different adjusters on me without even notifying that I have a new contact. This is the most stupid insurance company and I am for sure not going back with them ever and I will make sure everyone I know never signs up with them!
Their customer service is terrible, it's so hard to get anyone on the phone. Updating your insurance takes 30+ days on their app/website. They've multi-charged us a few times and the only way to fix it, IF you catch it, is they'll charge slightly less per month for the rest of the year to make up the difference. Horrible. The one claim I've had in 30 years, they dropped the ball massively, didn't pay the damages for like 6 months. It took forever and so many calls to finally resolve. The last straw for me was that they'd stopped mailing updated insurance papers every year, so I was walking around with a 3-year-old insurance paper in my wallet and no way to get updated ones (unless I want to sit on hold for hours). I couldn't rent a van because their app was also down and I had no proof of insurance. Thank god I wasn't pulled over by the cops. I struggle to imagine any way they could be more negligent.

I’ve been a Meloche Monex customer for many years now (10+ years). I have definitely seen the quality of their service drop over the past 3 years, whether it’s the wait time or the knowledge level of their representatives. My wife had her first accident last year in December, and I’ve had a difficult time getting a hold of our claims coordinator and no one else is willing to talk to me. The only response I get is via email, simply saying that the shop hasn’t been able to get parts and they’re sorry about the delays. I would discourage others from using Meloche Monex as their insurer and don’t think I will be staying with them after my claim is settled.
