I filled out a form which I called to have them give me all the information for this form they where requesting. Sent the form in. Never heard anything. I got a registered letter that they are cancelling my insurance in my car. They stated I missed one checkbox and they sent a letter to have fixed. They didn't send me another letter but instead a registered letter to cancel. I figured I could call to fix this issue. Nope, nothing they can do. I must reapply as a new customer. Someone how the new quote is higher than my renewal. Worst customer service. So they want to cancel one car. So now I am going to cancel all three cars, the primary home and my three revenue properties. They don’t care what so ever. Ask for supervisor sorry no is there. Ask for escalation. Two to Three weeks for a callback?! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
I had been insured with this company for 3+ years with no issues, and good rates. I recently received a letter in the mail stating that my policy would not be renewed because I had missed a deadline to submit an application for insurance. I was not told about this form at all. I had renewed several times in the past without needing to submit any forms. I called and they said the only way to renew was to apply as a new customer, even though my insurance did not expire for over a month. She kept saying that the process might take longer than I had and encouraged me to get quotes from other companies. What kind of business is run that way? I had a claim earlier this year but had accident forgiveness, I believe this was a scam to make me give up my accident forgiveness and start a new policy at a higher rate. Absolutely do not recommend this company.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
My vehicle was in an accident which was not my fault, I have all perils and total loss, so I can receive total cost of my vehicle's value in case it is a write-off. That was not the case with Aviva, they are criminals, who enjoy taking your money, but won't help you. I have a 1,000 liability, so they have to give me a rental until my claim has been settled. They gave me the rental for one week only, then cancelled it. My claim had not been resolved yet. The claim adjuster stated that I would have to pay for the rental until we could settle the claim. I explained I had to have a vehicle for work (which she ignored). I sent them pictures of what my vehicle looked like before the accident as well as receipts of various costly repairs I had performed to keep my vehicle in top condition mechanically as well as a rust-free exterior with yearly Krown coats. This all did not matter to the claims adjuster, she basically told me I had to accept the offer as they would not give me anything more. My vehicle was going for between 8,000 to 11,000 at the dealer, they wanted me to accept 6,000 and no more. They made my experience very upsetting, I would never recommended Aviva. They do NOT back you up in any claims no matter what you're paying them. My broker was trying to back me up.
We bought a new car and just wanted to change the insurance over. Three hours later being grilled with questions and being put on hold 8 times, then being told I would have to go into an RBC bank to give them even more money because this is a new policy. The gauging, the frustrating experience, I do not recommend this insurance company
I very highly discourage anyone from going with Aviva for insurance. They will give you the run around if you ever have a claim regardless if you're at fault or not. I'm 2 weeks into my not-at-fault accident and they won't even start the claim until I speak to an adjuster, yet he won't respond to my 3 voicemails and email and when I talk to another adjuster after being on hold for 52 minutes every time I call, they change their story. I have 2 house policies and a vehicle with them and they are zero help. As soon as this is taken care of, I'm cancelling all policies with them and will never use them again. Be very aware and do your research on companies before jumping into any agreements with any company. All they want is a paycheck with no service.
I really do miss RBC, Aviva is a horrible replacement. I wait on hold for over 1.5 hrs and still don't get the help I'm calling for. I have never waited on hold for so long. When I call anywhere else and there is no actual reason why I'm on hold for so long, it's ridiculous and maddening. Definitely need some better customer service reps
We called Aviva right away after doing our police report. We were frightened and expected Aviva to be there in our time of need. Our vehicle was hit from our rear by a big steel dump truck. We explained we were not at fault since the dump truck hit us but they refuse to believe us and delayed our process for almost 3 weeks. The adjuster was very rude and was the part of the main reason for the delay. They're very unprofessional, rude, unjust, slow, oppressive and most of all, they don't have any customer service skills. This was the most unpleasant experience and when you think things can't get any worse, it does with this company! They are unreliable.
I recently had my auto insurance claim settled in my favour and was quite satisfied with that. However, I contacted one of the customer service agents to change the auto claim insurance, I was taken aback by his weird way of replying. I was told by the customer agent 'Madame, you have asked the same questions 3-4 times. I have 12 years of experience and have never been asked so many times." Firstly, clearly I did not know, I am not supposed to ask a question more than one time. Secondly, he might have 12 years of experience (by the way why I need to know anyway) but this was my first time making changes to my auto claim. In order to be 100% right in making my change request, I was a little restrained. In so doing I might have asked a question couple of times. I would expect from a customer service agent to explain clearly the changes and how this affects the rate to remove my doubts rather explaining his own professional profile. In the end, if one is not comfortable with explaining to the customer, 1st do not take such job and 2nd rather than reacting to the gently asked questions by the customer and making the latter feel silly, please transfer the call to another agent who might be more competent in his job.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Had to take them to court to get them to honour their all perils policy. Took 3 years but judgement went against them. They just didn't want to pay the claim, which was under $ 10,000. Employed a lawyer to find every technicality that he could. Must have cost them huge. Their ombudsmen told me that, "...he had been overruled by Corporate." More than 20 years a customer with no claims. The part that bothers me is that they face no consequences for their actions. FSCO is toothless and completely ineffective; a paper tiger without any power.
My son and I have been with RBC / Aviva for several years and we have 3 cars and home insured with them. Our policies are due for renewal, and Aviva sent my son a lengthy insurance application for his auto policy, whereby he has to re-apply to continue to be insured with them. He has a clean record. The other policies have been automatically renewed with no questions asked. We received this application via regular snail mail days before the expiry date, and we had to respond the same way; hardcopy. It was a scam. I called RBC Auto Insurance Customer Services, to ask if we can send a PDF copy via email. I was on hold for an hour. Someone finally answered the phone and provided me with an email address. I contacted them on the due date to inquire about the status of our insurance renewal, only to learn they had rejected the application and cancelled our insurance policy because they did not receive the application on time. RBC Auto Insurance Customer Services advised me that there is nothing that they can do for us. The decision had been made. This is how they take care of their good reliable customers. I am an older man with investments and insurance with RBC. My family and I will be closing all accounts and policies from RBC. Avoid at all costs!
