Horrible hold times for customer service, non-competitive rates, provide false information, so far have waited for 5 weeks for a refund on a cancelled policy. No call back from management on escalated calls. Offered no discount for reduced driving when no longer commuting to work due to COVID. Do yourself a huge favour and go elsewhere.
The worst customer service I’ve ever received. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. They can’t even provide you with basic documents. I've been calling for a tax letter of premiums paid for 6 months. Still have yet to receive it. I’ve made so many complaints and phone calls I’ve lost track. I’ve had managers call me only to say they will call me right back and then they don’t.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I have been with TD for many years. I have multiple cars and motorcycle insurance with them. Up till last year, I had my house insurance with them. They have decent rates and the best rates for my motorcycle that I have ever been able to find. The biggest reason I have given them only two stars is their customer service. It is absolutely unacceptable. I have spent multiple hours on hold with this company. Everyone has things to do in their life. We have careers, families, and all kinds of other things in life to take care of. Waiting on hold for hours at a time is completely unacceptable. Adopt a callback feature so people can go about their daily lives. We get it... you're busy. So are we. Get your act together soon or I am out. Too much time wasted listening to the same song playing over and over again.
Our auto claim adjuster was so rude to us even though the accident we have is not our fault! She keeps on repeating: you don't have collision coverage! Yes, we know that but the thing is I know the policy procedure the one who hit us our car is the one to be liable for our damage. She is degrading us imagine. We are paying our premium and we are not-at-fault of the accident we had! We are being hit by a trailer truck last Aug 13 and since it is the fault of that other driver and seen also in the police report the insurance of that third party will be the one liable for our damage. Seriously this adjuster doesn't know how to handle things and even her client. I was trying to call her manager for so many times but she is not returning my call.
I am a TD client since 2013, recently my honda van got damaged in a recent hail in Calgary, Alberta. I filed the claim the next day, the advisor informed my car was a total loss, he was not too good with communication for a couple of weeks and then... he disappeared, for 2 months! I was calling their different numbers, sent hundreds of emails but got nothing for almost 60 days! I was only provided rental for only 1 week in this 2.5 months period of "no car". Eventually, someone got back to me to help and offered me $8500 for the van I bought in 2017 for $22,000! This vehicle was financed and I still have to pay $11,000 to the financial institution for this van. They aren't even giving any chance of negotiation. This is brutal and broke all my confidence in TD insurance... A big company with pathetic customer service.
In 2020, when a company doesn’t have a system that you can leave a phone number for them to call you back, instead of waiting for hours, it’s a company not worth my time and money. The shortest amount of time waiting: 1h10min, longest time waiting: 2h 47 min...AND STILL WAITING! Luckily, I got another phone so I called 2 brokers and got 2 quotes, which one of them is cheaper. So when they pick up, it will be: Thanks, cancel everything because you can’t answer your phone!
My car got damaged in a hail Strom in June. Now August and I'm still driving a rental car. Three times they changed my adjuster and none of my adjusters called me. I was leaving voicemails all the time, none return calls back. I waiting to get my car money and will shop for another insurance company. Not recommending TD insurance.
I have wasted over three days with this company. The last two days the entire server has been down and today when its up I have waited for half a day up to, 6 hours trying to reach this terrible company. When it finally reached it hung up on me right away. It is 2020, first of all, how is there not a call-back number and I have to sit and wait for someone to pick up all day without even giving me an anticipated time. This is insane to think a company like TD can have such inconsiderate and incompetent customer service. Complete waste of my time.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Requested callback function but when the phone rang, TD automated message said technical difficulties. Then tried waiting on hold instead, had to wait 95+ minutes. Terrible service. Also took a long time to get a quote on the claim amount.
I recently bought home insurance and wanted to add car insurance. I could not get anyone on phone - tried for a week - endless wait-times, no way to ask for call-back. There is no way that they would ever treat an actual claim in a timely manner. WORST CUSTOMER CALL EXPERIENCE EVER.
