I phoned because I received a letter stating my payment came back NSF. I knew that did not happen, and I told the guy that. He insisted that it did. I was staring at my bank transactions for the date he claimed the payment was attempted to be made, and there was nothing. He laughed at me, insulted me ("You don't even know how much money you have!" "Do you even know what NSF means?"), spoke to me like I was a child, in a sing-song voice. He interrupted me constantly, spoke over me, implied I was lying. He was ignorant, condescending, unprofessional and totally wrong about the date. He had the month wrong! 20 minutes of arguing with this guy, only to find out I was right and he was wrong! I found out that he had the date wrong when I phoned back and asked someone else! (He was referring to my payment a month before, which had already been resolved.)
It is shocking to know that someone like this has a job speaking to potential/existing customers. The ignorance is appalling. I am thoroughly disgusted!!! His name is Mohamed! (I know his last name but I'll have some mercy on his reputation and not post it.)
I recently completed an online quote with Belair. The original quote was a bit lower than the other insurers, however, after 2 weeks of calls and request for more information, the rate doubled. I am a senior who drives a modest amount in a year and have a clean driving record. At this point, I contacted an All State agent. Within 45 minutes I had a lower quote and new insurance certificate emailed to me.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Have no idea how to properly support their customers. I had been a Belair client for close to 10 years and every time I had to interact with them it was horrific. If changing insurance wasn't such a headache they would definitely go out of business. Do your best and find another company - and if they are the cheapest rate at the time, make sure you compare when it comes to your renewal as I guarantee they will hike it up if possible.
Claim disaster; my car was hit by a city snowplow while my car was legally parked, the city employee left a note with his name EE# license etc., Insurance dragged their feet claiming that the city was uncooperative, the city employees were very cooperative, understanding with me. The provincial policy is clear: claimant's insurance pays. I made a formal complaint against my insurance company's tactics but since Belair complaint procedures are nonexistent - they sent the complaint to be resolved by the advisor who was dragging it out initially, I had to re-complain to speak with a supervisor. Daily calls and 50 days to determine liability (did I mention my car was parked). Then they low-balled the estimate, insulted my chosen mechanic and told me that because he does not have a fax they won't deal with him, recommend that I don't do any business with my trusted mechanic. They finally twisted my arm to send my car to their insurance approved garage. Who then wanted to charge me directly because the estimate was so poorly done. Stay away from this company.
Belairdirect promised me a 11% discount but they raised it 135.00 I think they are a crooked company
I am a loyalty customer, they raised my insurance $186.00 this year what a ripoff
Last month, I inquired about changing insurance companies to Belair and I have had nothing but terrible service. Originally I was told that I was being held “at fault” for an accident 3 years ago. When I contacted my other insurance company AS PER Belair request, they told me I was not at fault which I already knew. When I sent Belair proof, they then found another reason to decline me of their service and told me that my “permanent address” on my driver license was invalid because I was temporarily living in North Bay. The person I spoke to on the phone told me, they have no reason to believe that I am living where I currently am because they have no proof. Yet, when I provided proof, they continued to tell me that, it wasn’t proof enough. So I told them to delete all my info as I will not be switching as they are making this way too much of a process. I don't care to put more effort into this to save less than 50$ a month. I'm not happy at all. As well the person who I was speaking to on the phone was extremely rude to me. His tone and his "you are incorrect, I was very clear about what I needed from you, and you fail to provide" attitude, completely turned me off of their business. I will never deal with Belair again as their customer service did not make my experience easy or pleasant to deal with. I have friends who have had nothing but issues with this service as well. I was willing to give them a chance as originally I was quoted $97 a month, which by the time I was done, I was sitting at $180. Terrible service. Extremely disappointed. Don’t quote so low, if it’s not the truth.
This claim adjuster has made my whole experience with Belair direct the worst that could ever be possible. From the day my claim was opened, he has never contacted me responded to my emails until I followed up threw a fit and spoke to several other agents who felt terrible for me and had to stop him to speak with me. All things I had claimed he never took seriously and never followed up with them until constant prodding. Overall Belair is decent until you need it to matter then they're not there for you.
I was a car owner 4 years ago. I chose Belair because I knew their rates were supposed to be reasonable. I spoke to the sales staff at that time and they explained I could save money on my policy if I didn't take collision. The way they explained that to me was done so in such a way that I wouldn't have thought to take the collision option. I told them this was the first time I was getting insurance and that I needed help understanding. They just kept telling me it was cheaper and better to go without it. So fast forward to the present. Yesterday I got into an accident due to weather. My car hit ice and spun out of control. I rolled my car and landed upside down. I then find out I am not covered for ANYTHING by my insurance except for injury. I walked away totally fine physically, but my car was totalled. So after paying these people thousands for 4 years, and thinking I was covered for something like that, and then to find out that you aren't? It's deplorable. Help new car owners understand what these terms mean!
I looked to adding a second ATV to my policy which they already insured one. They said the value was too high and the engine size too large and they refused to help. I have had a claim with them before and it was easy and pleasant. No complaints there.
