Treat loyal customers terrible

1 out of 5 stars
First time to get additional coverage.
They ask how many tickets did i get within the last 5 years.
If it is more than 6 points, forget it!
Not 6 points per year, it is 6 points in 5 years!
So yeah, basically they just want a grandpa and grandma driver.
Dont even bother calling them.
Wasting time!
I recently became insured with belairdirect. This company is an absolute scam. They guaranteed me one price (which was significantly lower than my previous insurance company) so obviously I made the switch. Now in order for me to keep the original price they offered, I had to sign up to an "Automerit" app. However, upon looking into this app, it had horrible reviews and not one person had anything good to say. It was rated with only 1.4 stars out of 5. I decided not to download this app since the reviews and ratings were subpar. This month I received my new payment plan and my insurance is actually going up an extra $15.00 a month. How can a company penalize you because you don't want to download an app that is complete garbage and lacks quality, This is completely unfair and an absolute scam. I suggest belairdirect fixes their app and explains this merit point system a little bit more in detail.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I've been with them for years and they were great until this recent company owner change. I was going to school away and they told me they would still cover me and it was fine for the past year and now I called to update my VIN number (as it had a mistake) and they just gave me two weeks to find a new company while I'm in the middle of exams. Lousy customer service, shitty new company owners.
So, to my surprise, for being a good driver, no tickets, no accidents, ZERO CLAIMS, MY insurance jumped from $1427.00 a year to $1800.00 and this is supposedly with my combined savings for also having content ins. And because I pay it all upfront. They proceeded to tell me it's because of my vehicle rating. I'm a single mom on disability. Going through cancer. I was shocked, upset and disappointed. Especially after having 4 of my family members change their Insurance companies to them. After calling around. I found rates at $1369.00 this is without bundled savings. So obviously I wasn't that much of a respected customer! And if it where nothing to do with my vehicle rating how can another company be 400$+ a year. The broker I spoke with said I'm the other client from Belair direct. Making the change
Claim opened July 2016. They still have not fixed my car and its June 2017. I was rear-ended at a stop light causing my head rest air bags to deploy.
They have treated me as if it's my fault someone rear ended me when I was stopped. I've been patiently and calmly waiting for them to resolve this but a year is too long to wait!!!
I pay my policy on time and my policy covers this type of claim.
This is so stressful.
Worst company I've ever dealt with.
They take my money monthly, are keeping my claim open but won't fix my car.
I was rear-ended at a light, air bags deployed , impact caused damage to the back of my car and the person admitted hitting me. Case closed! Not sure why it takes a year to figure that out!! Especially with police reports.
I can't switch insurance companies while a claim is open either!
Please stay away from this company. They have no human compassion. My father passed away - and they were directed from the government to put the pink slips into my Mothers name so we can re-register his vehicle - but NO......they won't, like my family hasn't been through enough....I was going to just keep using them for my mother's car, but as soon as my lawyer get this straigtened out....they can kiss my money GOODBYE....heartless creeps.
So, this is the first time I had insurance on my own. They offered a great rate on my first car, but after it was written off, things went sour very quickly. First of all, it took them a month to sort out my accident claim, which I was not at fault. They only reason the claim was resolved was because I had to do all of the leg work personally. I did 100% of their job just to get my claim taken care of.
Now that I'm up for renewal, I decided to look into other companies, since belairdirect wasn't giving a good rate on my newer, safer vehicle. I was offered a way better rate with way more coverage somewhere else. When I asked Belairdirect if they could lower my rate for loyalty, they told me no. So, long story short, they have very bad customer service, they don't do their jobs, and they're really not there for you. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.
I am going to make this short and to the point - 30% increase in my auto premium since Belairdirect took over CDI. I can't get competent people to answer my questions. They either fired or packaged out the CDI employees. My favourite advisor quit as I was told by one person on the phone because he was too smart and they didn't know how to handle his personality and he was a big part of the sales department. I have to call 3 times to get an answer. No call backs when promised. I pulled my wife's car, her motorcycle along with my truck and motorcycle and my home. I guess this wasn't short and to the point. I was a customer since HSBC owned CDI.
My son has been trying to get insurance for months now. Bellairdirect provided a great quote. So we decided to try and go with them. We sent in an application by mail because they dont offer over the phone service or anyway online. We waited and waited n heard nothing back so we called n spoke with a lady who told us theres parts on the application that were left blank n it was mailed back to us. Hes never had insurance before because this was his first car so yes parts were left blank because it asks for previous insurance company. She said fill it out and send it back and she will activate it right away. So another month goes by and still no word. I call give the reference number she told me to give and the notes are no longer on the file i even had to get permission a 3rd time to be added to his file so i can call on his behalf. It had been almost 3 months and still no insurance. No one there has direct lines so you get no personal reports. Its someone new everytime you call. Ine girl told me to call a broker and offered to give me a number. They dont care for their customers. Now im at the point where if its this hard to get insurance. Whats it going to be like when he actually gets insurance with them.

Got my renewal which went up for no reason over $60 a month... I went online and got a quote from the same company for $40 less a month. When I asked them about it and, of course, wanted the lower rate, I am told that I can't (the new policy has not started yet and they're offering a lower rate but only to new customers?) Absolutely ridiculous... just screw over the people who have been with you the longest - it is their policy...
