The person in charge of our claim has been ignored our calls and emails for almost a week, is currently denying our professional assessment and has been lowballing us from the start by searching 4 cylinder cars instead of what ours is (6 with low mileage) over an accident we didn't even cause and had dashcam footage to prove it. We'll be taking it to the news if it doesn't improve.
Desjardins is absolutely awful. They decided to increase my premium by $100 a month just for a change of address, and when I had a claims experience last year they were very unhelpful, unwilling to provide any kind of support which was shocking, especially considering I wasn’t at fault, and every time I asked when I’d receive the money they hung up on me. Had to go through an ombudsman to get them to pay me the money they owed me. Complete scam of a company.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I'm still waiting for an adjuster comes to look at my vehicle after it was turned and no one gets back to me! It is been 2 weeks now. I'm left with no vehicle as it is not drivable. The worst customer service I've ever experienced!
Probably the worst insurance experience ever. Agent claiming they applied to the government and got approval for a 10% increase in premium but the website says prices are going down because of COVID. A claim with these people would be a nightmare. Moving all insurance to a more reliable source.
I had my policy on an annual payment plan and had sent my cancellation 4 weeks before the end of my policy. They automatically attempted to renew it still and are attempting to charge me despite me already cancelling my policy and they are not sending me any notice of renewal to top it all off.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
This company needs to hire better representatives because the one that I got to talk to was extremely rude. The company should check on what kind of behaviour their employee has and improves their hiring requirements. UNACCEPTABLE!!!
After 15 years with them, paying in full every year with no claims, they raised my rates by 20% since Certas have taken over. There used to be a family feel in the office, where you felt at home so you felt you could trust them, be aware now as you are only a number to them now, money is all they are concerned about.
They increased my insurance by 60$ per month and didn't bother to let me know about that more than by mail. Unfortunately, I got this letter late and didn't cancel on time. I got a much better offer in a different company and I called my agent to ask about the penalty charge. She told me that it is going to be a 90% penalty charge and I based my decision on this information. What actually happened? well, they charged me 152%!!! When I called about that, she told me that they don't know the penalty charge amount in advance, although she told me 90%! She changed her answer every time and on most of my questions, the answer was "I don't know", she was very unprofessional and I still haven't got my money back! Agents are unprofessional and won't help you with anything! They just want to take your money, they don't even care that there is a global pandemic going on and they will still charge you an extreme amount of penalty! Don't rely on them!
Just managed to unload Dejardins which is a great relief. Arrogant, ignorant and conceited people to deal with. If you are not French, you don't count on them. Do not waste your time with them! Go elsewhere to avoid the stress of dealing with them.
I've had Desjardins in the past and ended up switching to another company because they were just way too expensive. I got State Farm originally, but they ended up getting bought out by Desjardins which was Certas and was forced to be stuck with them again. Honestly, they are the way to expensive. All I kept getting was increases and higher rates and a bunch of non-at-fault incidents that were documented on my record and is creating so many unnecessary discrepancies. After 2 years I've finally switched companies saving 46$ a month. It was the best decision!
