Awful service, unprofessional

Just managed to unload Dejardins which is a great relief. Arrogant, ignorant and conceited people to deal with. If you are not French, you don't count on them. Do not waste your time with them! Go elsewhere to avoid the stress of dealing with them.
I was stopped for a school bus in November and a car rear-ended me. Took my truck to the body shop they recommend, I specifically requested they check for frame damage. However, they were too lazy to remove the rear bumper to check the frame. The quote they submitted to Desjardins insurance was approved but some parts were not available. My insurance adjuster was unable from mid-November until January 6. So finally I picked up my untouched truck and took it home. Removed the bumper to find the frame was indeed damaged. The next day took back to the body shop for more pictures, which they reluctantly did. Then I sent my own pictures to insurance. Because parts were not available all they offered was the price of new parts and that’s all. So I took it to another certified body shop that actually looked at the frame damage. They did up a quote to fix everything, however, they still can get some parts. So I did a third quote, frame repair, parts and a fabrication shop to make the parts that were unavailable. Now my adjuster was unreachable for 4 weeks. Finally, they sent an appraiser at the end of March. He said there was rust on my truck so they could replace it with a rusty used bumper. He did actually locate a bumper and hitch 2000 km away in Nova Scotia. I ordered the part and had it shipped. Now I was starting to lose patients with this whole performance so back to the second body shop for a new quote using the used parts. The new quote was $300 more than the original quote, this one included the frame repair. After a week or so the appraiser calls the body shop and basically yelled at them that they charge too much and the quote was too much. The quote was $3,800 to fix it, after this, I got feed up informed the body shop to proceed with the repair and bill me directly. The insurance appraiser sent an offer of $1,400 after another 2 weeks of waiting. They sent a big email patting themselves on the back about coming to a deal. The only problem is it’s off by $2,400. So I stopped contacting the insurance company and started talking to a lawyer. We are almost in May now, so 5 1/2 months and my no-fault accident cost me over $2,400 and I haven’t driven my truck since November. I was with them for about 20 years with no claims, this was my first one. So do not give your business to these crooks. They will try to screw you. They definitely don’t deserve any stars.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I have been with State Farm and now Desjardins for 54 years. They were a pleasure to deal with 3 agents in all that time. The agents are great. Recently, unfortunately, I submitted a claim in January for an accident that was not our fault. A car had just been certified and put on the road a Volkswagen Diesel. I have sent them information on cars going back as far as 2000 and they are more than what Desjardins is offering me. I used the guide from NADA North American Dealers Association. All Desjardins is offering is equivalent to Clean Trade-In Value/ I can not replace my car for this money. Claim Adjuster doesn't even know what an "AS IS" vehicle is compared to a "Certified Vehicle" I would give them a negative value but this app will not let me! Do Not deal with Desjardins they know you when they take your premiums but want nothing to do with you when you submit a claim!
Following an accident Desjardin Insurance refused to have the vehicle checked for hidden mechanical damages, clearly stating in the email 'we usually don't do it'. They only agreed to an alignment, which was NOT done as per vehicle specification. The car did not behave on the road the way it was supposed to. When I brought up the issue with Complaint Liaison Officer, after 6 months of phone calls and emails that were never replied to, I was flat said I should have asked to have the vehicle checked after the accident. Which I did. The Complaint Liaison Officer answer was - 'well, I would have not changed anything anyway'. What a joke!
They have the worst service in the world. They are not picking calls ... put on hold and forget.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
The worst company to insure your car! If you complain they never going to refund you because they never say that they did something wrong. It is not even a star it is minus stars!
Incompetent, unfriendly, bad-customer - service experience. They don't give a hoot about their previous statements, your concerns/needs, or their industry standards. But they charge a hefty premium and are communicating in a way that I would characterize as unprofessional. How can this insurance still be in business?
The first year our insurance was $170.00 The following year it went up to 194.00 (for no reason – we had no traffic violations, a decent (2018 - so at this point a one-year-old) car. Our new quote is now $287.00. No claims have been made, nothing has happened. No tickets, no accidents, nothing. This is insane.
Horrible customer service. Unorganized charged me for a higher rate then discussed over the phone. I had to review tapes to confirm. The claims department is a disaster. Took 5 months to get my car back after a claim. Late in sending renewal papers.

They increased my insurance by 60$ per month and didn't bother to let me know about that more than by mail. Unfortunately, I got this letter late and didn't cancel on time. I got a much better offer in a different company and I called my agent to ask about the penalty charge. She told me that it is going to be a 90% penalty charge and I based my decision on this information. What actually happened? well, they charged me 152%!!! When I called about that, she told me that they don't know the penalty charge amount in advance, although she told me 90%! She changed her answer every time and on most of my questions, the answer was "I don't know", she was very unprofessional and I still haven't got my money back! Agents are unprofessional and won't help you with anything! They just want to take your money, they don't even care that there is a global pandemic going on and they will still charge you an extreme amount of penalty! Don't rely on them!
