Incredibly unsupportive insurance

This is my 2nd year with TD and I never submitted any claims with them. They decide to increase my home insurance monthly payment by more than 50% 6 months after the start of my second year contract. I have been trying hard to convince them to cancel the contract with no penalties but no answer. People who answer you do not have the authority or the competence to make decisions. A complete disappointment.

My parents used TD for many years. I do seperately for my own home. All was fine. Then. My parents died and I was selling their house. Arranged for insurance to end on closing date. The purchaser backed out on closing day. Next day I called TD to resume insurance. They said no. No reason other than « underwriter refused ». Despite talking to 3 people no offer of a reason or a way forward (such as higher rates). I find that outrageous and profoundly disrespectful to anyone, and especially a long term customer. I certainly will not remain a customer!
