Bad bad customer service and increases

We bought a new house and want to switch our policies to the new place. I am on hour two of being on hold. This is absolutely ridiculous! I don't have time to sit on hold for hours, they need to step up. Because of this, I am looking for another provider and I have been with them since 1997. Wow.
The wait times were common throughout our usage of TD. One time they had a question about my employment, and since we missed the call we called back and waited over an hour. This was strange because when we wanted to sign up they picked up right away-- but wait times happen. My wife and I wanted to change the address when we moved halfway through the policy, so we called and waited four, three, and two hours on consecutive days before giving up. Because our landlord needed proof of insurance, we had to go with another company because we couldn't get through to change it! Now, we are trying to cancel and call periodically for seemingly infinite wait times. Sometimes the company hangs up because they are closed, sometimes we wait for four hours and have to leave the house. The waiting music is unbearable! Now, we have a policy we didn't even want to cancel on an apartment we no longer live in because we haven't been able to get through for two months. I'm frustrated and have no idea what to do at this point.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
Wow! That's all I can say about their hold time. I tried calling them for over 1 month now and have not been able to get someone on the phone. Seriously now, my home phone's battery died on me each time. That tells you just how long I have been put on hold listening to their music. Trying again now and will send a note to the corporate office afterwards if there are really no customer service agents working.
I've found TD Monnex an extremely frustrating company to work with. They only prioritize gaining new customers and do not value retaining existing customers. After waiting on hold with them upwards of three hours several times (no matter if I called in the evening, first thing at 8 am or on a weekend), I tried selecting the option for new home insurance customers and they answered my call within the first 15 minutes. In one case, I received a voicemail from a representative who requested that I call back at the regular number for customers. After nearly four hours of waiting in one day, I finally talked to a representative who could not figure out why I had been told to call back in the first place as everything in my file looked completely up to date. I also had difficulties signing up for and accessing my online account.
I had to make a change to my insurance policy. I've collectively spent over 15 hours on hold, the longest individual hold being 4 hours. I tried using the call back feature for a new policy too, just to see if I could speak with somebody. That system wasn't working either - it would call and immediately hang up. Avoid like the plague.
Price is fine and I guess to some extent you get what you pay for. Be prepared to spend most of a day on hold with them if you need to make a change to your policy or speak with a human being. This is the fifth time I've tried to contact them in the last two months. The first four times I gave up after 2 hours. This time it's been 4 hours. Is there seriously no way to reach someone in this company?
What happened to your customer service? I had an automobile claim a few years ago and had excellent customer service. This year I simply tried to pay my annual home insurance premium by phone and gave up after two tries. Whoever is in charge of your customer service should be fired! Unless I can actually talk to an agent the next time I contact you I will definitely change to another insurance company next year. I am appalled at how your customer service has collapsed!
I've been with Meloche Monnex for 30 years. Since TD Bank bought out Meloche, it is like dealing with a low-end insurance company.
This year's renewal, all of sudden they gave you a hundred pages of policy listing what they do not cover including theft and attempting theft.
Yet most critical info about dwelling amount is not given to clients.
Called their customer service, waited for 2 hours to get answered. Very poor customer service.
The agent was trying to sell your policy saying this and that not included.
On top, for the same house, their record can be changed that you do not have certain items. A tactic that TD has to pay the occurrence.
Agents are not pleasant to speak to. One agent just hangs up on me when I ask for clarification of the policy.
Do not give TD Insurance your business, I've never experienced such horrible customer service. Just complete disrespect to the paying customer, the executives at this company are greedy.
The wait times are mind-boggling, to the point where it's approaching 2 hours on hold and you just give up. It's like this every time you call, the worst wait times I've ever experienced any company in any industry.
On my car insurance they also somehow put my sister's accident on my policy and had overcharged me a total of $900 before I caught it. I had to battle with them to get them to admit it was their fault and to give me a refund, but they would only give $300. They literally stole $600 from me in my opinion, what a bunch of scumbags.
Complete joke of an insurance company. STAY AWAY!

Tried to get a answer why my claims free home insurance increased by 30% and was told on phone no one can help me at this time! What? Are you kidding me?
