Incorrect charge prices

by Zahid Zekria on Mar 10, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

Called to modify my existing home insurance policy. I was given a quote and a grace period to shop around for a better premium. Shopped around and found it was best to stick with TD. Called back to accept the new premium and was told that the previous quote was incorrect, and was given a much more expensive price, which was not the cheapest I found. Was told that the grace period was over and that the new premium prices were going into effect. Asked what the cancellation fee before the next payment would be, was given a number. Changed insurance providers and when I called back to cancel they tried to charge me over 3 times as much.

Overall very frustrating to deal with and phone agents are either incompetent or are lying to you.

Poor Customer Experience...

Online quote system doesn't work properly, chat was useless, and eventually I spoke to live agents who were not helpful at answering questions. If trying to get a quote is this hard, what would it be like if one ever had to make a claim.

Zero stars for TD MONNEX

by TD MONNEX - no coverage on Jan 25, 2017
1 out of 5 stars

We had water damage on our ceiling due to frosting in the attic. They sent someone out to look at the damage. Called within 24 hours to advise me that this peril isn't covered. The adjuster told me that if my coverage was platinum or gold (rather than silver) the policy would have offered one time coverage. I asked her to review our history as I had paid for gold coverage for many years prior to but had recently changed to silver. she calls back the following day to tell me they reviewed my file and that she was mistaken...none of their policies cover this type of peril. IF THE ADJUSTER DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHATS COVERED HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW !!!! They certainly didn't have trouble collecting my premium year after year. Insurance is in my opinion is in place to be used in the event of a significant loss such as mine. There were many opportunities over the years where I could have opened claims in various situations but never did, thinking I'll probably eventually need insurance one day and will use it at that time. I went to use it and it was declined. Thanks for nothing TD Monnex... I'll go un-insured before I renew with Monnex....it's the same end result.

they took insurance fees for five years. when there was a claim they never fulfil the amount to the contractor who worked. there is a small amount they pay and let the owner pay from his pocket.
that is being a loyal customer for five years!!

Worest ever company

by nik on Sep 26, 2016

I would highly not recommend this company for any insurance. I was with this company for 10 years. I had my auto and home insurance with them. I was paying double the amount for insurance. They don't recognize the value of customer and their business . They just need their money. I am happy i moved out from them and learnt my lesson. I did a little bit of shopping and got a way less insurance. My best advice to all is do your shopping for insurance before every renewal it will save you a lot of money. I would not recommend td insurance for anyone.
Thank you.

different agent will give you different answers. the broker is very rude and will cancel your policy if he does not like you.

Worst Experience Ever!

I made a claim in April 2016 due to a windstorm blowing shingles off of our home, and were given to ClaimsPro through TD. We had a roofing company come and quote the damage, but the claim was "closed" due to the damage being less then our deductible. Come July our insurance renewed and our monthly payment went up $50 a month, when I called to ask why I was given to a ton of different people before finding out over a month later that they were claiming the claim under our name because they had to pay the roofing company to come quote the damage as well as ClaimPro for dealing with our claim. My overall experience was horrible, I never talked to the same person twice and was never called back. Do not go through this company, I switched to Statefarm and have had an amazing experience with them so far. I am paying almost $200 less a month for car and house insurance.

Unreasonable Money Grabbers

by Winnie Lapp Ottawa Ontario on Apr 29, 2016

I have just cancelled all policies with this company. I had four properties and a tenant package insured with this firm. I also had four automobiles insured with them. There was one claim on a property caused by a tenant who flooded the ceiling in the apartment below. This is the only claim in approx. five years of coverage. During this claim I had to do the emergency work myself as this occurred on a weekend. Once the adjuster did come he was very friendly and quite fine to deal with. However, the damaged caused to the apartment below consisted of a collapsed ceiling kitchen and floor damage which made the apartment unlivable. The contractor was unavailable for 3 months. I had to do the work myself. Next point is that my policy went from $1800.00 per year to almost $7000.00 . There should be a law against this as they are bandits.I am a retired Police Officer and many inmates are far more honest than these people. I cancelled my insurance and had to pay a substantial fee. The co-Operators insurance saved me over $3000.00 and were happy to get my business. This was on just one property. They also cancelled my cottage insurance and tried to charge me a fee to cancel although they were cancelling the policies as they would not insure the cottage without the home, they were charging over $3000.00 a year more for . Insurance companies are out of hand.Their profits are enormous. The consumers need some protection against this behaviour . Politicians talk the talk but really do nothing to help they are just a lip service for these white shirt thieves.

Tryed to cancel auto insurance

by Steve. Bowen on Apr 26, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

Worst company I have ever dealt with my wife called 3 weeks ago to cancel our car and truck insurance . After waiting on hold for 30 minutes they informed her that she could not because the vehicles were in my name, that night I was on hold for 40 minutes and then it just hung up.
I called again 2 weeks later and again was on hold for 48 minutes finally some one came on and we proceeded to do the cancellation, at this time they informed me that I would be charged a extra months payment on each vehicle because I was 5 days away from my payment which meant instead of $180.00 in 5 days it now is going to be $360.00. Highway robbery. I even explained to the girl how many times I called.

They Won't Leave Me Alone

by DuPlus on Nov 26, 2015

I used to be with TD Insurance for home but nearly 4 years ago I switched to another company because I figured out I could get better coverage for less money. Its been 4 years and I still get calls and letters from the all the bloody time. They've even done two soft checks of my credit within the last 6 months. I don't know whats wrong with these people but I've asked them to stop calling me and they said they'd take me off their list but low and behold, they have not. I'm not sure why they think they can sell me insurance since I did leave their company but even if I had never heard of them to this point, these business practices alone would make me not want to be a client of theirs.
