Our shower recently had a flash leak. We hired a restoration company to do up a report, yet, that wasn’t good enough. TD wanted a plumbers report, so we paid to have that done & his report was the same conclusion, a sudden leak. Both the reports were submitted like requested, both were deemed unacceptable & refused by TD. We’ve jumped thru hoops like they asked, yet a rep sitting behind a desk in Halifax by the name of Victoria Snow decided she was a professional plumber herself & denied the claim. We are now filing a complaint. We even had a video showing how fast the water was flowing out & it would be impossible to ignore, but of course, she refused to watch the video. We pay good money for insurance & TD has been a total rip off. It’s also a 2 hr wait if you try to call. Stay away from TD insurance if you know what good for you. Worst insurance company ever & very rude “know it all’s”.
Pathetic pathetic phone wait...
The TD house claim department is totally unprofessional. I called and sent multiple emails to the claims agent for updates and they never responded.
I've been a client with them for 20 years and this is my first house claim and they are not able to handle it in a professional manner. Extremely disappointed with the client service.
I called and emailed the claim agent Laurence A and her Manager Sonia M and until today no response from either one.
I can conclude that the management is not doing their job at managing their staff.
These are the people that I would never hire as part of my staff.
I do not recommend this company!
I had my first residential insurance loss recently and from the minute I called TD to notify them of my claim I felt taken care of.
The lady who took my information was extremely polite and professional. We spent no time on the phone at all and my claim was set up and ready to go.
It was about 20 minutes from getting off the phone when my adjuster called. I was surprised as I was told an adjuster would reach out within 24 hours.
Mandy L was my adjuster and I can't say enough good things. She was responsive, professional and so helpful!
Thanks, Mandy for making this experience as good as it gets in this type of situation!
Called and waited 1hr 40 mins only to get disconnected! If you can't answer your phones in a timely manner hire more staff, have a callback service or have a call scheduling app. This is unacceptable, I switched to TD because my last company had the same issues and I'm considering switching again as clearly they don't value my business!😡 they're blaming it on covid but it's been over a year, plenty of time to adapt
They don't care about customers at all, they cancelled my policy without informing or attempting to know the reason. After chasing for 4 weeks I was told it has been declined and let's not mention the average wait time of 1.5 hours every time you call TD insurance.
Waiting on the line for 35 min just to get a barely speaking agent to drop the phone while transferring to a manager. No calls back of course
They took my one year premium on Mar 3 2021 and cancelled my policy on Mar 4 2021 due to nonpayment and did not refund the money I paid. Then they charged my credit card extra one year premium on Mar 31 2021 to reinstate the policy and claimed they have not received any payment on Apr 7 2021. Once I went to my bank to dispute the charge, they immediately said they received the one year premium and then cancelled the policy again, charged me over 500 dollars before refund, in extra to the premiums I have paid Upto the date. Crooks. Avoid at all costs!
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
Had to make a claim due to a loss assessment at my condo less than a month after moving in. When I purchased my insurance I specifically noted I wanted protection from my condo board's reserve fund in case of any type of emergency. Was assured I would be covered.
When I did make the claim, feeling good about myself for opting for the more expensive coverage and peace of mind - was told flat out that because it's a maintenance issue, it will not be covered. Even though it's a safety hazard... even though it's a common element... even though I specifically asked to be protected from this situation.
The person "helping" me, did nothing.
Awful company, awful bank, terrible services, and bad customer service.
Never use TD insurance as it is there to collect premiums only and god forbid if you have a claim they will rip you off by working with contractors who report only what TD wants them to report. I have been a customer of TD insurance for more than 15 years. Experienced a sewage backup that has destroyed a portion of my beautifully done basement. The sewage backup occurred twice due to a city pipe egging. To my horror, the TD representative was not only very difficult to work with but blatantly ignored facts to connive with the TD contracting agency (Integricon) and make a decision to not cover just expenses. I highly suggest customers not consider TD insurance as if you get a claim you are in a lot of trouble with representatives like mine who are out there to minimize expenses for TD despite legitimate customer losses you will be left to pay large amounts from your pocket.
