AMAZING EXPERIENCE !

by Carrie M on Aug 27, 2015
5 out of 5 stars

I was given 48 hours heads up that insurance was needed on my apt for renewal lease signing . Overwhelmed by overload of choices on the www. I honestly went with a friends advice to check out the Cooperates. From the get go...Sam was extremely proficient in explaining policies ...meeting my needs and wow my rates ...I didn't feel like just another number . She showed concern in my situation and I'm not experienced in some things...lol my x did all this stuff. She went beyond her job duties took her lunch while working on my claim ( who does that...most ppl drop it like it's hot to run for their breaks not even finishing their task on hand ) took iniative to make a call to my best friend in ontario (im in Alberta ) to ensure credit info correct...i was in a tight jam with time. I had asked her to get in touch with my management company...pleasure she forwarded my policy to them immediately as I was already on route to lease signing( and again I'm not clear in how to in some stuff regarding word documents and especially on my phone:-/) ...

My experience was so good...my anxieties were eliminated ...my needs met by a professional. ..proficient and Sam is passionate in helping people. One can just feel it..I did ask her to be my rep .... I AM that confident even from a different time zone she has my best interest at heart .

Yes this review is long. Horrible grammar I'm sure again on my phone ...but ppl so quickly write the bad stuff and Alot of times not including all the facts or giving people the opportunity to make good on mistakes to restore good faith before throwing them or the company under the bus.. not so often the good of they do, and often lack the detail on the "Why" their experience was so good ..

Sam (short for Samantha ) THANK YOU SO MUCH !...you did a over the top job and I honestly feel you give a S@$!% :)

I do encourage the worrisome. ..the newbs just getting on their feet..and definitely those who are picky on not only professional but personable services to call...again IMHO.

Cheers!

Bad Customer Service.

by Baron on Aug 15, 2015

They messed up on my Account and Changed my Address without me knowing and charged me then charged me again to change back.
Also changed policy for House that I did not have and charged me and never put it back to Apartment Insurance.
Will Cancel with them and don't ever go with them again.
Some Idiot put the wrong Credit Card Number and they charged me NSF for $25 x 2 = + = $66.84 That I now have to pay. Also they said if a problem comes up the policy is they don't contact your Branch or the Client.

TERRIBLE!

by ScottH on Jun 23, 2015

I agreed to pay $29.50 for home insurance. Over the last 6 months, the company has withdrawn over $675 from my bank account and refuses to return my money. Don't use this company. They sneak in fees and services. They're crooks.

Households in Alberta pay, on average, approximately $60/month in homeowners’ insurance costs. We can help to push these costs even further down. Get a house insurance quote today to start saving today. Rates start at $20/month.

No Help!

by vancouver flood on Jan 28, 2015

My wife and I had a flood in our condo and we have the Cooperators home insurance. Our agent, Tia H. was no help. Other than basically telling us the amount of our coverage, she did nothing. We were left to find our own temporary accommodation for 4 months. We asked if she could coordinate with the apartment complex to and tell us how long we could stay before our coverage ran out, and she refused, again just quoting us the amount of our coverage. We found them slow to respond or entirely unresponsive. We spent $6700 on upgrades to our flooring two years ago and she quoted us $4500 for replacement. Still battling with them. Terrible company, terrible customer service. Will never use them again.

claim experience

by James on Dec 9, 2014
5 out of 5 stars

I am james and i am one of the person thought that fire won't happen to our home.unfortunately, we had a fire on june 2014 cause by our tenant. It was arround 12.30 a.m. we made a call to the insurance company(The cooperators)since that moment we were so embraced of their services. From the beginning to the end their services were excellent. They take care of us more than an insurance company during our hard time. I have to mention few words about our claim investigator Mr.Chris Amstrong. First couple of days he was so tough on me by questioning about how fire happened. Once he find out it's not our fault, he became a kind person whom I ever seen. He found a temporary residence by himself that he doesn't have to. Because of his guidance, we didn't even think of find an agent to do this claim process. He always gave us an option with in their company policy.no hiding. No gimmicks.very calm person. Cooperators can be proud to have such a nice employee. Fire shouldn't happen to any house. But if it's happen,I recommend cooperators is a best insurance company to protect your valuable houses. God bless cooperators.

Very poor service and attitude

Agent from Co operators came to pre inspect my newly purchased house in Trenton, it had been renovated top to bottom, he was amazed at the fact that everything was new and immediately they asked for more
money to up the value, I was from another province and alone, sent the
extra money in and moved in, 2 weeks later had a giant flood, it seems a large hole was patched in the floor when a beam was removed from the renovation and covered with carpet, agent never came until 5 days later and severe damage was done, I was on my own and had to throw 1250 square feet of new carpet out, lost fireplace, shower and all rooms were with water damage, after I nearly had a stroke cleaning up the agent came and said its not covered and left. No warm and fuzzy feelings there! I had to call and have basement redone and then have a new renovation done, am now $40,000 in the hole, do not ever use Co operators in Trenton, Ontario. I was told just after purchase I had flood insurance by them.!

Are you a condo unit tenant? Remember that neither your condominium corporations' policy nor your landlord's insurance policy protects you as a tenant (3rd part liability, contents, etc.). If you do not have your own insurance policy, get your condominium insurance quote today.

RIP OFF PEOPLE

by Sonia on Jun 27, 2014

I would never recommend Travel insurance or any other insurance with TIC/ Co-operators because they rip off people
My mom came to Canada and we applied for supervisa for her and i talked to the agent from PUNJAB INSURANCE, he said if the visa gets refused they will refund us the premium so i purchased the insurance But my mom didnt get the visa and she had to return after 4 months and when i called TIC/Co-operators for refund, they refused to return almost $ 1,000 because we claimed for two doctor's visit while my mom was staying for four months.
TIC/CO-OPERATORS INSURANCE RIP YOU OFF.
Never go with them.

Depends whom you reach

by hakeem_mirza@yahoo.com on Jun 3, 2014
1 out of 5 stars

Very bad experience. Been a loyal customer for more than 10 years. Without getting correct information they just increase the rates on assumptions about additional drivers. It always depends whom you reach over the phone, some brokers are extremely good and some nasty and very rude. I cancelled my policy with them and went with a one with better service and understanding. They don't have a system to make complaints.

Co-operators

by Slave lake fires on May 30, 2014
5 out of 5 stars

They are a step above the rest. When we had the fires in Slave Lake the Co-operaters were the first ones there. They had all of their claims settled and were already packing up their claims units while other insurance companies were just getting there. This was good for me especially beacuse it would have been very hard for me to find a contractor otherwise which it was for some of my friends and neighbours with other insurance policies. Overall a great company with great service and great agents. Thank you Co-operators!

Did you know that Ontarians pay, on average, $47/month in homeowners insurance? Looking to change your home insurance or simply want ensure that you do not overpay? Our home insurance quotes are among the most competitive.

The fine print.....

After being a loyal Co-Operators customer for 29 years with ZERO claims on my automobiles, our home and our cottage, I had the misfortune of some rainwater entering a window and damaging the walls, etc.
When I called to make a claim, I was sent from person to person, with the end person on holidays! It took nearly 4 days to make a claim and then I had to email pictures of the damage. Within 5 minutes I had an email back indicating they were not covering the damage. WOW! I always felt I was covered for everything, at least that is what my agent said....They never came to inspect the home and following nearly $8000 per year in premiums this is the level of service and loyalty I should expect? Be very careful of this company, their commitment to customers is poor and you will be left leaving their office with false hopes and they will stick it to you when you need them.
