Stay away from Allstate

I was in a no fault accident in 2015 the day before my wedding actually. Called allstate right there. Informed the police. My vehicle needed repair around $4000 for the bumper and light. Months go buy and i call allstate asking whats going on with my claim. They say the person responsible gave them the wrong insurance or something, I have to wait. More months go by, i cant get them on the phone, I leave numerous voicemails for them. Nothing. Finally i go into their nw office ands tell them if they dont fix my vehicle im leaving their service. They say to wait again. Nope. I close my account and guess what they keep charging me. I file a complaint aginst them and write numerous eltters, they said i didnt provide in writing that i was leaving. I guess yelling at them in person to fix my truck or else wasnt good enough. I write them a letter and sue in small claims to get my money back as they were charging my card. I still tried contacting them over and over to get my vehicle fixed. Nothing. Finally around 2019 they respond and say its my fault they didnt give me the information and that the statute of limitations for me to sue is past. They deleted all my voicemails and only had one msg to a number i no longer had at the time in 2016- asking me to contact them even though they had my correct number. They also at this time in 2019 sent me an estimate sheet with the locaiton of the garage, I NEVER RECIEVED THIS UNTIL THEN. Allstate is a scam company that stonewalled me for years so they didnt have to have my vehicle fixed and yet they keep harrassing me trying to get me back as a customer. What a joke.
Was quick, polite and efficient. The individual had a good demeanor and explained my policy clearly. I would recommend him. He responded back quickly.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
They are absolutely the worst insurance company. So glad i left them.
1) They literally stole from me and acted like it was no big deal that they were charging me the wrong amount.
2) my bank account got compromised and instead of reminding me that my last payment didn’t go through Because i had changed my card, they added more fees and took HUGE amounts of money to restore my insurance.
Trust me and avoid at all costs. Their average wait time for any help is approximately an hour.
Being honest the only reason I chose Allstate is because they offered cheaper quotes for my car insurance, BUT here is what happened to me and you will likely experience the same:
1. The sales rep who signed you up is GONE after you are onboard (never reply your email any more).
2. Average over 40+ mins wait time to talk to someone the helpline.
3. Unexpected 35% increase of your premium (no claims, 100% safe driving during the year) WITHOUT any notice and they hope you never find it out (YoY 35%).
4. The sales rep asks you to download a APP called Allstate "Drivewise" to get a small discount, but this spy App tracks EVERYTHING (your speed, brakes, maybe voice you never know) while you are driving, and if you stop using it, guess what, the discount is gone and more fees for you (of course they won't tell you that when they sign you up).
5. Very difficult to cancel and maybe some hidden fees you do not expect.
If you are ok with all that above, go for Allstate, otherwise, from my own experience I would suggest to go for a company that is more professional and more responsible to their customers.
I have been insuring with Allstate for about 65 years. During that time, I have had complaints, but nothing serious. However, over the past three weeks, I have had situations that have caused me to think seriously about looking for another carrier.
I have been dealing with the Allstate offices and their customer service has, all but disappeared.
Within the last month, my auto insurance came due and I like to pay my bills directly with their office. However, when I went there. There was no one there to take my payment. I purposely went there a good deal after lunch so as not to interfere with anyone’s lunch time, but was told by the manager that there was no one available as the person responsible was having her lunch. This is the first time that the branches manager has refused to help me and told me to come back at another time.
When I returned the next day, it took them about five minutes to find some one who could help me.
In previous years, the receptionist, was always there and took care of me within a couple of minutes.
A week after the above incident, my wife misplaced her pink insurance slip so I went to the Allstate office at about 3:20 p.m. to get a replacement. When I explained what I needed, I was told to have a seat and she would look after me in about five minutes. There were already two other people seated there, so I accepted the situation.
During the time I was waiting, another couple approached the receptionist. I have no idea what their needs were, but they were told to have a seat. Since the was only one seat left, they chose to stand and wait.
The couple stood and waited for about six minutes before I could hear them mumble that the wait was ridiculous so they left.
I was told to wait about five minutes, but when I had been sitting for more than ten minutes, I got up to leave. As I was heading out, I commented that I believed that I had been waiting long enough. I received no reply from the receptionist so I left.
I am now looking to change carriers.
I had a very bad experience with Allstate.
I purchased a car insurance with Allstate, but I get an additional "property insurance" which is about rental property or something. It was the agent "told" (not recommend) me to buy (I don't even have a rental house, or a room), I was told it helps to reduce insurance price, but actually it did increased my payment every time (extra $42.28/month)!!!
when I sold my car and need to cancel insurance, the agent just gave me a number to call then never contact me again. I called to cancel the car's insurance and the property insurance, 2 weeks later, they finally canceled the car's, but keeping charging me for the property insurance. I called again (the connecting is always waiting for long time), and I was confirmed it canceled, and I was told that they need to contact another department. One month later, I found I was still charged through my credit card. I had to call again, the girl said the cancelation is still in progress. I have no words at all.
I am still waiting....
Worst claim agent. left you hanging without instruction, or any guide. Ignore my calls from morning to evening. the car needs to be tow but she did not do anything, I have to handle by myself. Did not even bother to arrange for replacement car, her knowing i have newborn and toddler.
Unable to get a simple explanation why my insurance didn’t decrease since this was the second year and with a old car I was supposed to save money. The woman that called me seemed like she was doing me a favor.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
As a long time customer I would expect I was getting best rates. I called to discuss why I would be saving $110.00 a month on 2 cars. The lady took the call was rude and unprofesional. Asked to be transferred to a manager she said take 1 to 5 business days. You lost 3000.00 in one call.

I recently had a disappointing experience with Allstate Insurance. Despite being a loyal customer, I encountered unwarranted price hikes with no room for negotiation when I reached out to discuss rates. The customer service wait times were exorbitant when calling, and when I finally connected with an agent, I was met with inflexibility and a suggestion to switch to a cheaper option elsewhere. It's disheartening to see a lack of respect for loyal customers and a disregard for fair pricing practices. As a result, I've decided to take my business elsewhere, as it's evident that Allstate Insurance prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction.
