Took me 4 months to get a cheque. It also took 4 months to start a physio evaluation. I kept getting transferred from one claim adjuster to another. No one ever emailed or called me back. Had to get the ombudsman involved and in 2 days, solved. I would never pick this company. It took about 45 minutes to get to an agent. The agent with transferred to another, which transferred me to someone's voicemail and no response back. The whole process went in this order for many times. Just terrible customer service.
My vehicle and home burnt down on November 11th, 2021. It was deemed Arson and I was deemed a victim since the incident. Allstate has a tow driver ready the next day, shocking. Unfortunately due to the landlord and the vehicle being on the property, I had to wait until that insurance part was done. A week later it gets taken to their collision center and deemed a total loss. I had to call my adjuster 2 weeks later because he never called. Come December 3rd still nothing until I call and I'm being told the investigator is in contact with EPS ( funny because I hadn't signed an any form yet ) come December 7th my rental vehicle that I paid for out of pocket up until April until I bought a cash vehicle... was in an at-fault accident. My adjuster was telling my RENTAL COMPANY my policy holders' other drivers talking about my fire claim when it's none of their business! My spouse was driving. They mess up the days and say that 3 months later they need a new claim form. They say after 59 days of having all the forms and acknowledging receipt AND saying I should have my answer in a few weeks for both claims ( this is the end of January) I get told I need a bank statement showing my burnt vehicle payments and something from this company and that etc.
To top it off, come to my renewal I go to log in to find out I HAVE NO INSURANCE. I had no idea nobody contacted me nothing. I complain to the superintendent of insurance and poof pink cards are in my email within hours. I then learn they took my collision coverage off for claim frequency... the last collision claim I have is from 2013. The rest are the fire and a hit-in-run ( in a 9-year driving record). To top it off completely they ask for an inspection for my 2000 truck... they demand it within 5 days because 5he truck is 12 years or older.. it is 22 years old and was definitely over 12 years when I had the policy for a whole year. I then received a cheque in the mail for pennies stating my policy had been terminated because I didn't get the inspection in a week's time but they're extremely prompt in handling the claim. I've paid 5000 for my rental, and 5000 for my new vehicle I had to buy cash not to mention the new insurance company and all my accommodations needed thanks to Allstate still not approving or denying my claim from 7 months ago.
Your insurance company is supposed to be on your side but Allstate would rather cut you down and up before paying a penny into your pocket.
The only hands you'll be in if you are insured with Allstate is a civil lawyer's hands. Trust me you'll need one.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I got car insurance from them with a $1000 deductible and after 2 weeks they sent an email that we will increase your deductible to $5000 for no reason and if I cancel they will charge 1 month as a penalty...
I was in an accident by someone with Allstate insurance. It was clearly the other party's fault, the adjuster told me I was somehow 20% at fault and would owe that much to fix my vehicle. When asking for some type of explanation I was given none. I’m pretty sure every accident where Allstate is liable they find the other party 20% at fault because if you chose to stay home and not drive then the accident wouldn’t have happened. The happy ending went through my insurance and they went after Allstate and Allstate paid100%. Got my deductible back!
I have never experienced such terrible customer service before until now I still can’t believe it. I had my daughter on my policy as a second driver until she decided to get her own car, we called Allstate a whole week before she was due to pick up her car, and they told her someone will call her, two days passed before she got a call, and even then again, she was told someone else from another department will have to call her back. Come the day to pick up her car, no one called her, so she called, and after being on hold for over 30m, she was told they’ll get an agent to call her back. She ended up calling another insurance who dealt with the coverage right away, so she could go pick up her new car. I still can’t understand why there were so many loops to jump through. Anyway, it was their loss.
Just had my first car accident. Need to get the bumper replaced. Phone customer service KEEPS delaying my claim, telling me they don't have claim info, telling me it's after hours, whatever. After 9 business days, they never called me. I had to call and leave multiple messages. They only called me when I clearly stated I wouldn't be available. IT'S BEEN A MONTH AND I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN MY CAR FIXED. I don't care how much my parents pay this terrible company, I would have paid them more if they got my claim done in less time and saved me the stress of getting my car fixed from my first accident. Terrible company!!!
What exactly is their protocol for calling on new claims is all over the place, 2-3 days, I was told on the phone could be up to 9 days - WOW, what kind of customer service is that!
Allstate is everything “NOT”, what they claim to be, interested only in taking your money and CUSTOMER CLIENT CARE does not seem to be in their values and vision...
Took over a month to complete my claim with them and the entire process was a massive pain. The adjuster assigned to my claim never ONCE returned my calls or emails. I even mentioned it to who I thought was a manager and no one ever acknowledged that issue. It took forever for anyone to get back to me & the reason I got was there "busy" which I strongly believe was a cop-out. When one of the adjusters reach out to advise my truck was a write-off, I asked if I could bring it home to take off the aftermarket parts in my garage & not do it in a parking lot as I had electrical items that needed to come off, he told me - no. And I wasn't allowed as it was a "liability", when my husband called and asked the SAME THING, he let him with no issues. 2 weeks after the initial claim my vehicle was deemed a write off so when I called my broker to take it off my policy I was told it is not allowed till the claim is completed but would get credited. Once the claim was completed I reach out again to my broker to take it off my policy, she did but was advised I would be getting charged again for something I have not physically had in my possession for a month at this point. Once I voiced my concern and asked to speak to a manager I got the date backdated but won't be getting a refund, they would credit my remaining payments but when I called 2 weeks prior they lead me to believe otherwise, so they took my money no problem but now won't give it back. This explains why it was by far the cheapest I found..... Will definitely be looking for a new company.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I had my car stolen on February 17th, it was recovered on the 19th, my vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for a whole month with no action from Allstate
I have lost count of how many emails and phone calls I have sent and called and no reply. I called the adjuster leaving a message I was going to be away for a couple of days and while I was gone he called and left not a nice message of how I did not answer the call and left another phone number he can call me at.
I have emailed him twice and called him twice and no reply.
In the meantime, I had to borrow a vehicle because my daughter has a broken leg (the day my car was stolen I was getting her on the wheelchair into emergency). My husband passed away and I have to borrow a vehicle again to deal with his funeral and other stuff that needed to be done
In my whole life, I have never had to deal with such nonsense, this is unacceptable.
I got into an accident and was advised by their agent that I had "No-Fault" and would not be penalized nor have my premium affected. After making my claim I was told otherwise and sought accountability. I got bounced around everywhere and each department was saying different things. After they traced the person who gave me the wrong advice, they were not interested in fixing their mistake. They just apologized and terminated my insurance with them. I filed a formal complaint to their Ombudsman's office and it was totally a waste of time. Their department head just gave me some lame excuses and try to refer to their sister company - which quoted me an even higher premium than any other company out there. I strongly do not recommend this non-accountable, disorganized and cruel company - save yourself!
